Please doctor, I have been having hbp since I put to bed two months ago. I have had two courses of different drugs for one week each which brings down the bp for it to rise immediately the dose is finished.

Please doctor, I was given these ones yesterday: aldomet,vasoprin and amlotrust 10. After I took all three in the night, I woke up this morning to a racing heart and a severe headache which is yet to go.completely.

Am frightened, I never had any bp issues when I was pregnant and this only started after delivery. The racing heart is what I don't understand. Should I continue with the drugs or not.

Please help, doctor!!!

Have been a silent readers since beginning of August pending when I will get my edd to join a team. I went to miatama general hospital on Friday 1st of September for d first time since I missed my period and was told I was 2months,3days pregnant and dat my baby is doing good.

I was excited like never before but it was short lived as 2hrs after I left d hospital I started feeling serious cramps, thought it was because I ate pounded yam n pepper soup for lunch so I decided to sleep d pains off only for me to wake up with excruciating pains 1hr later with heavy bleeding.

It was as if I was dieing, couldn't stand, talk, sit, eat or lay down it was as if my tummy was been removed by force. I decided to take hot milk maybe it will help reduce the pain. 5minutes later blood clot started coming out and I knew my baby was going, I cried, prayed n begged my baby to stay but he didn't

I went to d hospital the next day 2nd September and was told there is no baby in my womb again. I was in total shock cos didn't know what happened within 2hrs of leaving the hospital to d bleeding?
I am still asking myself if it was d food I ate or d warm milk I took dat took my baby away? Or the scan dat was done or Wht could have happened?

Please my dear don't blame your self. What is yours is yours and what will stay will stay for you.

Happy New month mamas, went for my repeat scan yesterday and my uterus/womb is empty. Doctor said I lost the pregnancy as everything has cleared. No more gestational sac and no retained products of conception. That my body has expelled the foetus during my bleeding last month. I didn't bleed heavily at all and can't recall passing any clot/tissue, though it lasted for 4 days and it's only when I wiped that I saw red blood.
I ttced for 2 years before my miracle baby came and now my baby has gone to be with the Lord. I would have been 13 weeks tomorrow. But in all things I give God thanks. He that did it before will do it again. Wishing all mamas safe delivery.

Good morning everyone. Chai! I have missed nairaland. My baby came with crying anointing to the point that Momcy called a pastor to pray for her because the cry odikwa plenty much . Bikonu my people, my baby does this groaning and grunting thing like someone that wants to pass out hard shit (sorry ). She does it all the time and it scares all of us. As she is doing it, she maybe releasing series of atomic farts. This groaning thing does not allow her sleep well at night. She only gets some relief when i lay her on my chest but then that means no sleep for her. Everyone that we have told about it says it's her tummy and that it will resolve with time but in the meantime, what can I do to relieve her? I feel the grunting and groaning means she is in pain. Are there agbo/home remedies that can help? I regularly give her gripe water but I don't feel its doing anything for her. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

It is likely gas. Put her on her back on the bed and holding her two legs, do the bicycle movement I.e. as if she is pedalling.

Also hold her legs by the ankle and push/ bend the knee into her stomach. All these may induce farting and remove the gas that is giving the discomfort.

You can also bend her over your knees and pat her back.
All these help more than gripe water which in my opinion is just a placebo and does absolutely nothing for babies.

I took it a step further and will carry the baby and tickle her nose with a cotton bud and wait for the sneeze. The mucus that will come out ehhhhh. No be small thing and me nko, I find it very satisfying

You see these baby pinunders that have envelope necks, they are made that way for a reason.

When poonanis happen , you know those type of poo that will escape from even size seven nappy, you don't remove the vest from down to up thereby spreading the mess to even the hair.

Instead, you expand that envelope corner and pull down thereby containing the mess.

Anyone with useful tips should please submit. All for making mum's lives easier

Modified: I want to add something. You wait until the sneeze hits halfway before closing one nostril. If you block it before it reach ground, the sneeze will just disappear. There is a knack to it

My sister, one was very good and prompted me to recommend to friends.

The second one was a nightmare, still gives me flashbacks and I believe it contributed to the bp issues that am still battling with.

The difference was the nurses that handled me both times. First set was good, second was a demon cos a witch is a compliment to her.

P.S. saw the said nurse during my six weeks appointment. I glanced her way and saw her looking at me with recognition. I just looked away. Its between her and God.

It would be wrong for me to tell you to stop the meds just like that. The first thing you need to do is worry less, that would help your sleep. Then you need to check your bp, as that's the major factor that determines if you'd stop the meds or get them changed.
The nitrazepam gets secreted in your breast milk, so ur inadvertently giving your baby the sedative, hence his/her drowsy state. You shouldnt use it if you're breastfeeding.

For me what I did is to stop taking the nifedipine because I was not understanding why I shld go through all that headache in the name of bringing my blood pressure down, my husband went into deep research and found out that I can take lebatelol and lisinopril (my bp was very very high)....so right now my bp has dropped from 162/113 to 132/96, 130/90... lebatelol was prescribed to me from the general hospital here so I only added lisinopril...plz stop taking the nifedipine..

That is a fantastic result. I dread taking that med. It is terrible. Do you still take any sleeping meds?

If yes then my doctors stopped me from taking diazepam as soon as I gave birth, I also had to stop taking nifedipine because of the serious headache it give me...if you are taking there drugs because of high bp then we can share ideas because I already have something that is working for me..

Yes oo. Please help me. The headaches are excruciating. I feel like my head is falling away. Please please am waiting. I don't have help and I need to function for my kids. Thank you

I hope you didnt take those drugs all together. That's a noo noo. What you have is pregnancy induced hypertension.
What I do for my patients with similar condition is to bring down the bp to an optimal level and then taper the dose overtime till I wean her off the drugs. The body needs to be taught to function properly without the drugs, hence if you suddenly stop your meds, you would experience rebound hypertension. Just like you did.

I was to take all together but the headaches were too much and my baby was drowsy for the whole following 24 hours that I became afraid
I stopped the sleeping one after two days but am still taking the other two. I find it very difficult to sleep now and feel unwell in the day so I feel the bp is still high.
Please can you advise me on this. I still have the hiclodopa and normodipin to exhaust. Should I stop taking them? Please help me cos am confused. Thank you

The leave might be very hard to request. I've exhausted my leave for the year already, and requesting one month without pay in the new dept which I'm resuming next month (next week) doesn't leave a good impression, as I am just starting. They don't know I'm pregnant in the new dept except I tell the ogas them.

I'm hopeful sickness would end soon..like tomorrow lol.

I don born three, three or four times I threw up in the whole three pregnancies was when I drank water after eating indomie. I rarely spat. The boy belle na im I suffered nausea for the first month. The two girls?? Nada.

For hunger side, e dey sama me for the ninth month sotay I wake up shaking from hunger in the middle of the night and need to eat immediately

This medication is doing me some how some how. Please mamas has anyone taken this drug while breastfeeding . What about normodipin? That one gives me a migraine like headache that I still need painkillers for.
