she looks pretty sha!. Wedding gown is flattering to her shape. He looks so uncomfortable and stuffy. Hate his outfit (he really thinks he's a prince ) Even his stance is awkward. He looks like a cheater and once he's ruined her shape with instant back to back pregnancies, he will move on. A leopard can never change it's spot. He cheated on his first wife with Mercy and cheated on Mercy with the first wife (1st wife got preggy in 2008 when he had started dating Mercy abi?) what makes Mercy think she is immune to him cheating on her with someone else? ![]() I hope Mercy gets a little bit of happiness before the inevitable happens. |
manny4life:hurry oh! CVS might be sold out on batteries too. |
na wa oh! CNN is covering this hurricane more then the bomb blast in Abuja today. For 2 hours straight all i've been hearing is hurricane, hurricane. |
premechaz:*hissing and shaking my head* ![]() |
Will y'all stop bickering and fighting over nonsensical nonsense! Haba! all this name calling is terrible. this thread is about the hurricane and Nigerians living in its path, where the name calling and bashing comes from only God knows. you don't know if the person u r abusing will survive this storm so please, everybody grow up and stop the insults. Just like we were all worried when the flood hit Lagos, we all should be worried about this storm. We saw what Katrina did to New Orleans and Louisiana, we should not for one moment think that such cannot happen in the East Coast. |
You'll be fine. I go thru them every other year The worst it can do is blow down the whole house.
but sha, these American homes are so flimsy. In Naija when we build we use correct cement and block but here it's plywood and shingles. no wonder small wind usually wrecks havoc on most homes. Anyway sha, to everybody on the East Coast, stay safe and don't try to be no hero. Stay inside! |
Living large, I see ![]() How close is NJ to NY? Is the beach house really that safe? This is actually the first time I'm going to witness a hurricane up the East coast,
Not living large at all. We (hubby and I) worked real hard and saved to get that place 10 months ago. We have not even really enjoyed it and this hurricane just wants to spoil things We've boarded up windows and doors just like everybody else and we hope for the best. This is also my first hurricane experience and so was the earthquake of Tuesday or Wednesday. I pray God sees us through. |
premechaz:I said i have a beach home in Atlantic City. I live in Haddon twp but also have a beach home by the shore. is there a problem? |
I have a beach home in Atlantic City which we've boarded up. Evacuation is still going on. The casinos will not be operating this weekend. I tried to go buy cases of water and packs of candles but virtually all the Walmart Stores are sold out. My garage can only take one car and i'm still trying to find a shelter for my other car. I was going to park it in our local hospital garage but it seems everybody had the same idea. I don't want a tree falling on my car oh! The way they are announcing this hurricane is scaring the crap out of me. |
A lot of us women ttc'ing should learn something from this. It is very easy for anybody to sit behind a computer and spew lies and take advantage of another person's misfortune. A lot of us trying to conceive have gone on the TTC forum and poured out our hearts and frustrations but we really need to be careful with how much we put out there because there are other people like this Hasstrup person, prowling forums like this and seeking out the gullible super desperate ones amongst us. A few months ago, I got into a heated argument with another fake re-tard prowling this forum and seeking women to donate eggs for IVF. Everything about this person and what he was offering screamed FAKE FAKE FAKE and I called him out on it. Haastrup copied everything he wrote from another genuine doctor's site in India. That is scary. And now he is 45k richer. WHo knows how many more women have fallen victim to this man? Ladies, before you meet anybody claiming to be a doctor or surgeon or an expert on IVF, make sure you have all the facts. Research this person completely. If they say they are a IVF surgeon (never heard of that before sha), they should at least be affiliated with a properly registered Fertility Clinic, their clinic MUST have a website where potential clients can go and find information regarding IVF procedures performed in their clinic. Lastly, if they want to meet with you, your meeting should be held in the clinic following the same protocol you would use if you were just going to see your regular doctor. Mogbomoya, I hope you have learnt a lesson from this. Find a genuine ob/gyn first. Get your Ob/Gyn to refer you to a real Fertility Specialist and then go from there. Your prayers will be answered but you need to be careful. Don't be so trusting again, It could cost you your life or your ability to ever bear children. God bless p.s. All you quack and wannabe doctors prowling this health forum, God will punish you all 1 million times over. For each person whose ailment you exploit and whom you lie to and take advantage of, so shall fire and brimstone await you in hell. ![]() |
Nigerian accent confirmed to be 5th sexiest in the world (CNN). I think that settles an age old argument with Ghana. |
In my opinion, I think the main problem with our Nigerian hair stylists is that they do not have the proper training required. We need proper beauty schools in Nigeria that will teach these young women everything that needs to be taught about relaxers, hot combs, flat irons, braiding, texturizers, weaves etc. A proper course on Hair Styling 101 should last at least 6 months and at the end of their training, a certificate will be issued. Nobody should be allowed to just open a hair dressing salon without proper credentials because they were apprentices or learnt from their "aunty". It's time that Nigerians wake up and look around them and try to do things the way it should be done. We take our lives for granted everyday. We expose our health to cancer causing chemicals and other stuff because we trust that the person handling our hair/scalp is a real professional. Washing someone's hair with just one bucket of water after relaxing is just plain wrong! Hair breakge, loss and possible infections from having that chemical remain on your hair/scalp will surely happen. For all of you using relaxers and trusting these in-experienced girls to apply these chemicals on your hair, y'all need to find and watch a documentary Chris Rock did on the dangers of the stuff we black women put in our hair especially relaxers. The documentary is called Good Hair and you can watch the full thing online at www.youtube.com. Even the women braiding in the markets, how often do the sterilize the pointy looking stick the use to part the hair? people can catch ringworm and other nasty scalp infections from un-sterilized equipments. The same goes for barber shops. Let me not even start about the chemist shop in the corner! how many of them studied Pharmacology or even graduated University? Enuff said! |
http://www.hotghettomess.com/ghetto-mess/not-my-size-mess/ have fun looking at some of the crazy outrageous fashion faux pas of some people! |
i don't know if this happens in Nigeria but over here in the States, i see a lot heavy heavy girls/women wearing dresses/shirts/pants (trousers) that are not their size but they still force their rolls to squeeze into it and then they go out in public looking like the michelin man, rolls hanging out front and back and side. They even have a name for it "muffin top" it is not a very pretty sight to see a size 32 woman squeezed into a size 16 halter top! I will post some pics if i can |
Hi, Does anybody know of any shop in the New Jersey, Pennsylvania area where Nigerian/African dresses are sold or made? I desperately need to buy or make some outfits that i can also wear to the office. Nothing outrageous. Just classy and beautiful and sexy as well ![]() Thanks for any answers I get. |
limpopo:you're welcome. Just check your water source or chage the soap you use. When i was in Nigeria and my body kept itching after each shower, i swear i tot i had craw-craw until i moved to the US and my dermatologist told me what it could be. There is actually a kind of filter that one can buy and attach to taps and shower head and it has a chemical that will soften the water and remove most impurities. That's water i use in my home. Next time u want to bath, add a table spoon of bicarbonate soda into your water. Hope this helps. |
which kind of infection? ![]() I have the same problem and so does my husband and we live in the US. It's the water! Our water here can get what we call "hard" or over chlorinated. When that happens you body will itch after baths and showers. Sometimes, it could be the soap being used too. When we take baths, we use a little amount of baking soda in the water and it helps greatly with the itching. I also changed my bathing soap to something with moisturizers in it like Dove. Anyway, here's a tip on how to soften water How to Soften Water at Home |
A home away from home. ![]() Every time i'm down in the dumps or homesick, Nollywood movies is like a soothing balm to my soul but it also make me more homesick |
Patnoble:Are y'all for real?? @ poster, why are u here asking for advice when ur girlfriend is peeing stuff that isn't urine? Why haven't you taken to her to a proper hospital? She is worried about her womb?? ? are you kidding me? She should be freaking worried about her life and not her womb at this point! I swear sometimes, we Nigerians play with our lives. there are things in life that isn't like rocket science but requires just plain old common sense. bleeding non stop + peeing particles = hospitalization/CT Scans/MRI/urgent care treatment and a possible liver transplant (if her liver has really dis-integrated to the point of peeing it out, even though I 100% do not believe that's the case. She wouldn't be alive if it were so) if you care about her, get ur but*t off the computer and take her to a proper doctor and hospital and not any "boojua" doctor that just casually says "the ulcer has eaten up her liver" Good luck to you both |
llade:I might be wrong, but i think he's trying to say if he's wife could drive/take herself to the clinic for her antenatal when she was 9 months pregnant, she sure doesn't need him for what he considers minor "abdominal pains" ![]() I don't think he's saying she's currently pregnant but like i said, I could be wrong in my understanding of his post. Maybe he needs to expatiate some more on this. Personally, I think she might be hiding some kind of ailment from her hubby and that's why she refused to go to the company clinic which is free compare to a mosquito biting clinic with an absentee doctor who is now asking her hubby to pay the bills. Oh well, that's just my take on it, ![]() |
Thanks iice! I enjoyed reading Siena's post and all the responses! |
This might come across as a silly question to some people but I honestly would like to know especially from those that have kids, "what were the qualities you looked out for before deciding on the person you picked as your baby's god-parent"? What if you have lots of very good friends, were you torn between who to pick? and after you made your choice, did you have to explain to your other friends why you didn't choose them? We are having a baby shower for my girlfriend and co-worker next week. This girl is so sweet and friendly BUT she is friends with virtually everybody in this office (all 800+ employees)! Everybody here love her and her baby shower plans being organised by the employees, is like nobody has ever seen. But she is so confused and worried over who she will pick as the god-parents to her twins when they are born. Everybody (including me of course ) have told her that we want to be god-parents. The poor thing is literally hyperventilating over this issue. Apparently, this is a big thing in foreign countries! By the way, what is the role of a god-parent? |
Nellyon: she's refering to the red underwear the "ham" chick is wearing underneath all that meat and wrap! In Naija we call it "pant". In the US they call it "draws" (drawers), "underwear" etc. |
i heard some research companies pay top $$ for placentas. I also heard it is used in the making of lipsticks and other cosmetics @ poster, to answer ur question, I would say dig a very deep hole in ur backyard, deep enough that a dog won't be able to get to it. Then bury it! that's how I've seen people back home do it! |
Slices of ham and saran wrap? ![]() |
I had a second HSG done today. Results are dis-heartening. My tubes are completely blocked. . What kills me is that last year I had one one and i was told that everything was in good working condition. And today, I hear and see something different which makes a lot of sense. i was given a CD of the whole procedure just in case I needed a 2nd opinion. It clearly showed the dye passing through my uterus and then stopping when it got to my tubes. the pain was out of this world! there are surgeries that can be done to fix the problem but because of my age, my husband and I and my RE have decided that the way to go is IVF. However way a pregnancy is achieved, the end result is all that really matters. Baby dust and sprinkles to all you beautiful couples struggling like I've been for the past 8 years! By the way, my doctor says I probably had an infection that wasn't properly treated years ago before I got married. he's right! As a teenager, I once had a staph infection and i didn't seek treatment early enough. the only infection I've ever had in my life and I'm paying for it dearly now! |
) Even his stance is awkward.
