as if you are reading my mind presently! I just picked a domain hoping to sell to a very big China company that are using the singular for $$$$. The singular was just created 7yr ago while the plural has been for 18yr with only one drop. I listed the domain only to discovered it's was listed since 2017 for $280 on Dan. I was disappointed for not knowing that before, I only check afternic for it's listing possibility and it's wasn't, but fail to check on Dan. Anyway anything can happen, have contacted the company and the name got 9 visit already!

2017. Is very very ok....sometimes even 2018.....but I avoid any Geo previously listed in 2019...but what do I know...I'm a newbie.

Before I bought this very name, i checked Archive, this website is the exclusive marketplace where koalacabinets is sold, its the online marketplace for their us based customers, almost all the 5k backlinks reffered people to sewingandcraftclub even their official austrailian website. I even had to confirm if they owned it at their facebook page before buying.

Tacony owns it and the also own brands like Madeira, klasse, koalastudios, amazingdesign, and many more and All of them have banners of this website embedded on them.

I think you should hold on to the name. And contact them. Tell them it's up for sale and their are several traffic coming in due to the backlinks which translates to leads. Set it like $5000. If they don't want..then you result to developing the website.....you wouldn't want to drop such name.

I'll give you an idea....go to archive/org wayback machine....go look up the history if it were a developed site before. If yes, understand the contents and audience. Redevelop it by copying and pasting same contents....add few articles here and there proper on page SEO nd off page seo etc....if u r a blogger you get the drift...

So from my experience so far, I've noticed that some stroke of luck and patience is needed in this business, it is not about the amount of names its more about the right names, and while that is imperative, one thing might work for some, while it'll not work for others.
And like you said listing in different platforms might give your names a better chance of selling faster. Keep the hope alive.

Just going through SH. Some individuals have over 5000+ names. Some guys are so good with names like how do they do it.

I currently have 38 names in SH. If person make a sale for SH make person really thank God.

Because, I have noticed something with Western ventures like: Google, FB, YTube & d rest. Their philosophy doesn't encourage neutral playing ground for all. Their Algorithm most times favors early starters and big guys in the industry that are already well rooted.

Whilst, some Chinese ventures aren't like that.

For example: Google Search Engine ( American venture): as a new blogger...before Google indexes ur blog articles to First page....ehh. Bloggers got the drip. But, those old sites with multiple backlinks and authority you see them coming to First page, even if they copied your article.

Example 2: Twitter, FB, Instagram, Ytube(American venture): as a social media marketer or influencer before you start pulling massive followership etc...ehh!

Now coming down to some Chinese ventures, like TikTok and AliExpress.

AliExpress: as a new seller. Your products are listed on their First page even though you have not pulled any sale or had any reviews. Those conversant with buying from AliExpress can testify this. It's not only the products of the highest or oldest sellers you will find on AliExpress First pages.

TikTok: now you find out most people are jumping into the app to make videos. Why? Becos, a nobody with even d most mediocre video will get thousands of views, discoverability, likes etc. Sometimes I find some superstars in real life without much followers. Now what the American do, they said they want to BAN TIKtok.

Sorry, to bore you with my write up just an observation.

So coming down to the domain something, I think SH are a bit fair with their Algorithm, becos sometimes you see people with just 5 or less names making a sale.

Moving forward. I think the best way for newbies and individuals to make a way for themselves is to grab the bull by the horn.

That is, don't rely on this market places if domaining is your full time something.

Buy quality names with at least 90% probability to sale. Whether Geo or something else. Outbound to end users at your free time or create an FB Ad that points to your sale lander( I'm thinking of this option).

List in Afternic, Sedo, Dan, Auction & Epik etc

And wait for God grace.

I grab. That's the problem with most American tech companies. Their algorithm most times don't favor late comers. Except they make an edit of it. Example, 1. Google Search Engine ( as a blogger, if u aren't long in the game and have the capacitation for adverts ur blog may scarcely get any crawl from search engine), 2. Facebook/twitter/YouTube etc (if u aren't early enough to amass a bunch of followers you may not be able to make leads.

But for Chinese companies like AliExpress ( you find that their Algorithm also consider new sellers. You tend to see product of new sellers even in the Home page. If you are conversant with AliExpress, you will understand what I mean.

But, you should have left some there. Because, sometimes, some of these companies change their algorithms and policies, you never know when it may click for you.

Yes you're right. It's a choice for most pros like yourself in the industry. Because SH is just a lander like any other lander. Sales can be made via any other channel depends on the technique. But for starters and learners like us, SH is a viable option to test out understanding of the industry.

SantaLeaf/king is available for reg. Please what's your take. I'm contemplating it could be a good one for herb/health/CBD but not sure. Domain dates back to around 2000. It can't be submitted on SH. @beckplanet @branduche
