SURE-P GIS is not a ministry or agency of the government that's backed by the constitution and therefore can be scrapped off by the new administration, without being seen as breaking the law. SURE-P is just a programme of the immediate past government. It's a brainchild of GEJ to save the funds that would accrue to the Federal Government on the partial deregulation of PMS. In fact, The Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme was designed along the line of the transformation agenda of the President, the life span of which is 2012 – 2015. However, there's a reason why the GIS ARM of SURE-P is still the active arm of SURE-P right now - Employment. The new administration has not stated any intention to close it down or scrap it off. So, to answer your question - It continues.

Rem. I informed you of the company in the first place. I have no reason whatsoever to exclude your brother's name from my list. I do not even know the other guy, and he has not even emailed me to say thanks. I included your brother's name and the other person's name on the list for that company. The company had 2 slots remaining as they claimed. Haven't checked why your brother's own didn't go through. Do not have much time to work on that for now. Remind me when and if I start to match again.

At the time when I requested that prospective interns send in their information (Just before the elections), there was some kind of reservation in SURE-P for fresh matching and rematch. I did not expect the huge number of cases of Fresh match and Rematch. I got over 130 names for either fresh match or rematch. The whole list was compiled and worked on. About 45 interns confirmed their fresh match or rematch but majority were not matched.

Reasons:
Some of the firms sent in by interns had already absorbed interns up to their hire limit.
A few of the firms sent in were not even approved.
Most of the other interns that were not matched was as a result of the reservation the director had on fresh matching/rematch at that time.

I may in the next few weeks try and rematch (if possible) the ones on this thread who were not fortunate to be matched then, who have their names on the list compiled then.

This has always been my fears with throwing stuffs like this open. The word spreads fast and people get details of their friends who are not on this thread. Are you matched with a firm in Anambra? Your tale sounds like a typical one that domiciles in Anambra state. You guys should stop paying for the services of the 'so-called contacts in Abuja' who helps the employers over there to process delayed payments.
