mikoloson: Actually, problem is this can and does happen anywhere. It's disgusting ![]() US that they can randomly kill just because of race or religion! Or go to a school and murder children! The idea is not to generalize and speak in absolute terms. There is too much pure evil in the world, but there is also a lot of good! So lets also try to shine light on good! RIP to the lady! 2 Likes |

airbrush: It's ok. Nairaland is just a place for many to unload... I understand. Once in a while though, if you try, you might learn something. |

beresponsible: Exactly... no mind them. How won't you be fresh if you're living in Aso Rock, flying private Jumbo Jet. As long as you're working... its ok. 2 Likes |

The trans-loading thing is true though. I shipped in a Mercedes from Canada and the shipper advised me to put "in transit to Nigeria via Niger" on the container. I told him no, it's going to Nigeria. Tin-Can to be exact. Like other cars I've shipped before. He said no, this is how I'd save money. I told him to please ship to Tin-Can. Not even realizing I was saving myself customs wahala. My business partner shipped his almost brand new camry through Niger. The bumper was missing by the time it got to Abuja. They "race" the cars through the bush avoiding customs. We had to be buying shock absorbers, lower arm etc for an almost brand new car. Plus he can't travel with the car now because of customs. Not that I was smarter than him, I was just lucky. 12 Likes |

It's all relative. The issue is not the debt, the issue is that the money borrowed should be used for what is was borrowed for. It's like, there's nothing wrong with taking a bank loan (mortgage) to buy a house, but if you then spend it on vacation and cars... that's a problem. So accountability and fiscal responsibility is the issue. If look HERE you'll see our debt profile is not that bad. You'll need to scroll down.. ![]() 2 Likes |

Too much negativity in Nigeria. All countries have challenges. Even the beloved US and UK right now. But the population is patriotic and willing to make things better. If you the people don't think anything good can come of the country, only then is it truely doomed. You complain of corruption. You complain of the institution to fight corruption. If you don't like the way they're doing it, join efcc and fix it. 1 Like 1 Share |

johndan103: That's because it's the truth. It's your life. Be respectful but FIRM with your mom. Your wife DOESN'T need to have a relationship with her. It's your mom's choice if she wants to be in YOUR future, to hopefully see grandkids. And NEVER discuss your relationship with people you know. Good or bad! 2 Likes |

Ok. So not for legitimately owned lands. Like those old colonial homes in Ikoyi. They'll have to renew for you after you pay due fees? The lands are worth a lot now and just want to know no one can play chwa chwa BabaOwen: |

Well... thats a terrifying thought! But this is if it's in the public's interest right? Like in the way of rail or powerlines. They can't be greedy in Alausa and "chance" you of your land? Can they? BabaOwen: |

Hello all, please I have a question. Lagos State Federal C of O's have a leases term before expiry. Usually 99 years I believe. Some of these lease terms are coming due in a few years now. Does anyone know what happens when the lease is over? I know you have an option to renew. Does anyone have an idea of the rate, say per square meters, eg in Old Ikoyi? Can government decide not to renew and re-take the land? I'll appreciate some insight please. Thanks in advance! 2 Likes |

Kai, mathematics is so sexy ![]() Anyway, that's good advice. I think the main thing with these investments is to know there is no one best answer. You have to build your portfolio based on your needs and risk you're willing to take. On average, is it safe to assume EuroBonds are 8% p/a on average? RealityShot: 1 Like |

Ok. Please let me ask a question because I like to be 100% sure when it comes to money. If I was investing in T-Bills say at 15% N37M (approx $100,000 for arguement sake), I'll be getting effectively the same returns but in dollars if I took $100,000 to the eurobond market and did the example you gave? ernie4life: 1 Like |

Just got in from Ilorin yesterday. There is a palatable sense of political tension in the air. There is also a very audible growing voice of discontent with Saraki. Enough to remove him? Not sure. But it's there and growing. 1 Like |

Hello all, I've been following this thread passionately and would like to thank all the gurus that have helped so many of us. I have a question, is there a maximum that can be invested in T-Bills? I don't mean unreal amounts, but if one had access to say N2B, can you lodge that for a 364 day term lets say? Either on primary or secondary market? |

Enyinne: At 15%, compounded investments almost double every 5 years, depending on fees and taxes. https://www.thecalculatorsite.com/finance/calculators/compoundinterestcalculator.php |
