Sincere 9gerian: That was so unfair on the part of Seun. You dont pay these moderators yet you do not accord them the respect they deserve. Seun even had to accuse Sexkilz of giving people very lenghty ban. I have always advocated that no ban should exceed 24 hours and that any ban that goes beyond 24 hours is counterproductive but if Seun felt the same way all that he needed to do was make a policy or rule that no ban should exceed a certain duration instead of incubating it as one of the 'sins' of Sexkilz.

It's not as one sided as it seems. Like someone has already said, no one needs to tell you it is unreasonable to ban people for such long periods. Apart from that, sexkillz was very rude and disrespectful to regular members. Nearly every week a thread would be created which centered on the erractic behaviour of sexkillz. I know seun is not perfect, but sexkillz definitely had a fair share of imperfections, imperfections which he boasted about.

For me, I stopped attacking moderators immediately I realised they'r not being paid. These are volunteers for goodness sake and the heroes of NL. I wonder how they manage to cope with moderating this forum and their offline daily activities.

Reddit is arguably the biggest forum in the world, no moderator gets paid for the job. If you do not want to moderate then you could as well resign, not one is forcing you to be a moderator. There are many other people who want the job, some more competent than you are, all ready to not be paid. As far as I am concerned being paid or not does not count here.

I appeal to Sexkilz and other moderator to reconsider their decision. Many Nlanders appreciate the selfless service they render to this forum.

Lastly, I think Seun should urgently review the policy of not paying moderators because they deserve to be paid. It was okay to have people volunteer as moderators when NL was a growing infant but not anymore.

Remember what I said about reddit? Besides, like I told someone before, nairaland is a very big forum, it has tens of section(which means tens and tens of mods), and some demand nearly 24 hour surveillance. Seun makes good money, but definitely not earth shattering amounts, how much do you think he can pay each mod?

Actually op, looking at this case, the rules are against you.

Rule 19 says you should not create a new account when banned and make sure the admin remains unaware if you actually do.
Generally speaking, the main point of this rule is not creating a new account, but making sure they remain unaware of you doing so. I know it sounds senseless but there is some reason to it. If people were allowed to create new accounts when banned and boldly boast of doing so, then the point of banning would be lost.

Looking at the length of your initial ban, l'd say you were justified creating a new account. But the problem was the awareness factor. Making the only difference between your first and second moniker a single dot doesn't make you seem very eager to obey the rule. And so the moderator did have the right to ban you.

Just create a new account with a very different username and move on with it.

Meanwhile I think it will be a good idea if nairaland creates a "banned users room" where users can ask questions n know exactly why they re banned, if possible appeal their bans, I've seen such in foreign forums.
PS: truth be told, all of una wey dem don ban deserve the ban, a ban of 93 years is simply a life ban no need counting the years.

Hey hbg, yeah I've been unbanned. I put the case up to Mukina2 and she unbanned me. 

But what is beyond me is how you could do this, go so low. You are the one who started making the rude comments, and you still expected me to respect you? Really? 

You were very aware of what you were doing. Because you knew you could not properly defend yourself, and you knew I unlike the kind princesa would not easily let you go, you decided to put me out of the way, and then bust in like you had been ready to defend yourself all along. Quite smart I must accept, the first I had seen from you yesterday.

But now let's look at the comments of mine that you hid. The first I had called pope popebantunji because of his intolerant nature, and then you said you would not tolerate name calling. What in the world is wrong with name calling? He was the one who started all this.
But then the main issue was the last comment you hid, and it was probably the comment that made you ban me: so the summary of what's happened here is a mod committed an action, couldn't defend that action and insulted everyone who asked her to, then ran away. Mod of the month people, mod of the month.

Please prove wrong anything I said in this comment, apart from the mod of the month part of course.  
This was my opinion, I was summarising everything that happened and do not deserve a ban for it. People have said worse about you right here on this thread but did not get banned for it, and I was just saying what I felt was true. And you know what, if I was to complete that comment I would say: and she did not come back until she banned me, until she made sure I was out of the way. What you have done is very unfair, using your power to save yourself from being questioned, but thank God there are higher powers to appeal to.

And now what started all of this, "mockery". According to the New International Webster's Comprehensive Dictionary, "to mock is to make derisive or contemptuous mimicry," in other words, it is to imitate with an intention to deride, downgrade, it is to be derogatory. It would have been mockery if I had painted a situation in which God had presented the ten commandments to Moses and he had said, "no God, I want Steve Jobs' tablets, these are too lame." That would have been mockery, that would have been derogatory, because it is with the intention to downgrade the ten commandments.

Nothing of such was done in the thread. I mean if you could take that thread to be centered on mockery then you could also label the pidgin bible as mockery. It was all about merging old times with the new and seeing how it would look. I could do the same with the Vikings, giving them Ferraris instead of horses, or with Alexander the great, giving him machine guns. I might admire these people, and giving them these things might be funny but not in anyway derogatory. Even the pidgin bible is funny, but it is not derogatory, it is not mocking the bible.

Famous pastors all around the world, some of whom you might admire, crack these sort of jokes with the bible all the time. They obviously aren't trying to mock it, they are just trying to ease things up, make people better able to relate with it. 

The main point is it is not mockery, and the only people who thought it was out of all that viewed it were you and pope. So please move the thread back to the religion section, and if you do not like it you can as well never visit the thread.

The main reason why she banned me in the first place was because she could not properly defend her actions. Did you notice yesterday she did not start talking until she had banned me?

Now I have been unbanned and she still wouldn't let me defend myself and question her. What pains me most is she is abusing her powers to get herself out of this.

I just want her to defend her actions, it's all I have wanted since this started. And she is the one who has made escalate to this.
