Thank you dear friend StarFlux. I will look at Amazon , Being so far away, and with so little material, the task becomes very difficult. Kind regards! |
I understand that amor4ce's post really interesting. And the answer from Odumchi is also true. Creoque not contradict both. On one hand it exposes the etymology of a word, and the other the change of direction for historical reasons might have, In my humble opinion, two very interesting exhibitions, a very good support! Thank you! With regard to the issue of racism , only expesarse rejection, condemnation and repudiation. |
StarFlux:I do not think there is malice in her question. I understand that your question is which of these languages to learn, ask the experts for help. I too am a foreigner, and I have only very basic notions of Yoruba, for of all the African languages is that more is known at least in the South and Central America. Course this does not imply that it is easier or better. The little caencia literature and lack dictionaries (Yoruba-English: I know a work of Abraham in the decade of the 50, Yoruba-Spanish: I have understood that there , ). Only some poor phonetic explanation of any site , For these reasons it is not easy for a researcher or interested to learn those languages. I hope nobody feels offended by my opinion, and that it is helpful to the beloved sister. |
So you're saying that the Catholic Church has lied? That decisions of such councils, which were taken 300 years after Christ were only a parody? Well I do not offend the Vatican and the church , I think a true Christian would not do , Sometimes, a tree will look after exterminating the forest ends , If you are Catholic, it is logical to defend the Bible (New Testament) but be careful , that's why I do not end just attacking and discrediting his church , But do not take this as an attack on you , everyone is entitled to have our point of view , what is important is to have a vision perhaps a little more comprehensive reading of the Bible and historical facts (including those supported by the Catholic Church) My sincere compliments. |
Thank you very much dear brother! It is very useful, but still be in Spanish and a lot of information that is not easy. A friendly greeting! |
PAGAN 9JA:Dear brother PAGAN 9JA. I'm from Montevideo, Uruguay, South America. I have spent many years of my life studying on the historical, cultural and traditional African. Even diverdad participate regularly in activities on the subject, as well as the traditions and culture of the diaspora. My participation in the forum is just to exchange information on common, but never to open judgments on domestic issues, it would be presumptuous on my part. I thank the administrators, burn you and other brothers have accepted even a foreigner, I would like to say also that I have read your posts and you deserve my utmost respect. I am very happy to meet people like you. And again I apologize for my bad writing, and speaking different languages but not English , In warm greeting from the other side of the ocean !!!!!!! |
Mó jubá! Dear brothers, especially the Pastor AIO; is a pleasure to read. The original African religion IFA Orisá, has different interpretations in America. All of them differ in some respect with the original cult, but that is due not only to the persecution and prohibition of worship in times of slavery, but for geographical reasons, lack of certain ritual elements that should be adapted, and so on. and so on. These cults are Batuque (southern Brazil) Candomblé (north-central Brazil), Santeria (Cuba) and Voodoo (Haiti) among others. They are all different, but are rooted in the original Yoruba worship. If any brother considers it important to delve into the subject, I will make with the greatest pleasure. I'm really happy to have found this forum and very grateful to the moderators and brothers. Se alaafia! |
okooyinbo:Exactly. As far as a certain type of dog was used in the ceremonies of Orisa Ogun. By some accounts, it would not be any dog, but a certain type of dog. Pierre Fatumbí Verger in his book "Orisá" published some pictures about it. I think now that has changed in this cult, and not know what the animal is used today. I am a researcher and scholar of Yoruba traditions, so I ask the brothers confirm or correct me what I have. It would be helpful. Kind regards to all! |
The concept that Jesus is God, arises in the first Ecumenical Council, held at the request of Constantine, in 325, in the city of Nicea because of the "Arian controversy" that through the direct intervention of Constantine (above of bishops) were found in favor of that Jesus was God, against the opinion of many bishops who defended the idea that Jesus was God's creation so being a creation could not be God. It would be interesting to read the presentations and resolutions of this Council, as well as that of Trent 1545-1563 when we approach issues like this, or the existence of purgatory. My respects. |
Dear brother PAGAN 9JA: I live very far from Nigeria. I'm not even African, but I deeply respect their religion and I share many of its principles. How not to understand when you say you feel like losers after centuries of persecution and procrastination? In many ways my people and yours have much in common historically I also understand when you say it is very easy to write here and not living reality. You are right, and I wish I could do something different , something more constructive. I can be wrong, and hopefully no one understands my comment as an offense, this is not my intention, but it hurts that many Africans despise their own essence and its past, or make fun of it. Believe me, dear friend PAGAN 9JA that I can even share a lot of what you think , but I still think that besides the content, it is also important the way they say. I hope you do not feel offended, it is very difficult for me to express myself in a language that is totally alien. I extend my hand of friendship and affectionately. |
Dear friends. I do not go here to discredit or offend anyone. I understand that this discussion is not bringing anything, however, went on a personal level that does not serve. I just wish that the dialogue was of a higher level. Everyone has a right to their beliefs. No religion "bad", but honest and dishonest people , and that happens with Catholicism, traditional religion, Islam, Judaism , If a belief defend disqualify the other, we are actually dirtying our own faith. Do not let us just what the Europeans did in the world , want to impose by force and not reason. The men are all brothers, regardless of color, creed or social status. To us there are more things that unite us than divide us , Honor the God we say we love while respecting the rights of the other , |
focused345:Please forgive me my dear friend, but your comment is not happy. You have denoted great lack of education. I'm sure that style is not the one who preaches his beliefs. I regret having intervened calling for calm and common sense. There is no right or wrong belief , that there are honest and vile. |
Dear friends. I urge calm. The injury to the other increases our reason. Hard to believe that a religion that did not consider blacks human beings at some point be representative of these. But it is a matter of faith , and as there are whites in America who practice African Religion, it is logical that in Africa there are blacks who practice Catholicism. Excuse my bad English |
Pastor AIO:I agree with you. If we ask respect for ourselves, we must lead by example, I see with pain as many Africans talk about their traditions with contempt , ironically , and disrespect. These traditions (shared or not), are part of the cultural heritage of Africa. When I see such contempt by some, I think of their ancestors , are they not also making fun of them? I'm not African, but I respect and appreciate the historical legacy that these people left the world. Respect cultural traditions much more than those imposed by fire and sword by the conquerors, whoever they were the latter. My greetings and deep respect for the Yoruba people. A friend of Uruguay. -and please excuse my bad English- |
