That Alagoa wrote a very very poor book on Bonny history that was riddled with poorly verifiable accounts. The academic of Swansea university was very pissed to see the content after having high hopes.
Stop lying. The accounts are readily verifiable from the original manuscript by Prof. fombo in the university library. The reviewer only expected Alagoa to have worked with a lot more materials.

Lets also thank the University of Cambridge for going to extra mile to repost a short notice warning the general public about the fraud.
For University of Cambridge to publish a special notice on a publication, that sin must be very very bad.
Where is the warnings by Cambridge?
Does "shorter notice" means public warnings? cheesy
so, where is the warnings? because I can't see any warning statements in there. It be a huge disappointment on your Education if you assume "shorter notice" is the same as "public warning". I even feel more sorry for the gullible illiterates you deceived for cheap likes.

Most of these guys daftness is obviously hereditary.

You don't feel insulted that the work of your most distinguished Professor is considered to be the work of an illiterate.

So much that the integrity of a renowned university was put to question.

Another mugu is asking where is the fraudulent act?

I bet there is another word for the act of intentionally altering the original contents of a manuscript handed to him. In an attempt to suit his primordial interest, he doctored it so much it became unrecognizable, that reviewers had to demand for the original manuscript.
Is the reputation of Cambridge University in question?

Accordingly to the reviewer " As the title suggests, it is a chronicle, and a bare one"
It is a chronicle for goodness sake!. Why are you guys pulling muscles!

The reviewer in question had a more expectation of the book. He expected references for the photographs and footnotes, which was not provided in the book. He had also expected him to have used more sources from abundant materials available rather than rely too much on the works of fombo. Fombo had the original documents but Alagoa copied way too much from it. "In the meantime, Ibadan University press could consider giving us Mr.Fombo's original text.
He believed Alagoa's work was a copy and paste of Prof. Fombo's original manuscript.

I don't why it's too hard for you guys to use your brains.

The Nigerian education is very terrible.

You didn't see where they said he didnt reference his works? No.1 sin after plagiarism or at par.

You didn't see where they mentioned that he bastardized the original manuscript?

You didn't read the other academic frauds that was noted?

He was accused of rewriting an original work and changing the content replacing key subjects by himself.

Nigerian education is really terrible I swear.... so, you don't know the implications of republishing a short notice in an academic journal? Wow.
All your fabrications only exist in your head. You throwing up a 3 page charge sheet against Alagoa over a review that is as easy to understand as much as possible. cheesy

He wasn't accused of plagiarism, neither was he accused of academic fraud, bastardizing an original manuscript nor rewriting any content. Why are you all lying over something that is written in a very simple terms?

The reviewer's only dissatisfaction was that Alagoa used too much of Fombo's work as his while using less of other references, materials from other sources. In his words "Mr. Fombo's manuscript has been completely submerged by Dr. Alagoa's new text"
I want to assume that Alagoa realizes this fact which was why he acknowledges Prof. Fambo as co- author- A Chronicle of Grand Bonny By EJ Alagoa and A.Fombo . So, what gives you the rights to accuse him of plagiarism when he had already acknowledged the original owner of his works as co-writer. Perhaps, Fambo must have given him the permission.

Like i said, your fabrications only exists in your head. As we speak, Cambridge University is still publishing it and making it available for download. Much Ado over Nothing.

Ibos are very cunning and fraudulent. They are trying as hard as possible to misinterpret a very simple review by tagging it " fraudulent" which is far off from what was alluded in the review.
Not having enough sources or primary citations does not mean it was fraudulent.

Do you think Ibadan University Press and Cambridge University Press would publish fraudulent materials or anything remotely close.

[s]A notable ijaw scholar's History Book on Bonny has been called out as fraudulent.

A Chronicle of Grand Bonny is the title of the book co-authored by notable ijaw historian about the true origin and identity of Bonny/Ebane people. However, it is embarrassing to note that several acclaimed leaders in the academia while conducting a peer review of the said book called it a disappointing and non scholarly write up.

So the question is:

If ijaws claim about Bonny is factual why publish a doctored account?[/s]
Trash!. slow understanding dey worry u.
I doubt you know that Alagoa also worked with Fombo. Since the Almighty Review also acknowledges Fambo's works as a credible reference, I hope you guys won't change your mouth tomorrow to discredit Fombo's work if you found out it doesn't fit into your narratives.
Politics › Re: Notable Ijaw Scholar's History Book On Bonny Called Out As Fraudulent by Putindbutt(m): 8:14am On Dec 16, 2021
Ekealterego:
Brother, this is not just a review, it was a special notice academically sponsored, Cambridge published and University of Swansea backed rejection of a fraud.

The book was about Bonny, which at that time became a tool for propaganda rather than true academic work.

Going through its one by one

1. University of Swansea and Cambridge University thought this was a roadside and hungry beer parlour historians that wrote the history about Bonny.

This is a very disappointing little book. On picking it up I thought that
Ibadan University Press had taken the enterprising step of publishing a history
of one of the most important Niger delta towns, written by a local historian who
had not been trained at a University.

2. Here, it states that Algoa falsified the original manuscript and history with his own fantasies.

I hoped and assumed that Dr Alagoa's
contribution would be restricted to scholarly annotation, and perhaps a separate
comment. But instead, Mr Fombo's manuscript, originally acquired by Professor
Anene in I963 and now in the Africana Collection of the University of Ibadan,
has been completely submerged by Dr Alagoa's new text.

3. Alagoa being a fraud again rewriting history and replacing academic history with his own falsification. A serious academic crime
What is worse is that
the new text is neither very scholarly nor very interesting. As the title suggests,
it is a chronicle, and a bare one. There is virtually no attempt at interpretation
at all, just a sequence of kings and events.

4. Alagoa failed to use references (Biggest academic sin) and decided not to use original history

The references which are made are mostly to secondary sources, and almost completely ignore the main source for
the Niger coast, F.O. 84 (Slave Trade).
There are no references given for the photographs, a characteristic regrettably common in Nigerian histories. Thus
this book does little but reveal the need for a proper history of Bonny, a worth-while project for which there is abundant material. In it, this chronicle will deserve a footnote. In the meantime, Ibadan University Press could consider giving us Mr Fombo's original text. Then perhaps they could follow it up with the work of other local historians such as E. N. Amaku of Calabar.

5. In case you don't understand, Alagoa was fraudulently replacing some key people, names and ethnicity with his own. That is what they meant by "bowdlerize".

But let us have the original script intact, before the scholars bowdlerize it out of recognition.

In summary, Bonny's history was fraudulently rewritten by Alagoa. What a shame! They called him a roadside historian while committing academic sin.
It seems you guys have comprehension issues. According to the review, the reviewer expressed disappointment in the fact that the author uses more secondary sources than main sources.
It was just a chronicle as the title implies, which was why Cambridge referred to it as shorter notices.

They was no where, impliedly or expressly that it was called fraudulent. The crux was that Alagoa uses less materials and references.

Look at the 13th line of the first paragraph.

Comprehension is a difficult thing for you more especially.
And the brass people are Nembe people, and I am a Nembe man, and we trace our ancestry to ijo.

Still you failed woefully to answer my question on why Bonny is called OKOLOMA by themselves and okoloBA, ebane etc by the ibos.
And why were ibos slaves?
Why were they enculturated to answer names that weren't igbotic.
You're using ogidi and inwelle as instance but does that change the fact that ogidi sprung from Igbo?
No! We all know this because the dialect are similar. You are bringing this logic, but don't want to bring the same logic because it will also link OKOLOMA or the brass people to their ancestry just as ogidi is to Igbo. The double standards is sickening.
I again ask you,
Why were they enculturated to answer okoloama-ijo names.
Why not okwarazurumba mbanaso? Why change it to Jubo jubogha?

Yet you dodged again like matrix.
Take a look at the 13th line of your Excerpt (the first paragraph)
It clearly stated that the eboes ARE FROM A NEIGHBORING COUNTRY.
I will unfollow this online grabbing thread and allow you all to continue in your foolishness.
