Ok.Thank you very much for your reply.

Prettiepearlz:

Evaluate both, evaluating highest degree only applies for graduates with masters or PhD, because evaluating master or PhD alone is enough. But in the case of OND and HND, Bsc and PGD, Bsc and certificates et all, you need to evaluate both. You need to read through this thread and understand a lot of things about this journey. You may not be lucky enough to get a response to your questions especially if they are questions that has been dealt with. Good luck

Please I'm abit confused.
I have OND and HND from two different schools.
I'm 'bout starting my Canada PR journey.
I have read people's transcripts but I still want to ask. Do I need to get my OND and HND evaluated by WES or just the HND? I read in the trend were someone said you only need to get the higher one evaluated which is the HND. I just want to confirm that.
Secondly I'm yet to register for IELTS test.
I'm based in Portharcourt, I can't find their address here in Portharcourt. Please do you have an idea if they have an office in Portharcourt?
And also is it possible to take the test just once?
Please I could use all the answers pleases.....
Thank you

Spicyme:
Hi Nairalanders,

Please grab a bottle of coke and a cup of popcorn as I am about to tell my story.

I took my time to write this just to encourage someone. Always remember that there is a light at the end of every tunnel.

Decision to travel:
I heard about express entry from my sister that stays in Canada early 2017. She went as a student and after a while, she called all her siblings to advise us to relocate. I was like “I am not a fan of obodo oyibo.” She practically begged me to give it a trial but I refused. Fast forward to some months later, I got a new car. A week after I got the car, we all got a mail in my office about a salary increase. The following day, I overheard my boss telling my colleague that “for Jayne to be driving a car like that, she doesn’t need the money I pay her”. Out of curiosity, I decided to check everyone’s salary after the increment (I had access to such information as I was the third in command in the company). Guess what!! 20k - 30k was added to everybody’s salary and just 5k was added to mine. This means that even the receptionist was earning more than me. I got home and cried myself to sleep and dreamt about Canada. I woke up the next day and called my sister.

WES:
My evaluation made immigration look easy. Everything was so smooth that in less than 2 months, I got my BSC and MSc evaluated.

IELTS:
This one showed me the bitter side of express entry but gave me a testimony at the end.
I took my first IELTS early last year. I scored 8.5, 6.5, 7,7.5 LRWS- BC
I wrote a second time and scored 7.5, 9.0,7,7.5 LRWS - IDP. Then they were using speakers and it wasn't clear. I even complained after the test but nothing was done. Then the 3rd 8.5, 7.5,6.5,7.5 - IDP. I applied for an EOR but it came out negative. Then the 4th 8.5,8.5,6.5,8.0 LRWS - IDP. I applied for an EOR again but it came out negative. Then the 5th, I missed this one because my passport was with an embassy, I wanted to reschedule but BC chop witch with the excuse that the time was short hmmmm. Then the 6th 9,7.5,5.5,7.5 LRWS-BC. I was so embarrassed. How can a freelance writer have a score like this in writing? I never told anyone about my score except my friend who encouraged me. I later realized my mistake; we were asked to write a letter to a colleague, I wrote a semi-formal formal letter instead of an informal letter. I learnt my lesson. Then the 7th, 8.5,8.5,6.5,8.0 - LRWS- IDP. I was pained because I really prepared for the writing. A voice within me kept telling me to remark but I was just giving excuses. One day, something happened that made me cry to the extent of asking myself what was holding me back in this country. I downloaded the EOR form and was completing it with tears in my eyes. I made a mistake and circled reading instead of writing. I tried reprinting the form but my printer stopped working. I decided to circle both reading and writing after which I made the necessary payment and submitted.
On 24th of April, I got an email to come and pick up my TRF. I contacted IDP and requested that they courier it to my address. I later got an email requesting that I pay for the courier service, and also sign and complete the fund refund form. I was confused, I contacted them again and asked how long it was going to take for me to get the result and they said between 5-10 working days. How do they expect me to wait that long? The following day being the 25th of April, I traveled to the state were I took the exam (I actually left before daybreak). When I got the IDP office, I was told that there was a mix-up somewhere and my result was sent to Port Harcourt. Why can't my village people just let me be?
Meanwhile, I had already registered for another test in Kano with IDP. I traveled back to my base to prepare for my journey to Kano the following day. While on my way to Kano on the 26th, I got a call from IDP to come for my result. I told the lady that I can't make it to Abuja that day and I can't wait for their "5-10 working days" to get my result. She said I should send an email to that effect to IDP and copy her so that she can follow it up. She promised to courier the result that day assuring me that I was going to get it the following day. I made the payment - N5450.
Nevertheless, I took the exam in Kano and went back to my base on the 27th hoping to see my new IELTS score, unfortunately, the result was not delivered hmmmm.
Fast forward to Monday, around few minutes to 2:00, I got a call that a package was just delivered from DHL, omo, with the speed of light, I rushed and collected the package and went into my car. I prayed and opened it, the unbelievable scores were just staring at me LRWS- 8.5, 9,7,8. I couldn't control the tears from my eyes, I lifted my hands and praised God. He has given me a testimony, an unbelievable one.
The perfect Easter gift from my father.
I quickly updated my profile and was swimming in the pool with CRS 475 when ITA came knocking in the next draw.

ITA:
I got ITA on the 1st of May, 2019. And the process of gathering the documents started.
Medicals was done in IOM Abuja two weeks after we got the ITA.
PCC: this was done in my state of residence. Hot 30k for me and my spouse.
POF: Na this one be the koko. During the process of writing IELTS, we decided to invest our funds on landed properties. So when ITA came, we tried to sell them but the devil and the economy decided to harden the heart of prospective buyers. Two weeks to the expiration of my ITA, I saw that we were not making any progress with the selling of properties, I pick-up my phone and called my first love – Dad. I explained everything to him and he told me and I quote “I am ready to give up everything I have for you to have a better life.” Before I ended the call, I got a credit alert from my father- 100% gift deed. He drafted a gift deed, got an affidavit for the gift and also sent the data page of his passport. I uploaded all these documents.

AOR:
I got AOR on the 28th of June. I submitted late because of my POF but God did it for us.
We got a request for biometrics and did that on the 31st of July 2019 and then the wait began.
I decided not to let the wait get to me by stressing myself out. I worked on weekdays and learnt hair dressing on weekends. So, I never had the time to check my profile. I never knew my VO until ……………..

ADR:
On the 20th of November I decided to check my spam and noticed that IRCC sent an email requesting that we upload a new passport as the current one was going to expire in 6 months. We were given just 7 days to submit meaning that we had just 5 days. We travelled to about 4 states in search of passport and ended up getting it in Minna, Niger state. We uploaded the passports immediately, two days to the expiration of the ADR phewwwww.

PPR:
I decided to take a course on mind building hmmm. One of the things that was advised was that we should limit our phone usage. Mumu me decided that I was not going to do anything with my phone except to answer calls. On the 27th of November, I couldn’t resist any more so I decided to check my mails. Immediately I opened it, the “Ready the visa mail caught my eyes”
I danced and cried like never before. It has actually ended in praise.
I submitted on the 3rd of December and on the 24th, I got a passport collection text message from VFS Abuja. My God always know the perfect gift for me.
I collected our passports yesterday, 27th of December to the Glory of God.

SUMMARY:
ITA: 1st May, 2019
PPR: 27th November 2019

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: This Was How I Lost A Bank Job Opportunity Yesterday . I Hope It Helps Someone. by Qlibra(f): 7:15am On Dec 27, 2019
Awww .This is so sad to read. Got me even teary.
I have been through this before. It's really not easy. Unemployment got me so frustrated that I almost fell into depression.
I have given up on anything job search..So I don't even bother applying after the last one broke me into pieces (FRSC).I passed the exam and did screening and everything.Made it to the final stage and when it was time for camp, I got no invitation letter from them,I cried for a week cos that was a dream job for me but at the end I shook it off and prayed for better days..I hope things are better with you now. Don't worry, just keep pushing.. It gets better. Happy holiday.

AGManuel:
I write this with tears in my eyes but I won't cry because a man is not supposed to.

If really I was such a bad person , I hope to change and live a better life. But to deserve unemployment because of a past situation I found myself in which I couldn't help, I think it's too much for me to bear, but what do I know? maybe I deserve to be unemployed.

But if I tell you I'm not depressed, I'm lieing .

Last year I got a marketing Job with a bank few months after my NYSC when things were extremely hard . Even transport money to go for the training was hard. On the first day of training, on my way home, I lost my phone which was the only thing of value I had then. Safe to say I began the Job phoneless , cashless and frustrated .

Even money to buy bank wears and appear smart or serious was a case . No transport for work, no phone for my work and marketing, no clothes to wear, I'll leave out feeding coz I could control that with starvation or one square meal. My mom was only able to raise small cash for me which most times didn't last a week, transport to and fro was 400 naira, a plate of food was 300, before I get transport for marketing , airtime and transport to call and bringing customers to open accounts and running around on the job which was money intensive, anybody who worked a as marketer before can relate...all these with a huge target of 30 accounts to open and a target of 3 million to bring to the bank.. At least I'm expected to spend 1k a day on the Job which I have not been paid. Remember it was my first month and most banks don't pay in the first month, it's in the second month they combine your salary and pay. Pay was 35k. I was just frustrated.

All these struggles manifested in my performance coz I couldn't deliver and my first two months was a mess coz some days I just couldn't go to work. Sometimes I came to work late coz I had to look for transport money in the morning. Being able to come to work and survive was my main concern then, I fell sick many times out of starvation and it affected my Job. On one occasion or two the Branch manager assisted with stipends when I complained to her about my struggles. Most times the stipends only lasted a day or two but It was a life saver for me coz there was no other option, at least I was able to come to work and eat the next day. Fellow colleagues couldn't help, nobody could, I dropped shame one day in the board meeting and asked for help for we the new staff and how hard it is for us to keep up with the Job. I got nothing.

Not too long after, I resigned to pursue something else . I traveled.

Only for me to come back after 8 months for another bank Job interview and when my former Branch manager was called as a referral, the one I complained to about my struggles and reasons for my underperformance , the same one who assisted me sometimes and this was her reply "He's unserious, indiscipline and unfit for the Job. I was not supposed to hear that but the interviewer put it on loud by mistake and I heard that part before she quickly put the phone off. Immediately I knew I wasn't gonna get the Job.

It hurts me so much, dad is no more, mom a widow, siblings in school calling me day and night for money being the first son and bread winner. If I'm unserious and irresponsible, I can change & become better. No matter the circumstances I faced, I can't make excuses for that. But if I was such a terrible person to deserve unemployment . I let God be the Judge. The interview happened yesterday.

I'm back to the unemployment table guys. My advice to every young hustler out there is to do their best on any job they find themselves no matter the circumstances. But my prayer is for our pasts not to deny us our future bread. We go make am last last.

SEASON GREETINGS EVERYONE

For all y'all claiming asylum on homosexuality grounds i think your time is up. The society frowns at homosexuality doesn't mean homosexuals aren't tolerated in Nigeria. You are claiming to be a lesbian. Have you heard of Bobrisky the popular homosexual, transverstile and cross dresser. He walks around freely with no one harassing him(I even saw him once at a shopping mall with some of his fans). Do you feel Canadian Immigration doesn't know about Bobrisky and other homosexuals?

If you want to migrate to Canada, do the right thing. Pay for IELTS(International English Language Testing System) it cost about 75k which is less than the cost of an approved US visa(40700 + 56000). I have read your write up ,your english ain't bad if you can write that way.

My observation is that for every wrong approach of doing things ,there are twice legitimate ways of achieving same result. We Nigerians should learn how to do things rightly because our reputation outside is bad

Ludicrous. Canada has the most open and receptive immigration processes and in the usual Nigerian way you want to circumvent the process. People that have immigrated through Express entry and PNP don’t have two heads. Channel your energy and scheming towards the right things. You will most likely be denied a US Visa. [/quote]

Wow..This is quite something.Thank you for sharing.
I want to apply for Canada PR.
I have OND and HND from two different schools.
Everything about Express entry is expensive especially when you are not earning much or when your salary is less then 50k monthly but I really want to try my luck.
My initial plans was to seek Asylum as a lesbian but reading your post, it just discouraged me to go through the right means.
I just want to try my luck and see if it's going to work.

Jengbetiele:
I seem not to understand why people need to subject themselves and family to such an emotional drenching journey called assylum seeking when you could as well have written and pass your ielts, do your eca and land as a permanent resident within a year.

Being a former international student, I feel this express entry route is even faster and better than having to school if you have the right profile. But it's a shame our people always want the easy way out. I know Nigerian asylum seekers here that get free clothings, free food stuffs, all to start selling and sending some for sale back to Nigeria by hook and crook where they are supposedly persecuted.

I have meet people who have been on this case for over 7 years, living in fears, and still without a status in canada. When I meet some of them they without reservations always say that they would never advise anyone to seek asylum in Canada for any reason because of their experience.

Unfortunately when you tell our brothers and sisters the truth about this refugee seeking of a thing, and you advise them to do things the right way because of the uncertainties and more importantly because should your claims be refused, you will make things difficult for your siblings, and children should they decide to travel in the future. But when you tell them the truth, they always feel you do not want them to be successful.

Even if you get lucky like a very few ,and you get approved, the battle is not still over. I have read about cases of asylum claimants who were later granted PR who travelled to their country of origin and had their PR status revoked and they got deported. I heard Nigerian asylum seekers who had business in Nigeria, usually enter Nigeria via Ghana or Cameroon.

Recently, I heard Canadian government already knows about that too. A friend who lives in Canada recently told me that last week in her Nigerian church, a note of warning was sounded to nigerian ex-refugees who are already citizens in Canada to avoid travelling to Nigeria for now as government may be doing some reviews and assessments of past cases. It's not just worth the stress.

There are many legal ways to migrate to canada and live as a PR. There are several programs for people with low ielts score . All you need to do is find information and do things right.

I'm not entirely going for just visit.
The plan is to seek Asylum as lesbian in (Canada)..Sorry if this sound awkward..
I told my uncle my plan though, asked if I can get an invite from Him and if I could stay at His place for some couple of weeks before I proceed to Border to seek for it. That's the plan all along...
I'm sponsoring my trip but ofcourse I can't tell them that. The plan is to talk to my uncle and make it look like He's the one sponsoring everything..I don't know if anyone has used the method before but it seems it's the only option I have.I wish there was an alternative.
Telling them I just want to visit isn't convincing enough I know, plus the fact that i don't have any travel history and I'm single too...I'm just confused though..But I really wanna leave..

Permission to speak freely

I am Pro DIY and No Agent.
Don't misrepresent yourself to look good and impress the VO.

An invite from your Uncle isn't a strong arsenal.
The reason for requesting a visa (going for an uncle birthday and hanging out for 60 days) is not going to sway a VO.

BUT THE ABOVE 2 POINTS CANT STAND ALONE OR OUTSIDE YOUR PROFILE.

What State is your Uncle in USA?
60 days is a long time to be visiting someone.
Don't you work or need to be in school?
Are you married or single?
Children and their ages?
Previous travel history in the past 4/5 years
Do you earn enough or have a source of income to pay for your trip?
Being away for 60 days won't jeopardize your business/job/education?
How Uncle is your Uncle to you? Are the families between your Uncle and you are in USA or Lagos?

Step 1
Go to ceac.state.gov and fill the NON IMMIGRANT form.
Don't submit immediately. Hold on until totally sure of the details.

Step 2
Pay Visa Fees after step 1 is firmed up.

Step 3
Go to ustraveldoc to create a profile and book appointment.
You will needs DS160 code from Step 1 and Visa Fees Number from Step 2

I'd advise you should do a first dry run on Step 1. Fill it as a trial and PM me.

B1/B2 Visa are issued together. B1 is Business while B2 is Tourism or Medical. Make sure you understand the difference and select B2

A friend in Italy suggested I apply if I can but I don't know how to go about it.

Good evening..Please can I ask you some few questions? i want to apply for visitors visa but i don't know how to go about it.. I need some guildlines please...

mrprolifik:

It's similar to my case . The passport photo I uploaded was rejected online so on the day of my appointment I took 4 copies of passport photograph to the embassy and they collected 2 from me. So you don't have to worry about anything. At the end I was still granted visa

I was told aside my uncle sending me letter of invitation, if i am not convincing i might be denied of the visa..
