Hello All, I need your advice. I am currently waiting for a reassessment from VETASSESS for another occupation after the first one had a negative outcome. The international passport i used has just expired and i have a new one just a week ago. Please advice. Do i write to vetassess an email indicating a change in passport or do i wait until the outcome is out. I have tried to see if there is an option to update information on the portal the only option i see, is if there is a change of address. Please help anyone. Thanks in advance |

NNBB2012:Sorry just reading this now. So in essence I can apply get a PR and if I get a positive outcome from another body Engineers Australia I can work as an Engr in Oz, only the PR status I got as a Met/Mat technician will still hold sway for 2years if 190 visa. Right? |
ferdimako:Thanks ferdimako. I presently want to wait till year end or beginning of next year to have appropriate experience as a Materials Engr, what will you advice? |
Ubktech, bossladyMo, vicjustice, FutureDon, equilibrium, malkinburg, justwise, galala123, aduktus, ukchy and othersHello it's been a while I have been here. I have sent my application for a reassessment at vetassess for a Metallurgical and Materials Technician. I am expecting the outcome to be positive. However, I want to know if It is possible to apply to another body Engineers Australia as a Materials Engineering candidate. The reason I ask is if I get a positive assessment from vetassess, does that mean I can't apply to Engineers Australia? Or is my visa locked to only Met & Mat technician in Oz? Any Nigerian Engineer in OZ enlighten me please? |
bossyladymo, Good to see you settling down nicely. May God keep the family well. Hello All, Please I need your advice, I have lodged for a reassessment with VETASSESS. I am waiting however, if i plan to move to Oz, I intend doing my Masters Degree in Engineering, I was wondering of the possibility of one getting the 190 PR, and then applying for a Graduate Program in a University in the selected region, while still in Nigeria. Is it feasible? I also know once one gets the PR school fees are a bit cheap. Also I want to ask Is australia like the UK, where how highly rated your University is influences the speed and the consideration for Engineering positions. bossyladymo, gogochocolate(long time, how body), UbkTech, please all help Apologies for my plenty questions |
UBKtech:UBKTECH thanks a million!! I read in previous posts that is why one should do his health and police clearance early abi, so he/she has enough preparation time. Am sorry am asking a lot of questions! When is the best time to file for the health and police clearance, is it immediately after getting a positive assessment or after submitting an EOI? |
By the way when one gets the PR, what is the longest he can delay relocating b4 the visa expires? Also if one has a family? How long for the family? Also if I understand correctly when one gets a PR he pays as a local abi? |
malkinburg:Malkinburg. I mean a materials and metallurgical technician not a technologist that was what VETASSESS said oh! By the way, what is ur take on technician? I was told even if one gets the PR status and wants to study there for his Masters, he has to pay the full amount no subsidy(thanks UKbtech sp!) @ All By the way when one gets the PR, what is the longest he can delay relocating b4 the visa expires? Also if one has a family? How long for the family? |
bossladyMo:Good bossladyMo |

malkinburg:I was given a negative assessment for Metallurgist but was told my experience is more suitable for a Metallurgical and Materials Technician and i could apply for a reassessment. what should i do? I am thinking a Masters degree will be necessary but will having a PR(just in case i apply), reduce the fees and give me the Engineering status? |
Hello all, I received a negative outcome on my engineering position, however, I was told it was suitable for a technician. I am thinking out loud, all. Should go for assessing as a technician? I want to ask if one gets the PR, can one study in Australia, as a domestic candidate and a reduced fee? for a Masters Degree? Abeg all help me oh, bellong, bossymolady and UBkTech, equilibrium and all, pls advice |

I need help oh as am completing my submitted documentation next week. |
Prof Corruption: What are you viewing critically? That he's a lying old fool? If at his age he can't stand for the truth, that speaks volume of his useless past.Well said. What is the use of getting older and not getting wiser or effective |
sunch: Inasmuuch as i appreciate the intellect of Mr Fashola and being the best future candidate for president. I begin to nurture fear as a result of his idea to over-blow the school fees, when govt are meant to subsidize education to the barest. We shld flash back on how our founding fathers try to bring education to the door step of a mere community man. Our leaders shld be vanguard of encouraging youths who have the zeal to be educated and not otherwise. Thank you mr gov'nor for hyping LASU greatsunch. I respectfully disagree. What we need now is quality, the truth is that for Lagos to subsidize tertiary education, it won't come cheap, except we want a glorified secondary school, the truth is that if everybody in Lagos pays their tax(only 3million out of 8million do), then maybe that makes sense, but in a city where revenue is low(by Nigerian's low standard it is high, but why world standard it is a drop), infrastructure is non-existent, people are more disposed not to pay tax, something must give if we want quality. |
So who is Tambuwal? What has he achieved? Let him go and run a state and show his performance credentials. What we need are people that perform. I don't know why they can settle on the best man for the job. Fashola seems to have performed a great deal and will be an ideal candidate to vie for the Presidency in 2015 |
this is a good move by LASG. People are complaining but forget that commercial drivers are close to lunacy when it comes to driving in the city. People are killed because of a lot of reckless driving which must be curtailed. |
Mr man what do u expect?Joints expand n contract depending on weather n pressure . The key is it does so within acceptable.I am no civil engr but as an engr all materials undergo this cyclic changes,so pls don't raise unnecessary alarm |
ypzilanti: If they refuse to pay the fine, you shut the stores of the defaulters. It does not have to be a blanket shut down. After the first draconian fine is imposed for filth, the traders will sit up.This is not how it can be effectively done in Nigeria, The way Fashola is doing it, has got results in a lot of instances so let him do it. By the way by now all the traders will sit up, so we end this barbaric action once and for all |
tomakint: Oh Lagos is even generating N40 Billion Naira MonthlyMr man, not holding briefs for Fashola but give me a source of this ,above. The last time in June 2012 , they announced that lagos IGR is now N23b($144m) monthly see my source, now provide yours http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/06/18/our-igr-now-n23b-monthly-fashola/ |
romanlaw: PLS FASHOLA U CAN SAY EVERYTHING BUT STOP LYING OH!! THE OKOTA-AGO ROAD U JUST MENT5IONED HAS BIN ABANDONED SINCE SEPTEMBER LAST YEAR, SO FAR I AM CONCERNED I DONT INCLUDE ANY ABANDONED PROJECT AS A PROJCT UNTIL COMPLETED. CHIKINAAAA!!! i expect Eko Ile to come up with her pictures again , that has an August 2012 date on it.If I remember that there was a court case holding the job on that road mid 2012 and that now, as recent as Jan 2013, I think it was just resolved. So chill.See below http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/06/litigation-stalls-okota-road-reconstruction/ |
Since they didnt want to tell us what his ailment was , then. Now we dont want to know what he was suffering from .Ewu United! |
romanlaw: My brother, Lie Lie! Fashola don lie oh! There's nothing like slow pace, the workers left the sight since August last year. I live there and I am a landlord. Y won't govt pay compensation? Most of the landlords that have houses on the road are old men that depend on the houses as income. BUT IF ITS IKOYI, V.I, IKEJA etc they'll pay the compensation without hestitation.mr man, I am surprised you are a landlord because you are way too emotional to be a lanlord, they said court work stopped the work, or you want them to build while court orders a freeze, whats your problem? Probably they were disagreeing on the amount or value, these things happen.Shebi one part of the road has been completed, if they didnt want to do the road they would not have done anything. Mr man relax..wait till middle of the year then you can complain, as for now we were told in January that the road construction will resume, so hold your peace. |
Fashola is doing a good job. People should realise Lagos has 9100 streets plus, with only about one-quarter have been tarred and out of that tarred percentage probably one third of that needs repair. The IGR is not enough to tar all the roads, so also the abiity to monitor all these projects, time and human constraints. Let us be honest with ourselves b4 1999 or even 2007 where we seeing roads tarred left and right , if we are honest we will know the answer is no. I am not saying we should not demand for roads, but let us be balanced and lets see one road at a time get complete. Then we move to the next road. Imagine if previous administration had been building 100 roads per year, what would Lagos have been like? |
