ekeroyal: Lost And Found My Stolen Phone After 7 Months
This may sound unreal to some persons but it is real and happened in Nigeria. It is about my iPhone 4S, I only bought it January 2014, a new one. The story is funny with a few lessons and inferences drawn from here and there. This is how it went.........
I lost my phone in a taxi in Port Harcourt on the 28th of April, 2014. It probably slipped out of my pocket. When I realized it, I quickly tried tracking the taxi driver but couldn't find him that evening. I waited for him around the route where he operates but couldn't find him. To make matters worst, the phone was offline as I had only returned from an island with very little Airtel signal, hence I couldn't call it. The next day I was to travel, but I couldn't go. I waited for him again around the route he operates and fortunately I found him but he simply told me, he didn't see my phone. I was crest fallen and started accepting the reality. That evening I told my better half who was far off, of my predicament and she simply said, am not convinced you lost that phone". I began to imagine if she was a prophet from God or she simply said it to calm me down.
I had so much information on the phone that I almost got it announced on radio, safe for the fact that such announcements can't be made. The next day I traveled and simply tried to forget the phone. I was so feeling bad because I didn't activate the iCloud or Lost iPhone app. But before I traveled, I logged into the apple portal with my account and left a message, "If you find this phone, it is lost. Simply call 080********. A reward awaits you". Then I relaxed. That weekend I suddenly tried calling the phone and it rang for six (6) times and nobody picked it. I sent two sms yet no response. At that point I was feeling even worse because somehow the iPhone is unlocked now, I thought. At this point, I had to forget it and bother my head with other issues. But one interesting decision I made was to stick to my Asha dual SIM phone I was using besides the iPhone until February 2015 when I would buy a new one.
On November 17, 2014 I was back in PHC again. Then came the mysterious call by about 21:38hrs on November 28, 2014. The caller introduced himself, though I didn't catch the name and it was seen as one of those trivial calls, until he asked "did you lose you iPhone recently?" I went ahead to give him details of where, when and how I last saw my iPhone. "call me tomorrow so I can direct you on where to come pick your iPhone", he added. That was it. I went there, met with about five young men and after about 20 minutes wait, another young man came with the iPhone. Behold, it was still fresh and clean. And I smartly inquired what really happened. I could decipher that the young man who called me intended to buy the iPhone but got frustrated when all efforts to unlock it proved abortive. So he decided it meant nothing than to return it to the owner. When I inserted a SIM, I accessed the iCloud server and immediately I entered my credentials, the iPhone was unlocked.
I know technology was at work, but at the same time I also feel there was hand of God. The point is, even if the fellow wasn't able to unlock it and got frustrated as the days went by, he could have as well decided to also crush it. But he didn't, instead he took the bold step by calling. He was surprised when I told him I didn't inform the Police and I also didn't come with any Police or something.
Meanwhile, my lost hope in Nigeria and Nigerians is gradually coming back. I simply didn't expect getting my iPhone back.
What do you think fellas? Couldnt he have plash it to unlock? Or its impossible? |

kizbad: Police corruption is a form of police misconduct in which law enforcement officers seek personal gain, such as money or career advancement, through the abuse of power, for example by accepting bribes in exchange for not pursuing, or selectively pursuing, an investigation or arrest. Throughout the world, police forces are cause of deep-rooted corruption. They involved in such criminal activities that hurt the society and endangered its citizens. Many policemen are underpaid and want to make extra money, they turn to corruption – but their selfish acts have caused a large amount of damage on countries that desperately need help. Here are the 10 most corrupt police forces in the world. 10. Pakistan Police. https://i0.wp.com/www.wonderslist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/pakistan-police-caught-bribing.jpg?resize=500%2C336 Pakistan’s police has been ranked among the most corrupt institutions in the country in a survey by an international anti-graft watchdog. Many citizens believe that the police is the most corrupt sector of the Pakistani government. Police brutality, extortion bribery and arresting innocent citizens are all crimes that have been committed among Pakistan’s police forces. 9. Russia Police. https://i1.wp.com/www.wonderslist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Russia-Police.jpg?resize=500%2C335 Russian government is no stranger to corruption, especially within its police force. Within recent years, facts have surfaced about the corruption and crimes being committed by Russian police officers. Police brutality, extorting bribes and arresting innocent citizens are all crimes that have been committed among Russian police forces. In order to ensure monthly quotas and make ends meet, Russian police turn to corruption and bribery. 8. Sudan Police. https://i0.wp.com/www.wonderslist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Sudan-Police.jpg?resize=500%2C333 Sudan is one of the most corrupt countries for various reasons. Not only has their former president Oman Al-Bashir been indicted for war crimes and genocide, but this nation suffers from a corrupt police force. Sudanese police have been known to extort bribes from civilians in order to supplement their incomes. Police rarely file reports or investigate crimes, and often use violence and retaliation against people who complain about police abuses. 7. Afghanistan Police. https://i1.wp.com/www.wonderslist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Afghan-Police-Force.jpg?resize=500%2C347 Afghanistan has had one of the most corrupt police forces in the world, and it seems like it’s only getting worse with time. Graft has made it impossible for Afghan police to improve and effectively do their job, but corruption is witnessed within the police force, as well.
Afghan police have been known to extort money and inflict violence on civilians at police checkpoints around the country. Police also bribe civilians into paying them for their release from prison or to avoid arrest. Although police corruption has gotten slightly better with international efforts and retraining, it continues to suffer at the whim of governmental corruption and power.
6. Somalia Police. https://i1.wp.com/www.wonderslist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Somalia-Police-Force.jpg?resize=500%2C341 The Somali police force is at No. 4 amongst the most corrupt in the world. Iraqi police continue to be highly sectarian and participate in kidnappings, ransom payments and bribery. They have proven to be ineffective at controlling terrorism efforts and protecting civilians in the ways they need to be. 4. Burma Police. https://i2.wp.com/www.wonderslist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Burma-Police.jpg?resize=500%2C312 Burma ranked 4 amongst the countries with a troubled agency. I think its extreemly stupid going to ssuch length to propose to a lady.
Proposinng should be private so the lady can be honest.
Some laadies will say yes so you donnt get embarassed in public.

Amya: I started seeing this course-mate of mine 3 months ago. We aren't boyfriend and girlfriend in the real sense of the word, but we were quite close. We are both in our final year and we didn't really know each other much all these years but I've always noticed and admired him over the years. Somehow, through a twist of fate we became close and i started developing real feelings for him. This year, our intimacy went to a whole new level and we started having sex and regularly too. I knew we couldn't be in the stereotypical relationship, but we were lovers. Even though i wanted much more than that, but i was content with the way things were and i didn't want it to change. There wasn't any form of commitment from both parties. . .which was still okay. . . I should mention that I'm 3 years older than him even though i don't know if he knows it. This is actually my inhibition in getting too serious with him. . .i know it can never work, that there can never be a happily ever after end to that one, but i fell in love.
Yesterday, while we were in school, we were together as we always and there wasn't any hint that anything was amiss. . much later in the day, i called him to ask him if he wanted to spend the night at my place, but he didn't take the call. i sent him a text, he didn't reply. I assumed nothing.
Today, i was reading through status updates on face book, and i saw the one he posted last night ""months of meaningless sex , worthless relationships, finally I'm in love n I'm happy" i can't describe how hurt i felt. Its really hurting...don't even talk to him about it.pretend like you didn't notice the faccebook update. The move on and don't hold any grudge so he doesnnt know he hurt you. So sorry. |
