That's true coming from another angle but imagine selling the car last year, it wouldn't be the same value he would now if he's selling. You are coming from a stable economy perspective while my approach is different.

1m is a big money no doubt but has a very low purchasing value in our recent economy. Getting a good shop in a good location can cost 200-350k to start with. Then you fix electricity ,decorate it to be attractive etc . And if the business includes importation that one na die.

Op should pack his car somewhere, when things go down he can sell but for now if he doesn't want to lose all, he should relax.

Selling his car to pay off debt sounds extreme, I'm focusing on that because that's the only constant I can see here.

Do not sell your car, I repeat do not sell your car! The only and urgent need you have is 500k debt it shouldn't be a reason to sell a car worth 3million . There's no guarantee that business will thrive, and that 1 million naira left with you is not sustainable either. Look for a way to clear your debt and let your asset be.

The value for your car may increase in the future and running a business may be easier then. For now please stay away from selling your properties with the hope of starting a business.
