Islam for Muslims / Re: Who Is Allah? by Queenisha: 4:17pm On Sep 17, 2008 |
Gamine: an excerpt from the book. Who Is This Allah?, G. J. O. Moshay, 1994, p 138 "Historians like Vaqqidi have said Allah was actually the chief of the 360 gods [one for each day of the year] being worshipped in Arabia at the time Muhammad rose to prominence. Ibn Al-Kalbi gave 27 names of pre-Islamic deities, Interestingly, not many Muslims want to accept that Allah was already being worshipped at the Ka'ba in Mecca by Arab pagans before Muhammad came. Some Muslims become angry when they are confronted with this fact. But history is not on their side. Pre-Islamic literature has proved this." (Who Is This Allah?, G. J. O. Culture / Re: Angry Woman Bites Off Lover’s Genitals by Queenisha: 4:04pm On Sep 17, 2008 |
Daily Sun gathered that the woman, identified as Josephine, had travelled to seek medical care for an undisclosed ailment and returned three weeks ago to find that Sunday had brought another woman, named Anita, into the one-room apartment on 60, James Igbe Road, Ajegunle. well from the article the man really does have a nerve. His common law wife is sick she travels for treatment and he brings home a mistress, not only that he keeps her in the house 3 weeks after his woman returns. Josephine minds her own business for 3 whole weeks and the stupid man adds verbal insults on top of everything. na im vex come catch the woman, she come charge come sharpen her teeth well well and put them to use let's see what he'll use to attract another person. |

Then when the frozen chicken factories opened up,she became a wholesale buyer, supplying to little bukas and friends and my brothers were the delivery people. One of my siblings even started his own chicken delivery business to compete with mom lol. Mom even once reared pigs with her friend but thankfully they were stationed at her friends house. She sold bedsheet and pillowslips she sold pepper. She told us she even sold salt with her mom during the Biafran war |

What is it about Igbos and buying and selling? The strange thing is that out of all my siblings,I'm the only one that has no "trading gene". I couldn't sell anything. My brothers and sisters all sold things right from boarding school and by college, the boys were richer than their peers They were barbers, photographers, selling anything from shirts to shoes to transporting livestock in pick up vans for slaughter on weekends and during the long strikes. I had absolutely no interest in it. Maybe I was switched at birth. Both of my parents had regular jobs and are college educated but always bought and sold everything from bags of cement to bags of Beans share your own experience. 1 Like |
