That your Second paragraph is very important. Igbo youth are more informed and Igbocentric that Yorubas.

Yorubas too get bastards! Chai!
The Igbo youth are not more informed than the Yorubas. What you called Igbocentric is self centeredness and racism the extreme traits of tribalism. I and my other two friends that visited the Beach about 10 days ago spent 6 years in IBO land. In fact we visited the place because of the demolition. We found out only fragment part of Landmark on the beach is affected. There are other facilities there belonging to other people that are affected. We know them (IBOS) some decades ago as students.

The benefit of that road to Lagos development is immeasurable. It is more than 5000% of what that IBO man landmark is making there.

The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) in 2021 advised Buhari to consider allowing the IBOS to go. IBO man cannot come to Lagos to dictate development to us. The entire place would have been submerged if not for the courage and resilience of Tinubu and the Chagoury brothers.

The IBO man that created nuisances and embarrassment to Tinubu and the entire Lagos people because of Lagos Beach did not realize that the entire place was extension of Maroko before. People were living there. Raji Rasaki demolished Maroko. My father and many other people have houses at Maroko that were destroyed.

Professor Soyinka is very old now. The Yoruba elites need to unite to chart a course for Yorubas out of Nigeria. Tinubu's presidency will expose a lot of things to the elites now.

It is now very clear that Chinedu cannot rule Lagos. We have seen where they are going.

Mami Chula is a much bigger resort, Landmark is like a mushroom business in comparison to Mami Chula yet Mr Ariyo is not blackmailing the federal government. The most worrying thing is that the victim mentality is eating deep into their younger generation.
I visited that place with two of my friends about 10 days ago. One worked with ICJ in Hague while the other is with AU at Addis. We were both students several years ago in a University in IBO land. They chatted this morning again about EFCC out of Court settlement with Cubana Chief Priest.

The Yorubas need to chart a course out of Nigeria. Our nature doesn't work with the people we are grouped with in Nigeria. The IBOS are now trying to win over ignorance, naive and confused Yoruba youths.

OBASANJO tried Sunday Afolabi, Tafa Balogun and Mrs Bolaji Osomo. I was in Abuja ( NASS ) during Yaradua's trial of Prof (Mrs) Nike Grange and Iyabo Obasanjo. I witnessed the travail of Patricia Etteh.

If Bobrisky were to be IBO and Chief Priest Yoruba, the Social Media would have been on fire by now. We spent 6 years with them, we know them.

Few days ago, I reminded people that Chief Afe Babalola's first office was among the demolished buildings at Ibadan for the building of Adamasingba Stadium. I don't know how an economic immigrant to Lagos will tie down the development, government and the people because of his business .

The Yoruba elites need to think deeply.

This page can spend hours on two or three pages because it concerns YORUBA and Voice of Reasoning. If it were the other people, before one hour, you are on the 10th page.

Lagos-Calabar coastal highway is far more important than any Landmark beach front or whatever he claims is on the coastline...

The coastal highway will open up multi-million and multi-billion dollar investments along the route that will create x1000 more jobs than what Landmark is claiming now.
LASG will still demolish the place and all buildings along that corridor when the yellow rail line starts, all the noise they are making is initial gra gra.
That boy Tayo is suffering from Juvenile exuberant and deliquescent. He was a small street boy when Tinubu and Obasanjo was fighting over conservation and preservation of Victoria Island from being submerged by the Ocean. It is even very absurd that one person is taking the entire Lagos for a ride on our land. He is holding Lagos down for development because of his business.

If VI had been submerged can we get Landmark? To worsen the matter he is not the only person affected. Is it because he is an IBO ? The indigenous Lagos people should never take it lightly with him. He wants to dictate governance to Lagos people. That is why they want Chinedu as governor. Their plan failed.

The protection is not yet complete. Phase 2 should be able to complete the protection. Opportunities along that corridor on completion of the road project is enormous.

Landmark is not the only property affected in that axis. They came to Lagos with nothing and are made now they are blackmailing the city that feeds them and abusing her people, the land and ocean and the lagoon will fight them at the end.

What annoyed me most was that we were direct victims of the ocean encroachment. I witnessed everything before we left when Ahmadu Bello way became single lane. Nobody was willing to buy properties even at giveaway price.

Actually they just want to expand the Eko Atlantic, and they needed a perfect excuse to swallow the beach ... sadly I hope they don't swallow all other beaches . ... Although we must all wake up to the reality that Lagos is going to be a vertical city twenty years from now and those locations would be prime location ...
What is wrong with the expansion of Eko Atlantic City? Is it not for the development of the city? So one person want to hold the entire Lagos down because he is hosted in Lagos. If Landmark were to belong to a Yoruba can we hear this type of nonsense?

Antony Anenih is late. Chief Ogunlewe and OBASANJO are still alive. When VI became like a ghost city and nobody was willing to buy any property on the Island and businesses were moving out because of Ocean encroachment that boy Tayo was on the streets. If Eko Atlantic City had not been created by courage and resilience of some people nobody will be talking about Landmark today.

It is a lie. It is the IBOS that destroy Lagos. Lagos is a market to many countries in Africa. Before the invasion of Lagos by the IBOS, Lagos was home to many people from different part of Africa.

The Ghanaians and SA don't want them. They only tolerate them because of Nigeria.

If they are driven out of Lagos, many countries in Africa will drive them away.

Blackmailers are not needed in Lagos. They are creating nuisances in Lagos.

The woman has a salon in one Africa country. She should advice her investors to move to the African country. Lagos would be more organized if their kind of investors leave Lagos. That is why they are been harassed in Ghana and South Africa until Nigeria intervened.

Before they created the nuisances in Lagos, the City was very organized. They should leave we don't want them. Responsible investors will come to Lagos. They are gradually turning Jo'burg to Lagos.

Lagos has three International boundaries - Land, Air and Sea representing the Triangular forces of the Heavens which are Sun, Moon and Star. The markets in Lagos serve many countries in Africa . The Wealth of Lagos is Divinely invoked by Saint Moses Orimolade and other Saints at the Ocean ( Beach). SBJ Oshoffa also invoked the wealth by the Sea. After the decimation of Lagos by Abacha, the HOLY Ghost Congress of 1998 December at LEKKI BEACH kickstarted the revival of the present development.

They came with nothing to Lagos and are made, they are now blackmailing the land and abuse her people. The land will revolt and fight them at the end.

Why are you talking like you were born yesterday? This country is littered and dotted by abandoned PPP projects, which are neither new nor are they genuinely 'private partnerships'. Even going by your modest estimates, this highway will cost the government over N600 million per kilometre even before inflation is factored in. Can you not think of a thousand things those funds could be used to better your own local community?
Mention one abandoned PPP FG road project. Mention one. Lagos to Ibadan (South West) was on PPP to Bi-Courtney. Under Jonathan, FG breached and frustrated the MM2 terminal built by Bi-Courtney on PPP which discouraged investors confidence. Apart from Lagos to Ibadan under PPP during OBJ and Yaradua Jonathan government, mention other FG major road under PPP.

To me, the best the 15% FG's commitment can be used for is this road because there is no any other road project where investors are willing to source for 85%. I don't have any other immediate priority except this road

How much is injected into the project? FG commitment is only 15% the remaining 85% is sourced by the private investor. Which major road project is funded that way in the history of Nigeria?

Is the road project budget up to the proposed Lagos Calabar Railway project cost by Jonathan and Buhari? Is Coastal road not supposed to be high? If the Coastal Railway project has been awarded by Jonathan or Buhari structures on the pathway would have still been destroyed .

Which region is landlocked? Have you been to UAE before?UAE that dredged to the ocean bed and invited a pull of ocean to their doorstep and turned it into a world class sea port? River Niger was better, compared to the arid( desert) land where they created a pathway for the ocean to reach them. Yaradua was a president Nigeria never had. He approved the dredging of the river Niger up to lokoja. I remember that day. Successive governments simply abandoned the project.

We're just not ready for growth in Nigeria yet. In less than a decade, they'd make double that investment in profit if they can dredge. It can be extended to Lokoja, which happens to be Anambra's neighbor . I've been to the river Niger spot in lokoja where there's confluence hotel. I once saw a boat that came from onitsha and returning with passengers.

Tribalism, bigotry and the likes have caused Nigeria a lot of setbacks, which had caused several nations who couldn't wear our shoes to leave us behind. Sadly, we're yet to learn any lesson from it. This cuts across all tribes. No one is exempted.
Was Dubai entirely landlocked before the dredging? I don't want to take you on this. Ever since I left nairaland (babaolofin), I only restrict myself to the issue my friends put on my notice.

Why are people complaining about this project now? When Atlantic Ocean that was almost 2 kilometers to main road in the 70s encroached to main road and claimed half of Ahmadu Bello way OBASANJO was fighting TINUBU calling Lagos a jungle. Several people were delivering lectures on how the Ocean would submerge the entire Lagos Island. Nobody gave suggestions on the way forward apart from Chagoury brothers and Tinubu. Most of the place became dilapidated and people were moving out.

The suggestion all of you are giving now should have been given to Yaradua, Jonathan or Buhari and not Tinubu.

Abacha made effort to dredge River Niger and River Benue to create Seaports and kill Lagos ports. Late Chief Gamaliel Onosode the Chairman of Niger Delta Environmental Survey (NDES) engaged international consultants to carry out environmental impact assessment on the environment and the affected villages. FG did not do any impact assessment they just want Seaport. They have instructed Embassies to leave Lagos by force. They instructed all Banks to move their Headquarters out of Lagos. They also ordered oil companies to move their headoffices out of Lagos. Chief Gamaliel Onosode placed his life on the line to defend the affected Niger Delta villages and people. The EIA by NDES under Chief Onosode leadership created problem for the contractor but Abacha was adamant. There was bottleneck for the dredging before he died in 1998. Yaradua came approved establishment of University of Petroleum in Kaduna while PTI Effurun was dying. It led to serious agitation before PTI was changed to University of Petroleum when he became sick. He resumed the prospecting for Oil in the North which was suspended under OBJ after billions of dollars have been sunk for decades. He also began the EIA for the dredging which Obasanjo also did. He abandoned OBASANJO OLOKOLA LNG, Sango Otta road and Abeokuta expressway.

Nobody can stop this project. Every government has its priority and plans.

If Lagos were to be in the North, nobody can have the audacity to challenge the project.

Dubai is part of the 7 Emirates in UAE with population less than a small area in Lagos. The situation in UAE as at the time of development is not what is obtainable here.

I was discussing this with someone some time ago. instead building a new coastal road, kaduna rail line should have been linked to itakpe and itakpe to ibadan. its just simple logic that flies over tinubus head. that would have solved a million and one problems
What will that achieve? When Jonathan and Buhari were considering Coastal Railway project from Lagos to Calabar why didn't they think about Kaduna to Itakpe, Itakpe to Ibadan? Over 14 billion dollars wasted on Ajaokuta Steel, Buhari still paid hundreds of millions of dollars to the last Indian Company.

Thank God, the GA people of Ghana (Accra) recently visited IFE their ancestral home. Lagos to Accra is shorter than Lagos to Abuja. We have coastal link and Seaports along Lagos, Cotonou, Togo and Tema (Ghana). There is the AU funded Dakar to Lagos Highway Project from Dakar, Banjul, Abidjan up to Lagos on the ECOWAS route. The ECCA ( Central Africa body) have projects to Calabar. The development along the coastal line up to Equatorial Guinea must be opened up.

What is the economic benefit of Itakpe railway to Ibadan?

Thanks for reminding me that the project is being implemented by Nigerian company. Africa countries - Gambia, Ghana, Tanzania, etc know that Chinese grants is not grant but poverty and lack of technologies give no option. Railway from Calabar to Lagos would have been more inexpensive and more valuable because of the haulage and cargoes. roads cost more in time money and even in terms of life. More people die of road accidents than that of a railway.
Kai..can we survive this regime?
Railway from Lagos to Ibadan is done by Buhari. Reconstruction of Lagos to Ibadan expressway done by Buhari. The importance of the railway line is just 3%. The road is 97%. The railway is almost non existence to most people in South West.

The same would be applicable to Lagos Calabar Railway project. The cost reviewed by Jonathan and later Buhari is still high. The Rate of Return on investment is very low on such railway line and payback period almost very long or non existence.

One important point the IBOS intentionally covered up on the Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway Project is the fact that FG's commitment is only 15% of the total cost. The remaining 85% would be sourced by the investor. If CHINA gives you 50% grant on railway project, just know that the cost is already inflated by 100%.

Propaganda cannot stop this project because of the huge economic potential it holds. The Coastal areas need to be linked together for explosion of economic potentials. For Jonathan to have considered the railway project and Buhari also reviewed it shows the potentials inherent in it. Road Projects open up access to limitless possibilities. That is why they are crying and wailing. The project is moving ahead. Propaganda on Nairaland cannot stop it.

This road has been on ground for decades even Late MKO ABIOLA mentioned Coastal Highway Road construction in Developmental Agenda in 1993. If this road is not done now more buildings will be encroaching on the Coastal Right of Way.

Landmark should just sue the FG and ask for compensation for his business. If that road runs through his beach front, that business is totally gone!
Who sold the beach front to him?

Mami Chula Beach Facility is the majorly affected facility on the corridor within this few kilometers. Mr Bolaji Ariyo a Lagosian is not sueing FG for the development of the road.

Chief Afe Babalola's first office used to be among the Estates of Late Prince DSD Oladeinde at Adamasingba, Ibadan. The Estate and other buildings were demolished for building of Lekan Salami Stadium.

Soludo also demolished structures for new development. It is not enough to blackmail Lagos on Social Media but hinder its development .

You have not made this comment during several IBOS victimization crying.

For record purposes, if it happens in IBO land, there would have been chaos on Social Media. If Bobrisky were to be IBO, the IBOs in Nigeria and the Diaspora would have created crisis. T

To the Yorubas, it doesn't make meaning. Moving NAVTRAC from Apapa to Rivers is just normal thing.

In 1999, OBASANJO announced the relocation of NPA and NCAA to Lagos from Abuja it created tension with Northern elites and politicians querying OBASANJO authority to relocate them. OBASANJO was adamant.

Hadi Srika came ordered them to relocate back to Abuja.

Abacha moved key defence Agencies and institutions from Lagos. Abacha moved some key Agriculture agencies from Ibadan to Abuja. Agriculture agencies are scattered in some parts of Nigeria, it is the key agencies at Ibadan that he relocated.

Abacha threatened Banks to move their Headquarters from Lagos to Abuja. The threat was so much on Banks. The Banks escaped with his death. OBASANJO in 1999, it is the turn of Tinubu now because of CBN and Aviation this time.

If Yorubas unite to leave Nigeria, nobody can stop them except the Forces of Heaven . Yorubas don't even know anything is happening.

Indeed, well said.

Ah! I emphasized on Victoria Island because it is the immediate location that was affected by the yearly floods on Modupe Osikoya, Ahmadu Bello Way, etc, around the Bar Beach on VI. Other areas such as Lekki/Ajah that you mentioned were indeed threatened with being submerged by the Atlantic ocean but the foresight of the then Governor Tinubu of Lagos State to reclaim the land or areas lost to the ocean surges and create Eko Atlantic City in partnership with Gilbert Chagoury's company saved the day with former POTUS Bill Clinton in attendance at the inauguration of construction work on the project.

The reclaimed land area called Eko Atlantic used to be undisturbed SOLID LAND back in the 1950s but gradually got submerged into the sea. A lot of the younger folks criticizing Eko Atlantic don't even know this FACT. They WRONGLY assume that the land was sand filled but in actual sense, it's the sand on the ocean floor that had been submerged that was dredged back up to the surface with advanced equipment to reclaim the original lost land that existed back in the 1950s and before that era. Eko Atlantic was then fortified round with shoreline protection or water barriers to withstand the most severe kind of ocean surges in the near future. It's truly an iconic project.
Sir, thanks for this information. It is very useful. Sir, can I have your permission to use some information here for reference purposes?

When I was a little boy we visited the beach, the beach was about 2 kilometers to the main road. You have to trek a distance to get to the Ocean. Later, before reclamation, after Naval Dockyard, just immediately after Oceanography School junction, half of Ahmadu Bello way had been taken. From Best Western Hotel or former IMB plaza you can see the Ocean.

Gilbert & Ronald are more like Nigerians. Their parents lived most of their lives in Nigeria.

All the opposition to the project is because of Atlantic City, Lekki Deep Seaport and access route to Dangote Refineries. They are particularly sad and bittered when the pictures of the Atlantic City when fully developed appeared on Social Media. I think somebody used the picture of similar city somewhere and called it Eko Atlantic City which generated a lot of commendations across Africa and criticism from Nigerians.

The good thing is that Obasanjo is alive to witness everything.

Propaganda
Propaganda for what is on record?

Your late Uncle Chukwumerije started propaganda in Nigeria. We were told he was the Biafra Director of Information. While thousands of Biafra people were dying he was boasting and bragging on Biafra Radio that Biafra soldiers have killed Nigerian soldiers. He said they killed Murtala Muhammed and the soldiers. He said so many things. He said they killed Benjamin Adekunle and the entire Marine Commando .

It is not in our characters to spread propaganda. I believe the way things are going another Chukwumerije will carry another propaganda again. During war, victimization crying will no longer work.

Succinctly stated.

I've been quietly reading this thread from page 1 and you're one of the few who CLEARLY articulated your views on this thread topic by using verifiable figures and emphasizing on the PPP nature and funding sources for the project.

Majority of those who are attacking this Coastal highway construction are from the South East and one of them bluntly revealed what's hurting a lot of them by blurted out that the road should have passed through the Ibo South East.

The fact is that this Coastal highway construction had already been planned for decades by previous Nigerian goverments with Jonathan and Buhari bringing the project to public knowledge, BUT the President Tinubu administration kick-started it in order to accelerate the opening of a third economic road and rail link since the North and West are connected already, the North and East are connected, therefore there is an urgent need to connect the South of South states and the West of Nigeria together to complete the road linkages for accelerated development of communities and stimulation of commerce.

Many of these uninformed critics here also do NOT realize that the reclaiming of the land that had disappeared into the ocean to form Eko Atlantic City HELPED to protect the entire Victoria Island from disappearing under water. If Eko Atlantic had not been built to act as a BUFFER, Victoria Island would have been gone due to severe climate change issues. Though it's expensive to buy land there, it is what it is... and would gradually develop as MANY entities have already bought land there at Eko Atlantic, most significant of all is the U.S. Embassy which bought huge tracts of land there and it shows how dear Eko Atlantic is to the U.S. goverment in terms of real estate development.
Thanks sir. I am not a Social Media person but have few young people that are always on Social Media. Secondly, I spent 6 years in Federal University in IBO land several years ago for my First Degree, I know them very well, most of them are never objective and that is why Alumni Associations of their Universities are not working properly. There is no any logic or reasoning that is workable to them except it is IBOS before others (IBOS).

The Yorubas need to unite to chart a course out of Nigeria. The IBOS hijacked Jonathan government and wasted/looted over $100 billion dollars, spent Obasanjo money in the reserve and borrowed heavily without saving one Kobo. Buhari government borrowed money to complete some of the projects met at inception and others 20% stage. The North knows what happened under Jonathan and use Buhari government to get back and kickstart their projects and empowered themselves.

Coming back to this project, MKO ABIOLA mentioned Coastal Highway Project during his campaign though I never knew what he meant.
This shows that the project has been on ground for decades. If it is not done now, people will continue to encroach on the land.

On Atlantic City, you are a bit wrong sir, it is not only VI that would have been submerged by Atlantic Ocean, it is the entire VI, Lekki and Ajah.

The Bar Beach close to my base encroached over 2 kilometers to the main road of Ahmadu Bello way with ocean surge threatening VI, Lekki & Ajah. The only solution was for those fighting TINUBU to put stones and rocks as ocean breakers and later gave a forecast that Atlantic Ocean would submerge the entire VI, Lekki Ajah. At this point most people were vacating and the environment almost dead.

When the Ocean and the breaker took half of Ahmadu Bello way leaving only portion of the dual carriage way, we deserted our buildings. Before this period Tinubu had recommended solutions but FG claimed ownership of the Ocean until it became aggravated and worsened. It was the courage and resilience and foresight of Tinubu that created the Atlantic City and the new Lagos. While Tinubu was looking for solutions, OBASANJO in Abuja said Lagos is a JUNGLE.

Ever since this Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway Project was announced on FACEBOOK, some International Highway Civil Engineering Companies have been advertising their highway projects targeting Africa. African countries have now started to display the super highways, road networks, new high-rise, towers and new cities development in their countries. It created Africa countries development index on Facebook and other Social Media. Most Africa countries are already aware of this project.

On FACEBOOK, it created awareness among Africa countries. While SA displays Jo'burg, Capetown and Durban, Egypt has a new city development, other countries also show theirs. Nigerians turned it to other things exposing internal psychological warfare and intertribal rivalry display. The whole Africa is already aware of the problem in Nigeria.

Is there any major road in Nigeria funded on PPP? OBASANJO is alive today to witness everything.
