cursiva:Which Eleme people? This small boy, what concerns Eleme people with Refinery? Eleme people also stopped Kaduna Refinery. Yaradua government have nothing to offer Nigeria. They just want to undo all the Reforms carried out by OBASANJO and loot and squander Nigeria resources which they ended up doing with Jonathan |
Cooldude90:They are frustrated. They have no news. |
Great Lagos Countdown 2025 yesterday was historically an event that shows Lagos as a unique city. Nairaland will not write anything about it when it is still hot. If stampede had occurred Nairaland would have brought it forward immediately. It seems those that sponsors nairaland dictates what to post on frontpage and the time it should be posted. They also regulate pro Tinubu's account like banning, suspension and outright modification or deletion of postings during tough political analysis. |
Sannisege:Osinbajo and I are from the same place. He cannot win a Local Government Chairman election. Soname (Betnaija) is more acceptable and will defeat Osinbajo in any election in that place. Babafemi Ojudu cannot win a Local Government Chairman election in Ekiti, he rode on Tinubu's political machinery to win the Senatorial election. He cannot win any election again. He is a betrayal just like his master. He fell politically and is on the ground. Ojudu is still nursing his defeat. No Ogun State politician will vote for Osinbajo at any election. |
GanagiBitrus:I am very sorry. I just saw your initial comment. His case was like the case of a man in Abia State that named his DOG Buhari and wrote it on placard and placed it on the dog. That was when KANU (I P O B S) was operating from Abia and leading strong opposition against Buhari. When he was arrested and made to face Law. He said he named his DOG Buhari because of his love and passion for President Buhari. Everybody knows that was an escape route. The man was set free based on that confession but every Nigerian knows he was lying but needs an escape route. |
GanagiBitrus:Please, I am very sorry for my comment. Someone earlier said 80% of Social Media users are fools. Based on what you wrote above, it seems the guy is right. It seems you believed he was carrying out a social media experiment. Don't you think only fools will believe he was carrying out of Social Media experiment. Experienced Police Special Fraud Unit officers or experienced military Intelligence Officers know he was not carrying out any Social Media experiment. He was scared of being arrested and made to face law by Police that's why he looks for escape route . Immediately Police announced that they were not aware of any missing 180 million naira belonging to VDM, at that stage, it was getting closer to being interrogated though no official report made to Police by him. He quickly said part of the money has been recovered to give impression that recovery process is ongoing. The public backlash and the implications made him to come and say it was an experiment. Social Media experiment is an escape route from being interrogated by Law Enforcement Agency and being made to face Law. Based on comments here, you can still see about 80% of Social Media users fools. |
LabStores:It is not unnecessary comparison, the Minister is just being analytical. Stampede occurs in Europe and US and even in China. Poor Organization, greediness and selfishness cause stampede. Justrite Supermarket Security Officers and Managers at IBAFO should be commended for proactively prevented a situation that could have led to stampede on Christmas day. Other Shopping Malls should also be commended. The crowds this year at the Shopping Malls that I visited is the largest till date despite people complaining about economic crises . Despite the blackmailing of the Federal Government for events that happened before Christmas, I witnessed several near stampede scenarios on Christmas day. If the three events of Ibadan, Abuja and Obijackson (Anambra) had not happened the security operators at these places wouldn't have engaged Crowd Control Mechanism and it could have led to stampede with several casualties. On Christmas day, several Shopping Malls were full and overcrowded despite the cry of economic hardship. It got to a level we were not allowed to enter about Four popular big shopping Malls belonging to different franchise. We were determined to see what is happening, from Akowonjo to Ikeja, to Ojodu to Isheri ,Olowora (Omole phase 2) and finally to IBAFO. It was at IBAFO (Justrite Supermarket) that we got frustrated and turned back. Out of frustration, I wanted to fight the Security men at Justrite Supermarket IBAFO but I remembered it was the same everywhere we had visited. The Supervisor told us that inside is overcrowded and their cashiers are overwhelmed with large crowd awaiting their turn to pay and move out. He said people on queue are becoming impatient and that any further stress can lead to Stampede. People were still standing outside the entrance waiting for inside to free. We saw people that had finished shopping coming outside and begged to be allowed inside but the security operators refused. He said they need at least 25% of people inside to finish before people could be allowed inside. At the previous Malls visited we couldn't interact with the Security Officers when we saw people that were prevented from entering standing outside. Stampede is not necessarily because of economic situation, it is because of greediness on the part of people and poor organization of the event. Social Media help information to spread very fast and different people with dubious characters and greedy people take advantage of the information to invade the event center. |
Konquest:Most of you are not exposed politically. Everybody that is politically experienced know Buhari never supported Osinbajo but Lawan. They started by picking APC Chairman by consensus because Tinubu's candidate will win. In fact, it was not a consensus, the Chairman was solely picked by Buhari and his cabal . Babafemi Ojudu is still nursing his defeat and fall. This is a man that benefitted so much from Tinubu but later betrayed him. He was one of the members of ACN faction of APC that gang up against Tinubu at the Presidency. Being a journalist he was their spokesman. I wept bitterly because I have never expected Osinbajo could betray Tinubu. Osinbajo and Ojudu thought the handpicking of the Chairman instead of election is to favour Osinbajo not knowing the chairman is handpicked to announce a northern candidate (Lawan). Ojudu said he never benefitted anything from Tinubu. He said he is an activist who have been a political icon before meeting Tinubu. He said they supported each other. I never read it until I went to Ado Ekiti. We were at hotel when the issue was being discussed, that was when Presidential Primary scheming and politics were very tough. Akeredolu tried. May his soul continue to rest. Also, may the soul of those that lost their lives at Owo Church terrorists attack during the APC primary rest in peace. Ojudu doesn't have any shame, otherwise, he shouldn't have come up with this tale. He is never happy Tinubu won. |
Eriokanmi:You just exposed your folly on a very important issue. At times, it is very good to keep quiet on any issue you don't know anything about. Having international exposure by traveling to US, Europe and may be Asia and having business partners did not mean you are intelligent. We have many foolish people that are opportuned or by providence have such opportunities but remain foolish. If you have visited Niamey , you should have known differences between underdeveloped, developing and a failed Nation. I am very surprised that despite being held as one of the most exposed and matured person on nairaland you have chosen this topic to expose your ignorance. Congratulations. |
boxypane:I have read the article, what is in the article that is different from what the guy said. You are the one that probably lack knowledge on Regional and International politics. Are the Northern legislators and elites not sentimental by holding the entire Nigeria to ransom on issues affecting Niger Republic without consideration for the feeling of the Southern Nigeria? What are the rudiments of Regional and International politics concerning a country indirectly dictating a bilateral relationship between another country and a foreign country? What are the rudiments of Regional Cooperations between a Country blackmailing another country . Will a Regional Body or International Body succumb to crude and uncivilized threat and blackmail from country that belongs to another ethno - religious body? Most articles in the Media on International politics are mostly influenced and sponsored |
iwaeda:Stampede happens everywhere but the causes vary. Social Media help information to spread very fast and different people with dubious characters and greedy people take advantage of the information to invade the event center. Economic hardship but Press (Punch, Vanguard, etc) failed to visit Shopping Malls and cover what is happening. During the last Ileya Festival, few days to the festival, Press carried information on high price of Rams and Cows and that of transportation but a day to the Eid UL Kabir (Ileya Festival) and few days after they failed to inform us that at various Kara Markets they had about 95% sales of Rams and Cows, the best sales till date. They forgot to inform us that despite high transportation cost, transporters had large turnouts of travellers. Apart from Social Media, the press didn't tell us this year Ojude Oba at Ijebu Ode is the best till date . |
arkad139:What has your region contributed to Nigeria? Bill Gate visited DANGOTE recently. They both visited Tinubu. Bill Gate complained about poor Tax system in Nigeria. DANGOTE was there. So, Tax Reform is a punishment to other regions. Is Tax system a punishment in China, US, Canada, UK & Europe? You only want oil money. Developed Countries have good Tax system. What you want is for humanitarian ministry to collect billions for States and more than 80% entered into private pocket as witnessed under Buhari. Let each state generate Tax. At last, we shall see how Nigeria ends. |
eldoradoxx:The North is the Parasite and that is why they are afraid of reforms. Ekiti has potentials to develop its VAT base . It is not about what they have now but about potentials for development. Once people know they can get more from what the state can generate, a lot of investment will come and the state will develop |
ElevationD:Lagos is not supposed to have its VAT share reduced. The burden Lagos is carrying, no State in Nigeria and Africa carry such burden. Ghanaians friends told me few years back that only 25% of Lagos population is captured during Census because they had been in Nigeria for over 30 years. He said between the hours of 8a.m in the morning and 10p.m in the evening, about 75% of people in Lagos are visitors either coming in or going out and not part of Census figures. The last solution is just for South West to leave Nigeria. Those Yoruba elders and elites who gave reason for Yoruba to remain in Nigeria are gradually seeing reasons why Nigeria cannot work. Chief Afe Babalola who is talking about constitution reform and return to Regional System that was the basis of our Independence. They will not allow it to work. Yorubas don't have anything to gain being part of Nigeria. |
OIunanjo:The arrest was made after MURIC request. The fact that you are just seeing MURIC request on Social Media does not mean it is just being made. If Okija stampede people or Abuja people have been arrested and Ibadan people are left free for days, your people would have been shouting marginalization, victimization, tribalism. We are not moved by your cry |
PUNCH Newspaper located at Magboro by Lagos Ibadan expressway opposite Arepo in Ogun State had a traumatic yuletide but the events at Ojodu, Olowora, Isheri, Arepo, Magboro, Ibafo and Mowe is that of Celebrations. Justrite Supermarket at Ojodu (Berger) and IBAFO had the wildest and largest patronage they have never had since they were established. It got to a level, customers were prevented from entering because no space inside and the cashiers have been overwhelmed by crowded customers awaiting their turn to pay and move out. The same thing happened at Wisebuyers, Supershoppy, Buyright and every other Malls at Olowora, Isheri, Arepo, Magboro and IBAFO. Mowe was also very ecstasy. Though I never liked PUNCH. I stopped reading Punch some years ago because of Bimbola Adelakun articles. I never liked PUNCH Newspaper but being on the Lagos Ibadan expressway around Kara Isheri, I had expected them to do a deep political and economic analysis of silent economic reengineering witnessed during the last Eid Al Mubarak (Ileya Festival) and the Ojude Oba festival of IjebuOde but they looked the other way round. Somebody said PUNCH Newspaper painted a gloomy picture of the Muslim festival weeks and days to the festival but after the festival they forgot to inform Nigerians that within their vicinity at Kara Isheri magic happened. In the history of Kara Isheri for decades, they have never received large consignment of Cows and Rams as they received for 2024 celebration and at very high price but they sold about 96% of those cows and Rams, the biggest sales ever till date. Ojude Oba 2024 is also the best till date. The economy is changing its dynamics. If PUNCH had a traumatic yuletide, other institutions and individuals have the best celebrations till date. The sales volume achieved by major Shopping Malls in 2024 far exceeded any previous years. In fact, all the Malls were overwhelmed by crowded customers with money to procure items. This has never happened before. |
PastorKosi:Amen . May the Lord grant your request in Jesus Name, Amen . |
Elzazzi:Thanks. He doesn't need to enter Iyana Ipaja as suggested by the first person. He should just enter Obalende/CMS bus at Ikeja. From Obalende to Ajah and to Epe. |
SirLiquidGold:You are right but when it becomes a competition and as a yardstick for showing to the world how financially strong your institution has become, then, it has become another thing. |
NoIgboSoundTueh:Well, you are right. What about the man who inherited the liabilities? What about the man who is paying the debt? What about the man who inherited a government whose 96% of the budget is devoted to servicing the debts with no provisions for the clearance of backlogs of foreign exchange commitments to Airlines, Pharmaceutical companies and other multinational corporations? |
Bobloco:What is KOOF again? At Ibadan? KOOF? Una weldone o |
illicit:Hamzat should have learnt from Kola Lawuyi experience. He should have considered the Crown and the gods. Not all that glitters is gold. The gods are not happy about all those social media consolation show off. |
CyrusVI:Mr President. You have worked very hard. IBB said he was threatened not to handover power to MKO ABIOLA. In the historical Presidential Debate between Chief ABIOLA and Bashir Tofa, I remembered vividly Bashir Tofa said he is going to peg Naira to Dollar. He said it should be =N=10 to $1. Chief ABIOLA said a Glasgow Trained Accountant cannot peg Naira to Dollar. He said it cannot work. He said nobody has come out to say the exact value (real value) of NAIRA to Dollar as determined by market forces. He said he would work on the forces and parameters that determine the value of NAIRA to Dollar for Naira to come down. The debate was explosive. Architect Tom Ikimi was on the side of Tofa (NRC) that night. Architect Tom Ikimi asked a question, ABIOLA said he doesn't answer uncivilized question. Tom Ikimi got angry. After the break, when the debate reconvened, Chief ABIOLA apologized to Architect Tom Ikimi for calling his question uncivilized. I was very young then, but I cannot forget the debate. That debate showed the sophistication, exposure and high intellect of Chief ABIOLA. Those that opposed ABIOLA cannot withstand his sophistication, exposure, intellect and international connection that's why he was stopped by all means. The last 18 months of Tinubu government has shown the courage, intellect and resilience of a man determined to move ahead against all odds, this is a testament of what ABIOLA would have brought to governance. Is Nigeria ready to move forward? 2025 will determine . Welcome home Mr President. Brainstorming session continues as many politicians, captain of industries and technocrats gather again in Lagos to develop strategy for tasks ahead. |

OkpaNsukkaisBae:Do Southern Nigeria have to inherit Niger Republic, Burkina Faso and Mali enemies ? |
Arostar2023:You are a frustrated person. As I have said severally, attending University in IBO land several years ago made me to identify fools. |
SadiqBabaSani:I think Israel, US, France and Germany should focus the attention of their Intelligence Agencies on Northern Nigeria. On December 7, there was a media report that no Foreign Military Base will be allowed in Nigeria. The link is below https://www.nairaland.com/8287248/no-foreign-military-base-allowed/1#133200092 I said the Northern Elites told Tinubu not to allow US and France move their base to Nigeria as they are being driven from some Africa countries with affiliations to Northern Nigeria. I said in South West Nigeria we have no problem with US and France having their military base in our region. I said this because of our Atlantic Ocean and Air Space and because of encroachment from terrorism activities in these African Countries. While I considered it as disrespectful on the part of Kemi by replying VP Shettima, I also seem to see reason in her response as a Yoruba lady. The North is always placing the interest of Niger Republic, Chad, Northern Cameroun , Guinea Bissau, Mali, Senegal, Sudan and Burkina Faso above that of the Southern Nigeria. In fact, the Northern Elites don't even know the Southern Nigeria exist when fighting for the interest of Niger Republic and Chad. During Buhari regime the Governor of Bauchi said they want to use Nigeria's resources to prosper the interest of the Fulanis across Africa. Rather than Bode George defending Obasanjo who is a coward enemy of the South West, the retired Military Officers from the South West should get their acts together. Gen Akinrinade (Akinrogun of IFE) is already old. Prof Soyinka is already old. Baba Akintoye is already old. This transaction between Azman and Iran though not officially confirmed is more than Business . I know the US CIA and Israeli Intelligence Agencies will get the entire facts. I will stop here. |
DeathToRiggers:So it is a propaganda for Nigeria to fulfill her obligation to ECOWAS? What is the meaning of propaganda? I know all of you. It is a great news to you some years back when ECOWAS Court awarded $288 million against Nigeria in favour of the IBOS over BIAFRA war. The money UN, EU , AU and other International Organization and Regional Bodies use to sustain the organization and developmental projects are from commitments from member States. In some of these organizations, some rich members often offset some commitments of poorer members. |
DeathToRiggers:You are right, the spare parts market has been there for nearly a century but Ibadan must develop to a beautiful planned city. This is what Nasir El Rufai did as Minister of FCT. It was not easy, about two of his children fell sick and died during that period. WIKE is also being courageous to make Abuja a befitting City . Gen Musa Bamaiyi and Prof Dora Akunyili would have still been alive if they were not involved in battles as NDLEA Chairman and as NAFDAC Chairman respectfully at very tough period. Agodi is one of areas that can be considered appropriate for modern development. Agodi , Abayomi Estate up to Sawmill on the right. On the left is Agodi, Idi Ape to Iwo Road. This area with Agodi GRA up to Bodija should be a district. That dirty market can no longer be in that place. |
groovie:This is an indirectly sponsored post. The contract should be cancelled immediately. Firstly, what is the duration of the contract? Secondly, the office of AGF and Naval Intelligence Agency should investigate any renewal few weeks to May 29, 2023 handing over date, thirdly, contract cannot be absolutely permanent or irrevocable, the Office of AGF should study the document and stop the contract. Those talking nonsense are small boys. Till date, estimated $100 billion looted under Jonathan and the mismanagement that took place under Buhari leading to handing over of government with 96% of budget devoted to debt servicing and cashless crisis where you spend hours and days to withdraw 5K from your bank and 2K from a third party bank or you use 8K to collect 5K from POS operators. We have backlog of foreign currency which multinationals cannot remmit abroad and foreign debts awaited to be serviced by a new government. It is only ingenuity that brought us this far . |
ogaemma:Omo IBO, the best thing that happened to me was attending University in IBO land several years ago. Most of our non IBO Alumnus also have the same experience. Mallam Abdulrazak was telling me the same thing in Kano last week. The best thing that ever happened to us not because of special benefits but because it made us understand the IBOS thinking and Culture. That type of thinking is seen and felt while in the Campus and within the cities. If we had not attended that Institution in IBO land we wouldn't have known how selfish and crude their School of thoughts have been. Only IBO man can think that an Industrial Park in the University located in a rural State seeking for Industrial development is not for the benefits of humanity. Only IBO man will think a man going to 100 years is not planning for the future of the University after his demise on earth and not planning to turn the University to a Technical Incubation Center but all he is doing is to make money. Only IBO man will think about the development of the University as a development of the Yoruba man . |
niyisky:The IBOS that cried about Oando acquisition of Agip upstream assets have nothing to say now. Even Illiterate IBO traders and those commercial drivers carried the propaganda on the streets and in the markets . |
