@op what is your motive behind creating this thread, why are you so obsessed with ikwerres being Igbo or not. To the best of my knowledge I know you are no from ss nor se so what are you trying so hard to prove?

If the ikwerres say they are not Igbo then they are not; anyone of them that chooses to be recognised as Igbo will be. All I know is that hope@hand does not speak for all the ikwerres shikena!!!! And I also know that asaba is Igbo can't say for ph though.

Thank You for the fine response. Shows you know whatchu talking about. However, I would like to shed more lights on this trend.... Now, in traditional Arabian culture which Fulani's are much in congruence with, it has always been the norm for cousins to marry. Its not like it's an Islamic thing per say , it is that Islam didn't in anyway go against it just like Islam doesn't go against a Yoruba man putting on his native attire in prayers . So, I'll like us to look at this as an Arabic/Fulani/Hausa tradition that Islam permits. Au revoir!
Ok

Are you stating this as a fact or saying this from your experience?
Honey it is a fact. It happens a lot down here. Right from when I was a child I have always known that Muslims marry their cousins especially the hausas. When I was a teenager, the our Hausa neighbour was married to her cousin, even her in katsina where I am presently, our production manager who is a hausa-fulani is married to her first cousin. This is just but a few out of thousands that I know. Infact they marry mostly their siblings. Just three weeks ago, we had the discussion;; from their mouth they said it is permitted in Islam as long as both of you didn't suckel the same breast. The only person they can't marry is their step sibling or someone who suckle the same breast with you.

Don't mind people supporting this evil act. That's why Igbos can never b deceived to trust those guys fully.
I tell you it is so irritating and annoying. This people will always bully you at every chance they get simply BC you don't share the same faith and believe with them. That is why I just laugh at people here when they say igbos do their business peacefully in the north especially that hope@hand guy. Its just that an average Igbo man is sturbon couple with the fact that relocation is not that easy especially for someone who isn't bouyant enough and have a family. Honestly it takes morethan courage to live among these people.

Just negodu!!! The kind of statements people assumed to be educated are making. So if I say you shouldn't pray in front of my shop it automatically transform to blasphemy and I should be killed for it.

I just smh when people write here that igbos hate hausas forgetting that it is this kind of statements and acts that leads to the hatred. They are the originators of the hatred. Imagine a situation where one have to close his shop in the middle of the day for almost an hour because one Muslim want to talk to his god. Whatever happened to praying inside the mosque.

God help us in this one Nigeria.

In the bible for instance Cane and Abel married their siblings if am right.

If you are an Igbo and its a taboo you don't have to shout so loud here for that matter as cultures and manners of African tribes differs and does not mean one is inferior to the other.

Lol

See them killing you inside for your wish of marrying your 10th cousin, btw cousin is cousin be it the first or the 100th

Why do you despise that act so passionatehuh

Israelis does marry their cousins, Muslims does,Christians does so where did you get your abhorrence of the act from if I may askhuh
Christians marry their cousins? Didn't know about that. To your question I don't know where the abhorance was gotten from I only grew up to know its a taboo particularly in Igbo tradition, reason being that both of you still share the same blood. If it wasn't a taboo, I will have love to marry my 10th cousin. 10th cousin oo!!! You see the distance but my mum still shouted abomination when I mentioned it.

In Islam, it is not right. Stop quoting what you don't know.
Hehehehehe!!!! Ever heard of the word 'Auren zumunchi'? Except your own Islam is different from that of the hausas then I will agree with you. But hear in the north, it is commonly practiced and they say its permitted in Islam as long as both of you are not born of the same parents. Your child can marry your sister's child. Before you say I don't know what am saying, I was born and raised in the north Kaduna to be precise I grew up in their midst and am still living and working in their midst in fact I am typing this from my office in katsina. So you see honey I know very much what am saying and with all confidence. kapish!!!!

I would never abuse someone loved one. The Bolded is ur own level of love for the person you claim to love and ur own desired perception of what the punishment should be. MORAL DEMANDS not to abuse people who have done no harm to us. NOW THE QUESTION: What ever reason do you have abuse or blaspheme someones loved one or diety?
@your question, the news said there was a religious argument. Note: what you termed blasphemous may not be blasphemy to someone else. The woman in question may not even know that she committed a blasphemy if not, I don't think she would be foolish enough to say such in the midst of Muslims especially the Hausa's. In such case what you are suppose to do is to correct her or show your anger in what ever way you choose but definitely not killing her. Nothing justifies the taking of life which you can't create especially something as silly as abusing a loved one. Haba!!!

Look I can feel what that woman went through and am telling you with all certainty that if she knew that what she said would be termed blasphemy she wouldn't have said it. I was born and raised in the north, am currently still in the north and I speak Hausa like its my second dialect;; I know hausas like the back of my palms, any thing that goes contrary to Mohammed believe and way of life is termed blasphemy.

pls dont mix it up. They didn't kill her because she is igbo but because she was stupid enough to abuse someones loved one.
So if you abuse someone loved one, you should be killed Abi? Why can't you abuse her loved one back or better still beat her instead of killing her. You people are just so barbaric. Killing g for a supposed god.

I ain't dull people. Here's the formular:
*Add all the numbers, get ur answer
*Add the two numbers that isn't the lowest and isn't also the highest.
Next is subtract the 2nd answer from the 1st answer. That's ur final answer
E. G
2+4+7+8=21
4+7=11
21-11=10
Final answer=10

I think you are correct because I was wondering what will happen to the other numbers if one adds the highest and the lowest to get the final answer. This your formulae is the best way to solve it.

Mr president should just implement the confab report so that we can all have peace. Am tired of all these wallahi.

The president publicly condemning the confab report is another huge blunder on his part. I wonder why that man talks without thinking. He is heating up the country with his careless statement and leading innocent soldiers to their death. Imagine the rate different militant groups are springing up everyday all thanks to bubu. That man really lack diplomacy and shouldn't be a president in this 21 century haba!!!

This is injustice;; FG should let them control their resources, habba!!! My heart is really aching looking at the picture.
