Kindly tell us, those trucks that convey tomatoes, pepper, cows, goats, potatoes and the likes from the north, how many have been converted to CNG?

I'm waiting for your reply, my good sir.

Read what exactly?

Celebrating the use of CNG when it hasn't even gotten to everywhere in Nigeria, when in fact, there are many rural areas that don't have filling station, talkless of having CNG conversion centres?
98% of Social Media Fools are not enlightened but frustrated fools. If CNG can substitute about 1 million litres of Desiel and PMS weekly presently, then it is a great success. It conserves Crude oil for other purposes . It reduces pressure on foreign exchange reserves. It preserves the environment.

Why is Dangote Cement new trucks now using CNG instead of Diesel?

NIPCO built a CNG station at IBAFO in Ogun State opposite Mountain Of Fire Prayer City since 2014.

Since July this year till Tuesday this week about 100 DANGOTE CNG TRUCKS have been filled. People are asking me why Dangote Cement is converting to CNG when they have Refinery. I told them I am going to write the reason on nairaland when time comes.

Apart from Dangote, a lot of companies with fleet of trucks are converting to CNG and the fleet of CNG trucks are loading from this CNG station opposite Prayer City beside Rain Oil at IBAFO.

What Tinubu government has done it is only right thinking Nigerians that can appreciate it. The change is very painful but also gainful at the end.

In 2014 up till 2015 when that CNG station was built, I had thought it was a wasted huge investment. Up till 2022, people still don't understand the importance of the Gas Station. Now, everybody knows the reason why the Gas Station was built when they saw Dangote Trucks on queue for CNG .

Most of you are social media youths or Social Media Fools. If Government increased Price from 580 to 920 or 850 is that not a good reason for Dangote to take advantage and announce his cheaper price?

He wants to collect subsidy. He wants NNPC to buy from him at imported fuel price and sell to Nigerians through marketers at subsidized Price. No way.

TheAlchemist:
So Dangote built such a gigantic refinery without any plan B of how to sell his petrol. I guess he got blinded by his plan to chop fuel subsidy. Interesting times ahead.
You got the key point but missed a vital point. You see, when I had an account on nairaland (babaolofin) I was the most fanatical fan of Dangote group. I fought with people because of Dangote group. I fought very hard during Obasanjo, Jonathan and Buhari. The battle during Jonathan was very tough, that was the IBETO imported and repackaged cement in Portharcourt which Jonathan allowed. We fought the Sugar battle and the Okpella limestone deposit case with BUA. We have fought for Dangote Refinery for many years when people said it is a scam. We thank God today, those who called it a scam for many years are the people defend it now because of Tinubu.

On this Dangote Refinery , nobody supported Dangote Refinery more than Mele Kyari the NNPC GMD. The next chief supporter is Emefiele. If Emefiele were allowed to air his view, he would have more to say . Few months ago, on nairaland I said I became confused because I don't know what is happening again. What we thought at the beginning of the Refinery is different from what is playing itself out .

The key point you got is that Dangote wanted the Subsidy but in another form. Kyari will never allow that. If Emefiele were to be the CBN Governor, he will never allow it. They both laboured and contributed to assist the Refinery. As I said few days ago before NNPC statement, Independent marketers should be allowed to buy directly from Dangote. Dangote should tell us his price.

The Vital point you missed is that Dangote doesn't have plan B of where to sell his PMS if NNPC failed to buy from him. From onset, Dangote Refinery made us to know the Refinery is designed to serve the entire West and Central Africa and beyond. They can also buy crude oil from anywhere. The secret is that Government money is easy and sweet and require less stress. The target on billions of dollars expenditure by the government on fuel importation is the reason why he went into the Refinery and not that he wants to sell to other countries. He wants to recoup his investment before other local Refineries come online . Selling to other countries and Independent marketers exposed him to competition. He can lose out in the competition because he is dealing with big players and oil mafia. He wants NNPC to buy from him at his price and sells to marketers at subsidized price as it is done for imported fuel . I don't subscribe to that. Let Dangote Refinery and other importers sell directly to Nigerians. The best option should be taken by Nigerians.

My observation is that in 1994 when Alau Dam collapsed for the first time Abacha was in power. Though Abacha lived his life in Kano just like his kinsman Bashir Tofa, ABACHA is a Kanuri man, therefore, Maiduguri is his ancestral home. Today, Shettima is the number two man in power and a former governor of Bornu State. 30 years after 1994, Alau Dam collapsed again. ABACHA and Shettima are the two Kanuri to have occupied seat of power at Presidency within the space of 30 years

NNPCL should allow Dangote to operate freely and also revert to the old price of petrol.

The new price is too high considering the current global crude oil price
Prof Ishaq is a Professor of Islamic Studies defending Muslim. He knows nothing or little about economy and about what is happening.

Dangote Refinery should tell us how much it is selling PMS per litre to Nigerians. As an educated person I expect Prof Ishaq to use his connections to know what is happening.

Dangote Refinery told Nigerians the price of its Diesel per litre. He should do the same for PMS.

For example if Dangote Refinery is selling PMS to Nigerians at 850 or 900 or 1000 Naira per litre or 800 Naira per litre, Nigerians should know. If Nigerians cannot afford it, then the National Assembly, State Governors, Labour Unions and CSO will decide how much subsidy the Federal Government want to spend by buying PMS from Dangote Refinery. They should also debate on where to get the money to pay subsidy while servicing debts and meeting other critical infrastructural needs.

It is not good to blackmail the government without understanding the foundation of the problem.

NNPC didn't stop Dangote from selling to Marketers but at what Price?

Somehow flawed analysis
At what percentage FX loss will selling crude oil in Naira to Dangote refinery cost Nigeria, compared to importing refined fuel in USD? I'm sure it is minimal.

Besides, there are other crude oil products that are being imported that will now be supplied by DR. Also, most of Dangote refinery export earnings which will be in USD will be domiciled in Nigeria, making it available in the FX market.
Your analysis is also wrong. I am aware Dangote is doing a lot of propaganda through the new Public Relations Manager. 5 or more people can be in the same location with different accounts defending the same cause.

You are a very deluded IBO man. Very uninformed. Obasanjo wrote open letters to Jonathan about nepotism under his watch. Obj listed key areas. It was on record that Chief Edwin Clark replied Obasanjo thrice through print media where he (Chief Edwin Clark) elaborately itemized all the appointments and omitted key sectors, despite that, the lopsided appointment was clearly visible.

Under Jonathan, Chief Edwin Clark fought battle with Obasanjo turning Newspapers to battleground. As a Statesman, Obasanjo doesn't make comments on nepotism it was only under Jonathan he made references to it in one of his open letters. That was the period they looted the high revenue from oil and looting the money he saved in Foreign reserve when he was leaving.

Apart from Adesina (Min of Agric), Oke (DG NIA) , mention one key appointment in a strategic sector. Demuren was removed from NCAA, Onagoruwa was removed from BPE. Is it Minister of State that is first class appointment? Under Obj, Ojo Madueke, Kema Chikwe, Okonjo Iweala, etc are there. In the Presidency, Andy Uba was there . These are powerful people. Under Jonathan, all key sectors were dominated by your people. Sanusi that Yaradua brought have a tough time until he was removed.

Which analysis do you need? You are very uncivilized. Very self-centered tribe. You have the SGF and the Chief of Army Staff, Ita Ekpenyong was DG SSS. You have Finance, Petroleum and all sensitive key MDAs.

PDP National Chairmanship was zoned to South West, under Jonathan Presidency, South West was maneuvered and frustrated out. They said South West doesn't matter. Even when Awolowo was alive, NPN zoned Chairmanship to South West.

I posted it in 2022 on nairaland when I was given babaolofin account to use when somebody told me at a Christian Camp that if Tinubu becomes President they will invite the Military to take over. By then, Tinubu had not indicated interest to contest. I posted it on nairaland. He is a Delta IBO. I asked him who will invite the Military? The man ran away since last year from coming to the camp.

There are many internal forces. External forces work based on information provided to them. This time around, the information is propaganda.

Just like during Awolowo era when they used Akintola, also, during Obasanjo they used SB Awoniyi but Obasanjo had military clique apart from political group. This time around, they are using Yoruba human rights lawyers and CSOs. During Jonathan, I don't want to mention names, all their Human rights lawyers supported Jonathan. The main target of their protest is Tinubu. Abuja has never witnessed serious protests. The major protest is always in Lagos.

Yoruba will never support any serious protests in South West. They are trying to blackmail the Yorubas and are camouflaging as Yorubas to protest. It has been resisted. What they want to do now is provocation and anything can happen from there.

There are problems on ground. Obasanjo met $5.5 billion in reserve in May 1999 with huge debts. He left estimated $60 billion in reserve and other investments. He paid debts otherwise the total money would have been around $72 billions or $75 billions. Yaradua Jonathan government came, sold oil up to $130 per barrel and output of around 2 million barrel per day. Jonathan government did not save ONE KOBO and borrowed heavily. They spent the money Obasanjo saved. No major project in South West apart from road coming from South South which passed Ore and stopped long way before Ijebu Ode. This time, Ijebu Ode (J3) to Lagos road was nightmare, very chaotic. You spent Shorter time from Portharcourt or Onitsha to Ore than Ijebu Ode (J3) to Lagos, in fact you can sleep on the road. Nobody asked the government why the Project did not start from Lagos or from Sagamu. Now, they are questioning the rationale behind Lagos Calabar highway starting from Lagos.

They looted estimated $100 billion and empowered their kinsmen businesses worldwide. They acquired properties in Lagos and Abuja. What saddened my heart is that South South people never benefitted from that government apart from few people. They handed over $25 billion to Buhari, the key economic team members travelled out of Nigeria before Jonathan handed over government.

Jonathan in a national network presidential broadcast before handing over said nobody should probe him except they start from Tafawa Balewa (1960).

They assumed Jonathan government looted and favoured IBOs, Buhari came and favoured Fulani / North, so Tinubu is coming to favor the Yorubas and they are apprehensive. They are fighting the Yorubas spiritually and with blackmail and propaganda. They hijacked social media to carry out their agenda and suspend, ban and frustrate Yorubas. Some Default Apps on some of their franchise phones are mainly for propaganda. Yet Yorubas don't know.

If great crisis should happen in South West, those Yoruba Lawyers claiming human rights lawyers would be the first victims.

Obi later issued licenses for but importation..Ibeto built his floating barge in Port Harcourt, imported bulk cement for rebating, Dangote uses Obasanjo to alo scuttle that one .. his shipment was not allowed to berth until it was damaged ...the man suffered stroke just like the owner of St. Louis sugar

When Yaradua came on boardz he was briefed about the incident and the claims of the man , he went ahead to approved the compensation to Ibeto since the court agreed that he pursued a government authorised business...guess what ...the same Dangote went to court to stop the federal government from compensating Ibeto .... Today ,Ibeto cannot run his Nkalagu cement because of interference and the plant that ought to be producing and generating jobs lies idle

Dangote sought to run his Kano brother , BUA , aground because of sugar ...

He has entered the oil business and hopes others would clear out for him ....this is not some 5 or 6 person's dominated business....

By the way , he is still fighting BUA in cement even as his sugar fight seemed to have waned
Sir, you mixed things up. Also there are falsehood in some of your explanation. I am still mourning the death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah otherwise, I would have been able to show you a lot of statistics on those defending Dangote. I am always at Nnewi if I am not in Lagos or Ibadan. I shuttle Onitsha, Nnewi and Awka, occasionally, Enugu or Owerri and Portharcourt.

Firstly, I didn't know Chief IBETO had stroke, it might be due to old age after a very long years of hardworking without rest. The issue of Obasanjo regime, Nkalagu Cement factory, Floating barge at Portharcourt was different from how you put it. Lafarge is the largest cement brand in Europe. It is easier for them to import their products to Nigeria using a Jetty and repackage as IBETO was doing. Dangote, Flour Mills of Nigeria, Yinka Folawiyo and few others have shed at the ports that they used for importation of cement. When Obasanjo stopped importation, it affected all of them. Flour Mills of Nigeria (Burham Cement), Yinka Folawiyo (Horse Cement) have more capacity than IBETO. IBETO acquired Nkalagu and pleaded for government to allow him continue with his importation while he is working to start production locally at Nkalagu. Obasanjo government banned importation. Flour Mills and others invested hundreds million of dollars in Calabar for local Cement factory production, Lafarge invested billions to build another Cement factory - Lakatabu II. Dangote invested at Obajana, Gboko, BUA also invested heavily. JONATHAN came surrounded by the IBOS , because of IBO business men, allowed importaion. Mind you, it was not Yaradua that allowed importation, It was JONATHAN. IBETO imported and repackaged and made money from Portharcourt. Trailers of Cement daily moved out of Eagle Jetty. Everybody knows including Jonathan, Peter OBI the Economic Adviser to Jonathan (Anambra State Governor), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Anyim Pius Anyim that immediately Jonathan is out of power, automatically, IBETO Cement operations at Eagle jetty Portharcourt comes to an end. I am not even sure Buhari ordered the Cement importation to stop. IBETO stopped it immediately Buhari was sworn in.

Federal Government has never at any time stopped IBETO from taking over Nkalagu. On Social Media, they gave several excuses. They said FG send EFCC to embarrass IBETO because of Nkalagu and several others but the most common accusation was Dangote.

Now, the same people are defending Dangote. They have forgotten that now Portharcourt or any Federal Government Refinery cannot work. If PH Refinery work for 3 months before being sabotaged then, Nigerians should be grateful to Dangote Refinery and importers. NNPC cannot be struggling to find Crude oil for Dangote and at the same time looking for Crude oil for Portharcourt Refinery. So, one will give way for another and it is government Refineries that will give way.

Dangote financial constraints presently is not the handiwork of saboteurs.....he is reported to require a working capital of roughly 2b dollars and no bank, local and international , is willing to commit more of their resources than they have already done. If there is no working capital to pay for raw materials ,how is he then going to operate the place .

NNPC reneged on their share purchase arrangement wherein they were expected to give him crudes worst nearly 2b dollars after forking 1b in cash to him

There is no sense in NNPC carrying on with that arrangement.

Outside this , a substantial part of his debt obligations falls due this August.

With no bank loans forthcoming to refinance the debt , his options are limited to renegoting his debt or share sales.

Filtch says that the share sales options remains the best but how soon he is able to find the investors willing to take up his offer remains a daunting challenge.

Every depot owner is ready to patronised him if he will be honest and creat the right conditions ....selling your products to Nigerian depots owners at 50 dollars higher than what you sell to outsiders is anti business ...

Seeking to dispense the products into trucks will have depots owners up in arms against you and they have the number and contact to ground you .....they are from every zone of this country

But let's says somebody even wants to sabotage him. Didn't he do same to his brother, BUA , when he bought of their warehouse of sugar and issued a dud cheque?

Find BUA replies Dangote ,online and read
Shouldn't he also taste his own medicine , for once , at least
.

This one weh you talk about Benin is so true. Nigerians are just the absolute worst.
Benin Republic would have been better and Ghana would have been the best. I asked a question over two decades ago when I was very small and still asking the question which nobody has answered me. The question is how part of Tincan Island Port Jetty that extended to Nigerdock gate was partitioned and given to Dantata. They called the place Dantata Jetty from time immemorial. As at that time (military era), no private individual enjoy that benefit and that place was very busy full of different activities.

Coming back to your Benin Republic suggestion, in Ghana, Sentuo Group is building two Refineries at the cost of $1.98 billion. In Ghana that is a very huge cost. Some Ghanaians are still complaining. I told them in Nigeria, the two Refineries would cost about $15 billion. The government will give waivers, incentives and direct financial support up to $3 billion dollars. At the end, it is the government support that will build the refinery. All the loans from the consortium of banks and government waivers and incentives is to complete and start other projects in other countries and in Nigeria. Those Ghanaians said Nigeria is big and rich. Oby Ezekwesili called for the Audit of Dangote Refinery and NNPC / Federal Government commitment in the Refinery project. It is already too late.

In Ghana, they said the promoter of Sentuo Group is a friend of Akufo Addo their president, they should come to Nigeria and see things for themselves.

what Nigeria normally use to stabilize the naira is foreign reserve over the years, which is stupid, Nigeria had $28b when Tinubu came in ,the government can only liquidate or touch $7b ,the cbn use on the average $400 m weekly to subsidize the naira fall that translate to over $22b annually, not to count money for subsidy.

What this government is yet to get right is that if you still keep on having an official rates and there is a black market, you can't win the black market until you truly float your currency, abandon any official rate, let both Dangote, chukwudi the importer, baba Taiwo that want to pay children school fees, everyone under the sun buy dollars at real market value, then the rate will stabilize.

Lunch am massive agro production in all the 774 lgs with government funds, employ agricultural extension officers from nysc for bsc agric holders ,and gradutes from agricultural schoois 30 for each local government,a prof and two Drs from our universities to supervise, under a year or two food security will be guaranteed and excess for export.

Critical industries should also be helped be it technically, financially and other wise,we need to find out what do we have that if we put more effort and add value into it ,we can export and improve productiont.

The first should wake up in their job,it's high time the first start asking anyone with sudden wealth to explain where he or she got money from to buy Bugatti, send children to school abroad, buy land or build house in high brow area, People have to start explaining where those money came from and if they are genuine adequate tax is taken into the government covers, the FIRS can even design a report scheme like in china if you have money all of a sudden and it's unexplained, the citizens in that community are encouraged to report you ,either in your community or your place of work ..not less than 5 people,so that it won't be like the whistleblower system that has failed us ...

The penalty for financial crimes is way to low.. government has to take financial crimes seriously and penalty at par with Drugs and armed robbery crimes.

Lastly we would need more humanly useable Prisons built,if ever we are ready to move forward.
Sir, you are very correct. You are a core professional. I suspect you are either an economist or a Financial Analyst. Your analysis of the situation on ground and way forward is perfect. The Nigerian system cannot work that way. I pity the South West elites and elders that have not woken up to reality. Most of the South West youths are also affected. They do not wake up to reality. Tinubu met $28 billion in the reserve with a budget for 97% debt servicing. Out of the $28 billion, he can only touch $7 billion for a population of over 200 million people.

Floating the naira fully as suggested by you will make exchange rate fully determined by market forces. I think what is happening now is narrowing of the gap between official rate and black market. The real value of Naira to Dollar is being monitored by CBN.

All the Agricultural revolution steps you highlighted are good but implementation is the solution. Some people have determined to frustrate government in everything. They want immediate solution. Government within a short time less than 14 months fulfilled an inherited obligation of $7 billion dollars. That is huge. Government is also working on diverse policies from students loans, trade policies, CNG for transportation and industries, tax holiday for industries and massive roads construction. Apart from Obasanjo era, there is no government in Nigeria that such diverse developmental policies and projects have taking place.

Politics in Nigeria is something else. Jonathan left $25 billion in the reserve with debts for Buhari while all the major actors travelled abroad before handing over ceremony. Buhari left $28 billion for Tinubu with some debt commitment maturing before one year in power. The government has tried despite the inflation. The security problem in the North East and North West greatly affected agriculture and financial commitment to fighting terrorism is very huge.

If you don't know , you don't know! Dangote is the longest serving cabal in Nigeria since the military era at the expense of the masses
We thank God the IBOS now know Dangote is a Saviour. The IBOS have fought Dangote for years. They called him several names. They called him a monopolist, government paddy paddy businessman and all sort of bad names. They don't see him as enemy of IBETO and Capital Oil again even before Senator Ifeanyi Ubah died. I remembered fighting for almost two decades on behalf of Dangote against the IBOS. The toughest was during Jonathan when Jonathan allowed importaion of Cement because of IBO importers while Dangote, BUA, Lafarge and others invested billions of dollars in local manufacturing and were competing with IBETO imported cement from Portharcourt. Buhari stopped it immediately Jonathan left. The IBOS cried foul.

They called Dangote Refinery a Scam, they said it can never work. We defended the refinery. We thank God. They (IBOS) are now the ones defending Dangote. They did at a time we are studying their agitation against Dangote but we are surprised they have forgotten IBETO and Capital Oil and shifted base to Dangote. Dangote now have good supporters. They are good in propaganda and they controlled Social Media. If this my posting appears on nairaland, they allow it because they can filter it or even block it. Dangote has good supporters.

Tobi amusan finishes third in 100m huddles, loses out on automatic qualification.

Nigeria's Tobi amusan has lost out on automatic qualification after finishing third in heat 1 of women's 100m hurdles semi-final in Paris on Friday, August 9.

The world record holder clocked 12.55s to come third and would now have to wait and hope she makes it as one of the best losers for a chance in the final .
She tried. While others ran the hurdles track, she ran the track, she also ran against some Nigerians. Her hurdles were physical (track event) and spiritual (Nigerians filled with bitterness). Some Nigerians never prayed she wins. If she had won, they would have been shouting 'drug' or Juju.

I was surprised the speed at which the information hit nairaland frontpage. I had expected that. On Wednesday when she won the heat with a spectacular speed and it was reported on many online media. It was over 9 hours later it was reported on sports section of nairaland. I have monitored the sports section for 8 hours because I know such information may not be on frontpage.

As if it was planned, few minutes after the news appeared in the sports section, the first comment was an insult "Drug Cheat".

People don't really know the people they are dealing with. The earlier our people know they are seating on bomb and get prepared the better.

I had expected Awujale of Ijebu land to delegate at least Wasiu Ayinde and about 3 members of prominent Ijebu sons to the tournament for emotional support. You don't fight enemies with sophistication and liberality when they hate you with cruel hatred.

It's crucial to remember that the issues in the oil sector run deeper than just one individual. Let's focus on solutions that will truly benefit Nigeria's economy and support Dangote in his efforts to enhance our local refining capabilities.
It is very painful to me, very painful that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah died when he was highly needed. The most needed man in the parliament at a very critical and crucial legislative session died . I wept when they informed Senator Ifeanyi Ubah died. People were asking me why? I said because he was the Chairman of Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream Sector. One of the major players in Petroleum Downstream Sector is in the Chamber, if the House can be penetrated, they dare not come to Senate . If Senator Ifeanyi Ubah were to be a Ghanaian, Ghanaians will say they killed him because of the petroleum downstream sector battle to penetrate Senate.

Apart from dirty fuel or substandard fuel, some operators in the sector with investment and commitment felt cheated. They have their opinions. They felt short changed.

As long as she was cleared, you can't call her a drug cheat, because you don't know anything compared to the body that cleared her, you can continue wailing for all I care
It is not a big deal if there is a petition to Sport Body that an athlete is using drug. The sport body acts on petition and clear the athlete if no drug is found. Mind you, this is different from general Medical Drug Test conducted on all the athletes. Many world champion have had to be tested for drugs before a major tournament and after a major tournament.

After she broke World record, some defeated Nigerians at home fighting psychological war of over four decades said she used drug, some of them said she used Juju.

I saw them at Ibadan using Yoruba names to register for NIN. Also at Abuja in 2007 I saw them using Yoruba names on their International Passports and applying for UK Visa with Yoruba names. They are doing all those nonsense to camouflage in order to influence and blackmail the Yorubas from within.

They have captured Social Media with their illicit funds. That is why they ban and suspend accounts so as to have free flow of propaganda without opposition. The owner of such Social Media in South West is playing with fire.

After more than 9 hours of this 100metres hurdle event, I never expected it on nairaland frontpage, but was surprised that events that happened around the same period and after the hurdle was on front page. We are monitoring events and situations as they unfold.

She was coming 1st and 2nd during heats on a lucky run with longer finish time.
There was a heat she came 1st and her finish time was longer than that of someone who came 3rd in another heat.

Her qualification time for the final was ranked 8th and she ran the final on lane 9 to finish 6th
Only a miracle can make her win a medal with this exegesis.
She is a special and dedicated athlete who defiled all odds with aspiration for glory in Nigerian colors.

This hero should be celebrated
She gave her all
Your analysis is 100% correct. The NOC know this ahead of the competition. Most of the people here will never see your observations. I attended University in South East several years ago where I spent 6 years, I observed so many things. The reasoning and their logic are very adverse. The same thing is applicable to Stationary Stores Football Club of Lagos in those days . They can never believe Stationary Stores lost a match on a clean ground. They will always blame Referee or Linesman and they are ready to fight Referee, Linesmen and anybody with contrary views.
