It was hard but i learnt a lesson and that is why I have taken all precaution to protect the rest of my family by opening a medical account with a Diplomatic Clinic in Abuja that caters to a lot of foreign diplomats that do not want to risk their lives at the National hospital or go to the Julius Berger Life camp clinic where they treat black people like crap. I've told my family that even the slightest headache requires immediate attention. There is nothing like "go and drink panadol" in my book again lai lai! u hear people complain of headache and die the next day and of course the first thing people say is "juju" what about the simple medical answer of an anuerism in the brain which is the main cause of headache related deaths.

But i have to ask oh! what could have caused a split ball?

Thanks,i talked to one and he gave me antibiotics injection and drugs but the pain only went for a couple of weeks.I went back to him and he gave me another Injection for 5 days and it doesn't make any different.I think i have to see another Dr because am so worried right now.

Are in Nigeria? I'm surprised a doctor after hearing of your complaint would give you an injection and pain killers? what about doing a freaking scan to see exactly what the heck is happening in your scrotum? If you are in Nigeria, just don't go to any clinic, find a good hospital (if any) and tell to do a scan or xray! I kindda suspect u r in Naija becos no doctor abroad will hear a complaint like yours and just send you home with pain killers and antibiotic.
This is one reason I'm afraid of returning back home . The fear of being mis-diagnosed just like the doctors at the National Hospital Abuja misdiagnosed my mother with stomach ulcers when in fact she had cancer. Their explanation was, well, stomach ulcer and stomach have have similar symptoms, I'm like WTF??
I brought her to the US where she was correctly diagnosed but she died 14 days after getting here becos the can had spread to virtually all her internal organs. If only she had been properly screened.
So, my dear freeagent, go seek out a good hospital and a real doctor to diagnose u properly

I will be travelling to Abuja in a couple of months, please list the hotels to avoid around the Garki / Wuse areas! I don't want to be constantly killing cockroaches, mosquitos and lizards in my room

Haba! who is this buffalo? don't u just hate it when you have to sit next to heavy person who snores? I was unfortunate enough to sit next to someone who kept farting nasty SOB!! on a BA flight from Philly to London and he stunk to high heavens too and he was an oyibo for that matter!!
I didn't have to suffer through all his "mess". the stewardess must have heard one of the thunderous explosions coming from that guy's trailer load butt, she came and asked me if i wld like to be moved and i didn't even wait for her to put a full stop in her question, I jumped up picked my stuff up and left. We had a good laugh about it on our way to my comfortable seat in buisness.

I love flying but don't particularly enjoy flying within Nigeria ! I would rather drive myself to my destination in Nigeria than fly or take the bus! The rough take off and landing will give you a heart attack if you fly and armed robbers is the other wahala if u take the bus . But when you wake up early enough in the morning and drive urself to ur destination, at least u'll have peace of mind knowing that u r in capable hands, yourself!

also don't 4get to have enough money on you even if u r going to live with relatives! they may put u out for any little offense even for being urself! so better be prepared! i know someone that came to visit her cousin in philly after a few weeks, her cousion couldn't put up with what she called "bush behaviour"  of her cousin and actually put the poor girl out. She seems to have forgotten that b4 she came to the US she once had the same "bush behavior" and it hasn't gotten any better with all the years she's lived here. What goes around comes around  . the put out cousin is now staying with me!

My first "oyibo" meal was on the plane. I took a bite of the chicken and tot to myself, *chai, so one can cook chicken with sugar*? There was rice but it was just plain rice and i almost asked the stewardess for stew. I decided against it. there was also a roll of bread, some butter and orange juice and some kind of funny tasing dessert! I had red wine with my meal . i ate everything (even the funny tasting dessert) and then relaxed and started sipping my wine while watching a movie. needless to say, i paid for all those strange food later *if u know what i mean*
Living in the US and any other European country will make you FAT! everything they cook is sweet thats why obesity is running rampant here. Candied yams, sweet and sour chicken, honey mustard covered fish, BBQ sauce, pickled this and pickled that, all with huge amounts of vinegar and sugar! haba!!! I don't even want to start with KFC, BK, Wendy or McDonald!!

For those of you that have lived abroad b4, u know howeasy and flexible it is to rent a really cool car for like a day or days or just the weekend? Do we have something like this in Nigeria (Abuja to be specific)?

I am planning my trip home and since I will only be there for like 2 weeks, I want to rent a decent looking car so i can transport myself wherever I want to go without depending on anybody.

Where in Abuja can I find a car rental and how genuine are they and honestly, is renting worth it? I know one thing for sure, I ain't buying no car in Abuja for a 2 week visit! [/b]

First time abroad, Switzerland (destination was the Swizz Alps)! I took a vacation there in the middle of summer (June-July) and i went along with my co-worker from the Swiss Embassy in Abuja. If she hadn't been there with me, I for suffer becos of the language barrier. They speak German, French and some other gibberish that I couldn't understand.

Anyhoo, that country is beautiful with a capital B! If i had a choice and then hit the lottery big time, I will take up final residence in Switzerland. We went to an outdoor cafe that overlooked some mountains and I must confess that I started trying to act all "oyibo" ordering an espresso coffee and some funny sounding food from the menu and then sitting there eating it and pretending that I was enjoying it but cussing myself out for being a damn fool. The coffee was so thick and strong that i was pratically bouncing off walls for the rest of the day all hyper and high on caffeine. Then we went hiking, me that I've never hiked in my life, this lady took me up some hill that looked like a freaking mountain and inside my mind, i was just praying to God to bring me back safely and with no broken bones. The view from up that hill/mountain was breath-taking. If you are a lover of nature, the Swiss Alps is where you should visit. Best time to go there is between May, June and July
Bottomline, Switzerland is a beautiful place to vacation in. God must have washed his hands real good when he created that country

I've done a lot of research and you guys are right, that IO sold us a bunch of crap! I guess she used the fear tactics to make us want to throw away our birth countries. I went to the website of the US Department of State and found this information: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1753.html

Ok, now that's settled, from the responses I received, is this what I'm supposed to do?

1. When travelling to Nigeria, I should use my US ppt to exit.
2. When I get to Nigeria, use my Nigerian ppt to enter.
3. When leaving Nigeria, use my Nigerian ppt to exit
4. When I get back to the US, use my American ppt to enter.

Does this pretty much sum up the answers I got here on how it is done?

@ Switchmax8, on the day I took my oath, the Immigration Officer that officated told us that the US no longer recognizes dual citizenship and we should not attempt to leave the country using any other passport other than the American passport or there will be consequences!

Thxs guys! So in other words, when I'm leaving the US, I shld use my US passport and when i get to Nigeria, I will present my Nigerian ppt? When I'm leaving Nigeria, I shld use my US ppt and not the Nigerian one?

I know, but does it matter that the US does not? Can I use my Nigerian ppt to enter Nigeria so I won't have to worry about Visa and Custom officers that will most like give me a tough time for "abandoning" my motherland?

Maybe someone can help me out with the right answer. I recently got my US citizenship and up until then i was excited at the prospect of having dual citizenship. After the ceremony, we were told that we cannot use our former passports to travel anymore and it had to be the US passport because the US does not recognize dual citizenship .

My question is even though the US doesn't recognize it, does Nigeria recognize dual citizenship? Also, can I use my US passport to leave the US and upon getting to Nigeria, use my Nigerian passport to enter my land of birth? the same applies for when I'm returning to the states?
