The link you gave is arrant nonsense!!! I saw manipulations of the highest order! The Christian westerners of course colonized us (Africans),so they are seen as being superior in Nigeria. But the Westerners never colonized the middle-east yet they see them as demi-gods,infact they encourage their shabbabs to get their masters and PhDs from the West! Moreover,the modernized Saudi Arabia development was brought about by their present King who had all his education in the West. why didn't he study in their Islamic institutions? Have you heard of KAUST,it's a new postgraduate research university in Jeddah,Saudi Arabia. Let me jist you something: If you apply there as a student and you're called for an interview and they ask you what you'll do if you see a lady in bikini during summer on Campus and you say ''Awusubillahi'', mehn you've failed the interview!!!!! The reason is they DON'T want anything Islamic on the Campus! This has made some senseless Nigerian Muslims to be seeing the present King as being anti-Islamic! |

This is the most shallow post I'v ever read on nairaland! Thank God I spent some few years in Saudi Arabia, I can say assuredly that they smoke cigarette like mad! Infact, some of their shabbabs(Arabic word for youths) go to neighboring countries that allow alcohol intake to enjoy themselves.moreover,the youths enjoy watching porn! If I should open up more can of worms in this country, you go fear and it won't speak well of the university in Saudi Arabia where this is done! |

This would be a very good forum for those of us in the academia. Academia outside Nigeria is very rewarding both career-wise and financially.I'm presently outside the country on a research work in my field(Petrochemicals). There are a lot of academic Nigerians in diaspora, meeting with them is a thing of joy to me.By God's grace,I'm NOT returning to Nigeria to lecture again cos the country is messed up.Outside Nigeria,there is room for development and acquiring skills and knowledge in new softwares used in my field. |
