No, you don't have to. You will be required to sign with with your name when you want to submit your application; that will cover every signature page. Best wishes!

Hi everyone,

Hello,
I can understand how frustrating it's that processing time has elapsed for your application and you are yet to receive any updates on your application. You ought to have received decision on your application by now considering that the UK has a low processing time of 12 wks.

I can see you have made efforts to contact IRCC. If you currently reside in Canada, you may want to call the IRCC helpline to speak to an agent. While it's difficult to get them to answer the phone, I just did a research online, and stumbled on this trick (see attached photos). I guess the 8am in the attached files is in ET (Ontario time zone)

Regarding if you should withdraw the application and apply through Nairobi, that would involve your husband relocating to Nigeria from the UK.

Although you have exercised a lot of patience already, I would urge you to hold on for a little while. While you wait, keep praying!

I hope this helps...

Best wishes!

khosen:
My people please you guys should help me out ooo... I'm tired of this wait. My spouse is in UK and our application is over 3months meanwhile their processing time is 12weeks, it's like nothing is happening from that office at the moment. Is it advisable for us to withdraw our application and apply through Nairobi because I can see responses are coming within 3months from Nairobi.
I don't even know how this is possible because he's based in UK so automatically the application is processed from there. I heard applications since December has not even been updated to medical passed... Mine for over 3months is still same way since the first day we submitted. I fear this might linger for months without response. I have contacted MP, no response, I have sent emails to London, no response... I need advice abeg.

@bcadedoja, I just sent you a private message...

bcadedoja:
Congratulations on this great news….may the rest of the journey be smooth for you and your family
If you don’t mind sharing your email format with me, I will appreciate. I want to send humble email too. Application has been submitted since June

SOWP PPR is here!....

Hello house, please rejoice with me as my wife's PPR just dropped. We applied on June 16 2022, review started first week in August and medical was updated to pass on August 8 (did upfront medical). Bvl letter sent on August 17th, and ever since then, no update!

Although we were worried why BVL was sent without PPR, we were calm as the application has been processed faster than we expected (65 wks processing time as at the time we submitted in June)

But on seeing the message that @Kam3 posted this morning that her/his PPR already dropped, I was motivated to contact IRCC since Kam3 submitted his/her application in July while we submitted June.

I immediately wrote an email to IRCC, explaining that we were yet to hear back from them since BVL was sent. I immediately received a confirmation email that I will be responded to in 5 working days. Since it's late here Canada, I was just about going to bed when my wife called that I should check her gmail for an email from IRCC.

Lo and behold, PPR message has dropped! That was just like 28 mins after I sent the email to IRCC.

Did you apply using the same account from 2017? If so, can you login and verify that the biometric information is valid until 2027? If you answer yes to the above questions, then write IRCC informing them that your husband's biometric is still valid, and the account/portal is showing that.

If no, then follow the instructions in the request letter and do a new biometric. Good luck!

Ajoke08:
Hello everyone, pls I receive a request letter for my husband biometric receipt this morning. He was refused visiting visa in 2017 which was paper based application and he did biometric then. So when I submitted this application, he did not do biometrics (since validity is 10yrs) .the issue now is we can’t find the receipt and we don’t know the receipt number .. I am thinking we should pay for another one..
TravelRe: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by Pyale: 12:19am On Sep 09, 2022
You can apply in parallel and allow IRCC to decide which application to process. Usually, they will cancel your VV application, and process your SOWP application. Good luck!

misternaija:
Wow! Thanks for this info. What can I do for my spouse who has already applied for visit without response for 3months? Can I apply for SOWP in parallel or do I need to cancel her visit application before applying for SOWP?
TravelRe: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by Pyale: 2:22pm On Sep 08, 2022
You can only download the relevant forms from within your application portal. The forms are different depending on the different application categories. So please do not download from any other non-IRCC websites.

Good day, please where can i download SOWP pdf form and visiting form. Thanks
TravelRe: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by Pyale: 10:12am On Sep 08, 2022
I totally agree with @Skull4eva response. Please apply for SOWP. I have a friend who applied for visitor visa for her husband since May, and as I write, there has been no update on that application. Meanwhile, my spouse applied for SOWP in June and it's already approved. Visitor visa tends to take longer these days. Instead of you going through immigration twice, it's advisable to apply for SOWP. Good luck!

Hello guys, its really nice to be here reading from soo many gurus and all the success stories are quite encouraging. My wife got to Canada 2 weeks ago and i plan to join her soon. I read that SOWP takes atleast of 6months to be processed but visit visa is faster. I will like to ask for the suggestion of the gurus in the house. Should i apply for visit visa and change status once i get to Canada? @Kam3, @skull4eva, @Pyale, @jimogh111 your input is highly needed please.

Thanks guys

You can use her GC key, or create a new GC account. In my spouse's case, we had to create a new account, and applied through the new account. That said, I have seen people use same account. Best wishes.

Meanwhile, my wife and I got married in December 2021, and I returned to Canada in January 2022. She just finished her undergraduate studies last month, so this good news is coming at the right time!

I want to use this medium to return all thanks and praises to Almighty God who facilitated my wife's SOWP.

I also want to thank everyone on this platform who has been so helpful in responding to messages, and providing necessary guidance on the SOWP application. Without your help and testimonies here, we wouldn't have been able to put forward a very strong application.

And for those of us still waiting for a decision, yours is next! Regularly pray about your application and don't lose hope.

And just an advice, when sending message to IRCC, be humble, praise them first, acknowledge that you understand they are dealing with lots of applications before making your request.

Thank you, Master JESUS!!!

Congratulations!

Praise God!!!! What God cannot do does not exist.

Hi Everyone, I am here to share my testimony and also drop the timeline of my application. It hasn’t been an easy road but God finally completed His work and to Him I return all the glory.
This was my second SOWP visa application as I had put in my first application together with my wife’s first study permit application early 2021 and both applications got refused. We had retained initially retained the services of a very reputable IRCC registered consultant in Canada and spent so much for this service, so getting a refusal on both applications had taken us off balance. In that confusion and desperation for a quick solution, I had gotten online and discovered the Study Permit thread on Nairaland which I thoroughly read through for weeks and kept coming across a particular name with people singing his praises and how he helped transform their cases and refusals to approvals through his detailed touch “Frankrobb”, I took a leap of faith and reached out to him and I must confess, that was one of the greatest decisions I ever made. After consulting with him, we agreed my wife applied alone for her second study permit application and when she gets the visa and arrives Canada, I apply for my SOWP to join her which we did and here we are, all visas approved to the praises, glory and thanks to God almighty. I want to also use this medium to appreciate Mr Frank for his hard work and also being a blessing to my family’s application success, your cup will never run dry, men will favour you and come to your aid before you ask. Amen.

My timeline:

Application submitted on 9th May, 2022.

Biometric was from previous application and was updated on 11th May, 2022.

Did upfront medicals on 5th May, 2022 that was submitted with my application documents.

Medicals didn’t update until July 15th when I decided to disturb IRCC Nairobi and Abuja in July through emails and webforms.

PPR on 29th August, 2022.

Documents submitted:

The basic IRCC forms from their website,

My SOP, My bank statement, Bank reference letter, Employment Appointment letters, My Bachelors and Masters Degree Certificates, Marriage certificate, Newspaper publication for wife’s change of name, Sworn Affidavit of wife’s name change, Trad and White wedding Pictures, family pictures with parents and siblings, COVID vaccination card, National ID Card, Upfront Medical Sheet, Old and new International Passport Biodata pages, Police Certificates (Nigeria and UK), NYSC Certificate, Passport Photo, WES Assessment, SSCE Certificate, Landed property documents, Car documents, Professional Certifications, Leave letter, Work ID card, Payslips for 6months, CV, Work Promotion letter, Birth certificate, past visa pages and stamps on my passport, wife’s study visa, wife’s study permit, wife’s admission letter, wife’s school ID card, wife’s enrollment letter, wife’s letters of Authorization and Invitation, wife’s passport bio data page, wife’s social insurance number(SIN) document, wife’s full tuition payment receipt.

I wish everyone here God’s favour and good luck and I do hope that this post encourages and gives fresh hope to someone on this journey because with God all things are possible.
Thanks all. Blessings

Thanks to everyone who responded to my enquiry last week. My wife's medical exam was updated to "passed the medical exam" yesterday. I had to email them and submit the e-medical information sheet via webform.

Pyale:
Hello my people,
I need your advice here. I submitted my wife's SOWP on the 16th June, after she completed her upfront medical same day at Qlife in Lagos. We uploaded the e-medical information sheet along with other supporting documents. I logged into her portal yesterday, and noticed that review of eligibility has started, and under review of medical results, it read that they were reviewing the results of her medical exam. This morning, we received a medical request form (IMM1017E).
I immediately called Qlife, and they confirmed that her medical result was transmitted to IRCC on the 21st June. On the form they sent, I notice that the IME number differs from the one on the information sheet that was given to my wife. I have just emailed Qlife to reconcile the differences, and transmit the updated medical result to IRCC.
Has anyone here experienced this, and what would you advise we do next. Should we resubmit the e-medical information sheet to IRCC, assuming it's an oversight on their own part, or wait for Qlife to confirm they have resent the medical result to IRCC before contacting IRCC?
Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Good evening house. I was denied study visa last year. I am planning to reapply soon. There this part in CIC form that asked if I have previously apply to enter or remain in Canada? Should I fill in yes there.
We can't advise you to say YES/NO. You should be able to know which response to give. To help with, if you have previously applied (some years back) to enter or remain in Canada, then your response would be YES, and if you have not, then your response would be NO. Since you said you were denied last year, meaning you have previously applied, you have to indicate YES! Hope this helps?

Hello my people. I'm here again, but now with a good news!
My study permit application (online) was approved yesterday, Jan 3rd. (I promise to give full details ASAP).
However, I have some questions that need your urgent answers.
I was asked to submit my International Passport. At the time of submitting my biometrics at the VFS office in Lagos, my passport was not taken from me. Even when I asked the staff there, they said until it's requested for.
I intend to courier the passport to the VFS office. When I read info on their website, it says they only accept cash in person at the CVAC. I didn't make any payment at the VFS for courier service for passport during my Biometrics apart from the N460 I paid for SMS services.

So does it mean I have to make another payment of N8060 for return courier delivery, and N10830 for secure transmission of passport - or just how much to be precise; and if I have to, does that mean going to Lagos again or can I include the fee in the courier package together with my passport to the CVAC?

Your urgent response would be highly appreciated so I can decide whether or not I have to plan my travel to Lagos today.

Please pardon my ignorance on this and help provide sufficient info on it for me. Thanks.
(Again, please bear with me; I'll provide every info regarding my application once my passport is returned).

Update:
I have been clarified on this issue. No need to make any further payment. Passport and supporting documentations mailed to CVAC in Lagos. Waiting for return of passport.

Hello my people,
I'm currently on my letter of explanation. I graduated in 2014 and have not been working, but undertook some training in web design until I gained admission for my masters in Uniport last year, but actually started March this year. I'm currently on the masters, but applying for study permit for an admission in University of Alberta. Is it Okay to explain to the visa officer that I was already running a similar programme here and back up my reason for impending deferment with cogent points? Do you think this will, in any way, negatively affect my application? Just so the VO will be convinced that I was not just lying fallow after my undergraduate programme. My potential supervisor already knows that i currently run a masters programme here. Please reply. Thanks.

Congrats for your admission, you will have to provide additional form of financial support to show that you are financially OK and able to carter for your study without the Research Assistant grant which maybe seen as a job offer, so you don't get refused based on not able to finance your study without working in Canada excuse.

You can get an approval before your resumption date, it seems there are quite few number of application that is been processed at the moment because the rate of approval/denial right now is fast.

My advice, get your police report, and submit with your application, don't make them ask for it.

Other advice, cross every T's and dot every I's , don't give the VO any reason to doubt your intentions... Good luck, Ire o...
Thanks for your kind response. I will do as instructed. God bless.
