Use your spot on front page to advice that this man's case should be treated with caution and carefulness as going about it the way the police has set out may give birth to a radical & extremist in him, just the way it happened with Yusuf and boko haram. The reasons he penned down there are not far from true situations of many & this makes them ready recruits of whatever cause that may suit their challenging the government.
Politics / Re: What Uba Sani Said About El-Rufai On May 28th, 2023 (Video) by PS712: 6:37am On Jun 30
Quite honestly Mallam fought hard for the APC at the twilight of the PMB administration to ensure BAT, Uba Sani & others clinch power. Unfortunately, what might have gone under the bridge no one knows, but certainly what's happening, he (mallam) has done to people like Atiku and Obj too. Therefore, the conclusion of the matter is that in the arena they are playing this, no permanent friends nor permanent enemies, just interest. Whether Mallam will resurface is left to the future to decide.

I was doing a research on personal finance management, and I ask CHATGPT to budget the proposed minimum wage of 62,000 naira proposed by the FG. Look at what I found out.
Submit this to our government, it makes a fine Template that they'll be glad to present to workers, anybody requesting higher is extravagant and wasteful!

The suspension of the implementation has become very necessary, this is even more because the government is trying to get more Nigerians to embrace electronic banking for their transactions. Hence, apart from the hardship, this very reason has to be factored in too.

Crime / Re: Gihan Mbelu Found Dead Inside His Car (VGC Chairman) by PS712: 9:57pm On Apr 28
Kobicove:
You mean an unresponsive person was transported from VGC in Lekki all the way to Lagos University Teaching Hospital a journey which would take at least 90minutes at best...is it that there are no hospitals in the immediate locality where he could have been taken for medical attention?
One of the lessons I learnt the hard way about 3 years ago. An unconscious (dying neighbour), a pretty young lady was brought out of the apartment to be taken to the hospital, I quickly took them in my car and the relatives directed me to take them to a particular hospital (a place she had received treatment months back) and it was quite a distance, I sped to the hospital, passing several others,..., sadly upon getting there she was declared dead already. I felt and still feel bad and guilty. What she needed at that time was immediate medical attention within shortest time, may be CPR and oxygen support, which the hospitals we passed could and would have provided, but the distance we traveled made it late.
The saddest part is our poor Healthcare system where ambulances hardly respond or arrive on time.

Rubbish policy. Allow them to graduate young and add value to the system while their brains are still very active.

I graduated from the University at 18 and I have never regretted it for a day. It took me several years to get my first full-time job that I was truly satisfied with. So government ought to factor that also.

You want to waste their productive years in a country where employers will be asking for 4 years work experience at 22.

angry sad
They are trying to solve a problem and will succeed in creating myriads more. They've not even factored that even when the individual gets admitted at 18, in a public institution for instance, industrial actions and other sundry issues may cause unprecedented delays. In fact, this proposal of theirs should be thrown into trash can.

Religion / Re: Righteousness Exalts A Nation: One Thing Nigeria Could Learn From A Cat (Photo) by PS712: 10:39am On Apr 14
jesusjnr2020:
Righteousness Exalts A Nation: One Thing Nigeria Could Learn From A Cat

Normally, a cat is not an animal most Christians would want to associate themselves with, considering the negative reputation it has generally among Christians.

I myself am not endeared to cats, and barely had any interactions with them in my entire lifetime. However on this particular occasion, I had paid a visit to a family friend and stayed there for several days.

A cat happened in the house, so that was how me and this particular cat crossed paths.

It's an interesting story as to how the cat got there in the first place, because this was also a christian family well known to hate the sight of cats not to talk of having them around, but that's a long story which may distract from the topic, so let me not go there just yet.

Now during my stay there, I observed the cat was very selective when it comes to food.

It doesn't eat rice, beans, yam, plantain, among others, so whenever any of the above is placed in its plate, it often end up in the refuse bin. If not there, it gets being devoured by cats of neighbors closeby, to suggest that the cat is quite unique in the way it selects food, however as a result it's often left hungry even when its plate is full of food.

It happens to often eat bread though and also appears to love licking soup especially draw. But of course, fish, meat are his favourite food as expected.

So whenever someone was about to eat swallow especially, somehow it is able to sense that what it craves was inside the plate of food the person is carrying, so it would follow the person hoping some of its favorite food could drop for it from the plate.

I usually share some of such with it while eating as a result, so it is usually hopeful of getting something whenever I was eating hence hardly misses such moments.

One day, it was already hanging around where I had put my food and was about to eat. However it appeared I forgot something so had to go downstairs to get it. Something appeared to delay me though so my food was left open for a while, but then when I remembered the cat was already there waiting, I shouted and rushed back to see what had become of my open food while I was gone. I sincerely thought it would have already pounced on the food and devoured especially the meat and fish inside.

But when I came back I just saw the cat still lying down close to the stool but the food was intact. I was shocked because the plate of food contained its favorite fish and meat and it was really close to it, yet it didn't touch it.

Perhaps I didn't need to be shocked if that's the nature of cats but I didn't know much about cats anyway. I don't still know if this is the same with all cats but this particular one doesn't touch any food that doesn't belong to it.

Despite being hungry, it waited patiently for me to finish what I was doing to come and give it some meat and fish by myself before it would eat.

I was seriously impressed and it made me want to give it as much as possible. Funny thing is that when I give it, it could take it and run somewhere to secure while eating it, but it doesn't touch someone else's food.

It was a real eye-opener that a cat could have such discipline.

It made me begin to imagine what Nigeria would have become if we as Nigerians and our leaders had such discipline not to take what doesn't belong to us.

The Bible says, "righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people." Proverbs 14:34

That's why a nation so richly endowed and blessed by God, is yet the poverty capital of the world.

It because of sin (mindless stealing and corruption) which would bring reproach to any nation.

At this time when Nigeria is suffering much poverty, hardship, and reproach due to lack of discipline on the part of her leaders and people, Nigeria could surely do well to learn something from the cat.

God bless.
Hatred for cats is a cultural thing and not Christian. Kindly enlighten us where it's stated in the Bible that cats are evil.

Your submission on this issue is apt. Note however that even the marriage to a foreigner, while still serving personnel, has its regulations and guidelines and was cited. She should quickly seek soft-landing as you've advised else it'll be messy for her. The NA had plans with her in mind and her immediate resignation has implications.

People like Tambuwal betrayed him and he (Wike) prepared a more painful, bitter and cancerous betrayal that has not only held the party by the jugular but snuffed life out of its existence.

lacasera14:
Yes but they are living the abroad life here in Nigeria. I know some big men in Nigeria who do not lack power, water, good health care assistance, suffer zero traffic, no malaria, no security challenge because they have security, and even more than what you traveled for. So if you traveled because of these things to slump from a manager to a warehouse boy, I think you should have made more money in Nigeria and be traveling abroad for vacations while you send your children there like the big men do. Meanwhile you're saying all these because your wife already made the grounds soft for you. When you start paying all the bills yourself and taking the responsibility your perspective may differ from what it is now. There's always a disadvantage and advantage to everything in life. You only mentioned advantages thanks to your wife. 3 months your eye never clear yet.
Can we rest already! Scrutinize, constructively criticize, but don't end up derailing the thread or slowing down its progress simply for reasons best known to you. There is a level of insecurity everywhere in the world, that's true. But you can't compare security in Nigeria and that of Australia, going as far as stating that you know "big men" in Nigeria who have security because they go about with security men, like seriously?
He stated that he was a boss (in his own right) and you say he wasn't "boss" enough that's why? In Nigeria about 2 weeks ago military men (including exalted ranking officer, Lt. Col.) were killed..., a Brig. Gen. was killed some time ago in Borno, not to mention several others, weren't these "bosses" enough? Must it be a governor or Senator? During the Book launch by Femi Adesina, Prof. Osinbajo narrated discussion he had with his boss (former PMB) when he told Buhari he wanted to visit the Niger Delta to find solution to insecurity that caused drop in Crude production, what did he say Buhari told him? That he (Osinbajo) should not make it to the news as first vice president to be kidnapped. That wasn't a joke. That was a president telling his vice that he could be kidnapped and the VP shelved/aborted that mission.
Accepting that things in Nigeria are not the way they should be (and as obtainable in saner climes) is among the first steps to solving our problems.

LOL. You guys don't know how it works here. Who told you he can't get back to his accounting profession? He needs to get life started before securing his career. If you are washing plate here, you don't wash with your hands. All you do is put all dirty plates into the dish washer, set the timer and go sit down. When it is done, you unload the dish washer. That's all. Same this applies to refuse dumping. You don't touch any thing with your hands. You do more of monitoring than manual handling. I work in the disability sector where I have gained a lot of experience using modern equipments to do various form of jobs without touching the person. What you don't know is bigger than you.
Can't like your response any less. You hit the nail on the head. By now you are experiencing firsthand what majority of Nigerians don't know, how far the world has gone with technology. Most ignorant people commenting here have no idea that soon, very soon, their jobs or those of loved ones will be taken over by machines.

“The money the airlines are saying that they are still owed is money with the commercial banks and not with the government, because commercial banks are private. They are not government entities,” Akporiaye added.

If FG had not cleared the backlog, this revelation may not be out that banks owned by private individuals are actually the one withholding some of the funds that made airlines withdraw the low-priced tickets.

EFCC should move into this matter before these private individuals frustrate the progress the FG just made in this area of bringing back the low priced ticket.

While the Army (one arm of the military in Nigeria) should engage in research like its contemporaries around the world, its starting and running a university beats common sense and reasoning, especially considering the period (meager resources- human, material and financial, available in prosecuting insurgency, terrorism and banditry). What (research-wise) did the university set out to achieve that could not have been achieved with NDA Kaduna and DICON Kaduna?

As much as this idea sounds great due to insecurity, it will just make governors mini tyrants.

I hope they put enough checks mechanism in the law that would set it up to mitigate abuse.

APC governors will just be using state police to rig elections.

In fact, I suspect the reason they are pushing for State Police is to have enough touts that would help execute 2027 elections seeing that nobody in his right senses would vote for them except their brainless supporters.
Enough of all these fears of state governors using their state police to have their way,..
They are almost totally using judiciary and the federal police as well as other security agencies anyway.
Insecurity is bringing this nation down to its knees, with state police communities can constitutionally have their say and way (to a large extent) when it comes to securing their territories. But right now, imagine aliens coming into communities with sophisticated weapons and all the communities do is to run away or perish while waiting on federal security agencies that may not turn up or arrive late. Enough of the fears that governors will abuse the opportunity. They will do, but the gains right now outweigh those fears. After all the governors can only constitutionally enjoy maximum 8years, that is all things being equal. Even if they install their stooges to takeover from them, the stooge having gained control may or may not continue to be loyal to the godfather.
We need security to be restored ASAP. Else we'll drown.
