Dannyxy: oga Tunisia is on Saturday, I agree let them come thrash Nigeria.
A team had almost 60% possession, 25 shorts, 16 on target, about 5 clear cut chances…
And they played very badly?
Ok sir sometimes when we criticize it is not just about that match but other future matches. the manner we conceded was really poor, tanzania only goal came from their only meaningful chance. osimhen was too wasteful, wingers not connecting well with fullbacks, the defence was too shaky. Imagine we drew the match, would you still bring out the stats to show how well we played? basically this was how we drew our wc qualification matches that later cost us. we score one, miss a lot of chances that would have ensured we bury the game , the opponents score in the last minutes of the game and it leads to a draw. This was how DR congo eliminated us. 2-1 win against tanzania is not a good performance, it is an okay performace at best and i'm worried we may get punished by a tougher team if we don't improve. A lot of work still needs to be done and a narrow win still calls for criticism. |

I have a different view of Ndidi. I think he should be in our defensive setup. I know he has been playing as a midfielder for ages, but I feel his defensive work rate will best suit us if he plays as a center-back. If he is focused on breaking down opposing attacks, I feel he will excel. With his training in midfield, he could even have some defensive ball-playing attributes. No. he's best as DM |

Napoleon55: If we must play two strikers up front,I prefer V.Boniface with Osimhen.
without taking anything away from Awoniyi,Boniface is more comfortable with ball on his feet and more composed. I'm impressed with his debut, not in a hurry to impress yet he did.
I wonder y some want Iheanacho out of the team because of many strikers we currently have, forgetting he can also operates from midfield,or behind the strikers, and he usually does well. In absence of Iwobi,I actually prefer Iheanacho to Aribo as the playmaker.
For Ndidi, it looks like playing in the championship under his new coach is not completely a bad choice after all. The pass he gave to Osimhen that leads to the penalty was very good. He assisted also. He has really improved |

In case iwobi start his "NEPA" attitude..I think with dis few point of mine,I hope I av been able to convince u and not to confuse you dt ndidi can b replaced wout losing sleep Ndidi is our number 1 player , He's indispensable. Onyekuru scores a lot more goals, big YES but can he do it at higher a very big QUESTION MARK❓
Onyekuru seems to shine in lower quality league. Calm down because I never said Onyekuru is on thw same level as salah but they do have similar style of play. Is that to hard to comprehend? Pulisic despite his injury this season has 10 goals, the highest he ever scored in a less competitive league like bundesliga is 7 and Onyekuru has been consistent enough to make me say he can deliver. You don't need to rubbish homegrown players okay? If solake has Henry's record would you still type this? Awaziem has not had a good time with Porto in Portugal yet he has played in 2 of Europe top 5 leagues and he played well. Henry would deliver in a big league I have no doubt. |

Personally, I will pick Aribo but etebo workrate shouldn't be underestimated Etebo has a crazy workrate but I'll prefer aribo because he's a goal scoring midfielder and Etebo somehow limits Ndidi performance. And we don't have a Trent or robo type of full-back so our creativity lies solely on iwobi. |

Guardiola has tactical masterpiece games that are still being studied today.

TheGoodJoe: You are just running in circles.
For a start, Klopp is known for what is called heavy metal attack. Klopp can never in any way be classed a negative coach. His pressing is one of the best in tbe history of football. So trying to put him on the same pedestal of Mourinho is an insult to the legacy Klopp has taken years to build. He is a far more offensive coach than Rodgers. So that point you are sprouting there does not add up.
Farke of Norwich is a far better classy tactician than Mourinho. He just lacked the players but his art was A game. From his first game in Liverpool, we could see his class. Mourinho can never coach a Norwich side to play football with such grace and swagger. Even his current Tottenham team is yet to show playing class.
Mourinho debatable with Guardiola is the height of jokes. From the 5-0 spanking of Real Madrid, to the first leg between Barcelona and Inter Milan, i think in 2009, to the outplaying of Mourinho in the final leg of Inter Milan where Mourinho tucked his tail like a scared goat and was totally outplayed.
There was a game in Real Madrid Mourinho played 5 central defenders against Guardiola. Why? Because he knows when it comes to class, he is mediocre to Guardiola.
Please, Mou is crap to the modern game guys. People like Zidane are miles ahead of him. wow, so you actually believe farke is a better tactician than mourhino . Such disrespect to the special one. Mourhino that won the champions league with Porto. You are confusing attacking football with being more tactical. Being tactical means having a tactics to get you your desired result. You can tag Mourinho tactics as counter attack too, he only packs the bus when necessary. Mourhino can't get Norwich relegated, even with the bad season, totneham still got Europa. Attacking football≠ more tactical. and yes pep being better than mourhino is very debatable. |

TheGoodJoe: Which one is sentimental again.
My point is simple. Rodgers is more tactically deep than Mourinho. Mourinho will always park bus when he meets a far superior tactically sound team. Which shows he is not as good as many believe.
Finito. Because mourhino defends, Rodgers is better tactically? That's like saying Norwich coach is better than Mourinho because he plays pure attacking football Rodgers is nowhere near Mourinho tactically and overall. Even pep being better than mourhino is very debatable. You tagged Simeone athletico boring, most Liverpool matches with Liverpool leading gets boring. Liverpool plays defensive football (counter attack is a defensive approach) and you'll expect Liverpool fans to take Rodgers over klopp because he plays attacking football? You think leceister fans would want attacking Rodgers over mourhino? Being tactical is about playing to bring results which mourhino does consistently. Don't forget mourhino coached a mediocre man u side to second place and Europa trophy. You could have said Rodgers is more attacking but you saying he's more tactical is very wrong. A tactical Coach won't bottle a 14 point lead from fifth neither would he bottle the last match against man United. Mourinho is far superior tactically and overall. |

TheSuperNerd: Ndidi's 19/20 season: A success or failure?
https://images.daznservices.com/di/library/GOAL/a/13/ndidi-rodgers_3a1fmhz2rbn310f68n68kr7w0.jpg
Has Leicester City’s botched attempt to secure Champions League football soiled what was another impressive year for the evolving Nigerian anchorman?
Without question, Leicester City’s final standing had a ‘What might have been?’ feel to it, owing to how they had looked to have secured a Champions League spot at the halfway point of the campaign.
Indeed, the fact they were 11 points above Manchester United in eighth after 19 games only to end in fifth four points adrift of the Red Devils amplifies their collapse at the end of the extended 2019/20 season.
Even though the Foxes made the semi-final of the League Cup, quarter-final of the FA Cup, scored more goals and conceded fewer this season compared to 18/19, had their first Premier League Golden Boot winner in Jamie Vardy and will be playing in Europe next season, there’s a hint of sadness at how they unravelled since the turn of the year.
There’s an argument that Brendan Rodgers’ side would have taken fifth spot had it been offered to them a year ago, still, given the prolific nature of their start, preseason expectations were probably adjusted following a strong opening to the campaign.
While many continue to mull over the glass half-full or glass half-empty appraisal, the improving Wilfred Ndidi will undoubtedly be pleased with his season, which continued his progression as an all-round midfielder.
Given the 23-year-old arrived from Genk practically as a ball winner capable of scoring the odd cracker, his development since January 2017 has been outstanding.
https://images.daznservices.com/di/library/GOAL/ae/9d/ndidi-ps_a6cv387dnn7s1p7wwys19fzv4.jpg
Unsurprisingly, as has been the case in the two preceding seasons, Ndidi was the top tackler in the division, along with Man United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka with 129. In 17/18 and 18/19, that figure was 138 and 143 respectively.
What makes this year’s volume all the more impressive is because he registered this many retrievals despite the team's shift in style, which was highlighted by the increase in Leicester’s average possession.
In the Nigerian’s first full season, the Foxes' average possession was 48 percent and it just barely crossed the halfway mark last year. However, Rodgers’ troops had a mean of 57.5 percent this year, the fourth-highest in the Premier League, and a major indicator of their change in approach.
Thus, it was hugely impressive that the West African still topped that metric regardless of the alteration of the team’s style in possession. Only Bournemouth’s Diego Rico (84) made more interceptions than Ndidi’s 80, with the anchorman’s reading of the game as sharp as ever.
Nevertheless, the pertinent indicator of the ex-Genk man’s improvement hasn’t been what he’s done without the ball alone, rather his adeptness in possession to match the brutishness in the middle of the park.
https://images.daznservices.com/di/library/GOAL/fd/2a/wilfred-ndidi-leicester-city_1i2ft54akikh11b3523kwn5xvv.jpg
According to Fbref, the Nigeria international ranks fifth for passes made excluding dead-ball passes, higher than James Maddison, the side’s creative hub this season. In fairness, the Englishman’s injury towards the end of the campaign probably saw Ndidi edge him in the closing weeks but playing a high quantity of passes in the first place demonstrates his importance in the Foxes’ build-up.
He played 44.4 passes per game, the fourth-highest in the side and an accuracy of 85 percent was a commendable completion rate. Unsurprisingly, the Nigerian completed 87 percent of his attempted passes in Leicester’s half while the decrease to 83 percent in the opposition half was a respectable return. For passes longer than 25 yards, the mere fact that Ndidi successfully found a teammate 304 times from 376 tries (81% success) showed not all these attempts were short, simple passes. While he sits sixth for percentage success for long passes, only Caglar Soyuncu’s 555 completed passes from 659 efforts was significantly higher (no other colleague with a better completion rate crossed the 100-pass mark).
Furthermore, 138 passes by the 23-year-old defensive midfielder were directed into the final third, only Jonny Evans (144), Maddison (155) and Youri Tielemans (157) attempted more. While the Nigerian didn’t quite attempt as many progressive passes (74) he still sits a respectable eighth when compared with other teammates.
The aforementioned truly highlight the transformation of Ndidi into a more complete midfielder, who not only thrives in the defensive aspects but is now becoming an accomplished player in possession as well.
https://images.daznservices.com/di/library/GOAL/34/93/ndidi-ps_o3iq23up1iea1txbgbohgy3bk.jpg
In truth, it is no surprise he led the way for most blocks (81) while successfully harrying the opponent on the ball more times than any other Leicester player, given that’s what he thrives at doing. The improving adeptness with the ball, however, is why the African is becoming one of the top rounded players in his position.
Indeed, Ndidi’s influence on their play was felt early on in the Foxes’ slump from mid-January to February where he missed five of six league games. Rodgers’ men won none of those fixtures with the 2-1 home defeat by Southampton the perfect representation of how much they lean on the Nigerian.
While he was involved in a few questionable moments post-lockdown – the concession of penalties in damaging defeats by Everton and Bournemouth, especially – the former was a contentious handball while the other originated from Kasper Schmeichel’s poor kick at the Vitality Stadium.
Without a doubt, Ndidi has come on in leaps and bounds since his Premier League debut against Chelsea in January 2017, refining his style to suit the team while not losing his blue-collar tendencies in the process.
The Nigerian anchorman will finally grace European football with Leicester next season, still, it’s a shame it won’t be the Champions League as the continent’s most prestigious competition is where his talent ought to be showcased and where the Foxes seemed destined for before their post-January decline.
Source: Goal Ndidi really tried this season. It's such a pity leceister had to settle for europa and I really hope a Big club comes for him soon. |

Check the stats of all our current wingers that started playing football 5-6 years ago, Onyekuru has the best goal record among them! He can function on any side of the wing and also as a lone striker or false 9..
E surely get why Rohr doesn't start him.
Personally,I like Onyekuru...I think he has what he take to be like Mane.. A goalscoring winger with good work rate.. It saddens me to see onyekuru not being able to cement his place in Monaco. He was eagles most prolific winger until Moses Simon took over this season but rohr just seem to prefer kalu over him . When he's not on form, he's mostly dropped but when he's on hot form he's invited but he hardly comes on. I think regular football with the SE would have booster his chances at Monaco and rohr should do better. |
