rusher14: Doubting Thomas!!

Another Cliche isn't it?

I wonder if Thomas who was with his master then, yet couldn't believe until he was shown evidence has been condemned for questioning.
Wonderful comment!

Thomas doubted, but even he wasn't condemned, instead he was shown evidence.

Samcenation you have no excuse, neither does your bishop.
Stop following blindly and believing everything you are told.

Samcenation: ...we call it prosperity for ur info...wen he was poor,,,he went to d radio nd tv broadcast nd said...'' I CAN NEVA BE POOR'' pple mocked im....now we all can c it...(EVERY CHALLENGE IN THE LIFE OF A BELIVER HAS AN EXPIRY DAte) #peace
Is there any proof that he actually said that? Can you provide an audio and video clip (radio and tv stations store all their recordings, no matter how old they'll have it) Do you even know the radio station he claims to have said that in?

Or do you just believe because he told you so, like you believe all the other things he claims to have done. undecided

Nairaland GeneralRe: The Execution Of 'Doctor Oyenusi' A Notorious Robber by psky: 11:35am On Dec 13, 2013
Nogen: Famous or notorious? Famous is positive. I think notorious is more like it.
The word "notorious" does not necessarily imply popularity, the right word to use would be "infamous". smiley
Nairaland GeneralRe: The Execution Of 'Doctor Oyenusi' A Notorious Robber by psky: 9:20am On Dec 13, 2013
fuke: Nice post.
An educative exposition into history.

But I want to add a missing link.

Oyenusi did not die like a chicken as portrayed.
He was defiant to the end and long after others were silenced he
was still there on the stake holing tenaciously to life.
Eventually, it took 98 hot lead to silence him.

I know because the next day after the execution which was a
Sunday, the front page of Sunday Times, the most widely read weekly then screamed
"98 bullets to finish Oyenusi".

Nice Job though and what a refreshing way to start a Friday.
Now we all know newspapers have always applied sensationalism to sell their stories, it was most likely exaggerated.
Oyenusi was human like everybody, a single shot to the chest by a good marksman would have finished him off.

Also, no one ever said Oyenusi died a coward, the op said he smiled even while tied to the stake and he had pics to prove it.

Bigboyz32: For all you critics, I have one question for you: do you read motivational or inspirational books like Napoleon Hill's Myles Munroe's, Benjamin Franklin and the rest? If you do, then I dont understand your grudges against this men of God. They talk about faith which is what the motivational speakers talk about as "belief". Bible gives you answers to all of life's questions whether you believe it or not. These men of God are only helping you on how to understand and rightly practise the bible's teachings so you can receive all its promises. The physical is controlled by the physical and so there is need to start effecting from the spiritual. If you dont like it, pls unfollow this thread.
I am a Catholic, but I am proudly here live in Shiloh. Redemption is a personal thing not in churches.
Dude did you just say Napoleon Hill?

Hope you know that upon all the law of attraction trash that he preached Napoleon Hill died broke?

Besides, the only real money he made all his life was from selling books about getting rich through positive thinking, books he wrote while he was still poor. And like I said before, he died broke.

So please don't be inspired by Napoleon Hill, he was just another man who made money deceiving people.

Christianity EtcRe: Religion Complaints Thread (sticky) by psky: 4:07pm On Dec 09, 2013
POPE II: why ?

I stand to be corrected, we Catholics don't come here to force you to adopt our teachings or justify our doctrines okay? So whether we celebrate the birthday of Mary twice in a year or not how does it concern you ? How and why does it pain you ? As long as it is in the teachings/doctrines of the holy mother church , I don't get what on earth makes you think you have the right to dismiss one of our holiday ? Am I missing smething? Your job as a mod is to forward our request to your bosses or execute it.

Furthermore are you trying to tell us what Catholic must celebrate and how they should honor Mary? The conception of Mary(honour b upon her) is an important date of our religious calendar , and the Catholics of this forum have the right to b informed about it, ignorance is not a disease but refusing to learn is one . You first started behaving as Mrs knowitall , calling the inception birthday tho . My dear when you don't know please ask .
Surprised this comment hasn't been hidden yet, I know mine will. embarassed grin

Hbg in case you haven't noticed you have a wonderful way of turning those in support of you against you. First it was me, now it's pope, maybe next it'll be mumumugu. grin

Anyway I haven't come here to bash you, I just want to plead that you be reasonable in your decision making, think carefully before you make certain comments and take certain actions. As a mod rash decisions could be really costly, and your infamy will just keep building up until you are made to resign shamefully.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Nairaland Is Having Technical Hitch ? by psky: 7:59am On Dec 09, 2013
Also, for everyone whose name is on that list, clicking on their profiles would indicate they were last here a few minutes before twelve.

That's incorrect for nearly everyone. Some stayed long after that, and some like me have visited nairaland this morning, though our profiles don't say that.

Really wonder what's up.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Nairaland Is Having Technical Hitch ? by psky: 7:39am On Dec 09, 2013
Asides that the list of viewers of the general section is incorrect, those people were viewing the section last night, but not this morning. The list doesn't say that though, it's like it's kept still.

I think the problem is limited to the general section though, hope seun takes note and fixes this.
