They thought protesters would get discouraged by their silence and disperse, but the numbers and locations have been increasing.

They thought we'd run out of cash, but we raised over ₦26million in less than 1 week. They shut down the Flutterwave link and we raised over ₦1million worth of bitcoins in an hour.

They thought we'd get exhausted or fall sick, but we raised a team of medical personnel and even got ambulances for emergency.

They thought that arresting us would make us cower, but we mobilised a team of over 600 lawyers across the country to provide free legal services.

They thought that hunger would send us home, but protesters are literally having buffet services back to back. Small chops, rice, pasta, ẹwà agoyín, pizza, asun and drinks.

They thought that using water canons, throwing tear gas and shooting at us would make us become violent, but we remained calm. They also thought that sending thugs to attack us would make us lose our cool, but we beat up the thugs, fed them, sent some to the hospital, arrested and handed the rest over to the police.

They thought that destroying our cars and phones would make us retreat, but people are getting their cars and phones fixed at little or no cost.

They thought that subtle threats of distorting the internet would shake us, but we immediately made plans for VPNs.

They thought that the rain would scatter us, but we immediately ordered raincoats and umbrellas.

They thought that the football weekend would be a major distraction, but we created a stadium at Lekki toll gate and will be bringing football live to the protesters.

Is there anything impossible for us to do?

At this point, it's a #WeDieHere situation and the government is left with no choice but to address our concerns.

Wow thanks, your write up was superb!!
FamilyRe: 4 Things You Should Learn To Avoid About Women, If You Want To Live Long by QuinModah(f): 1:20pm On Oct 07, 2020
1. Sexual Desire: Men is supposed to learn how to control their sexual desire, as a famous proverb says following your mind is ok, following the heart is fine as well but following penis will result in disaster(not all of us have girlfriend)

2. Learning to define success: Find a pattern to define your success. You'll find dozens of inside voices telling you to do certain things, but you've to learn to define your path to success, then walk with your own path, Don't live other's life(be jobless and degrees).

3. Learning to treat woman: Every man has to deal with girls in any form, so you have to learn how to treat them right. Girls are not goals or options to achieve, they're humans with feelings and emotions. Being a man, you have to learn how to treat them with care and respect (to be friendzoned and brozoned). Try to be a man girls want to be with(like Bleep boys and rich ?? )

4. Staying calm: As men is supposed to do lot of chores both in personal and professional life, They’ll need to deal with all type of challenges so you'll have to find a way to make yourself calm and relaxed whenever you’re needed(even when the girl is pmsing or humiliating) Some people start meditating, some turn to mindfulness, but in the current era it's hard to devote that time to such activities so find a quick fix to stay calm. I use to play this game whenever I find a need to get rid of stress or need to be more focused. It's scientifically proven and it worked for me.

5. Being supportive: Try to help strangers, be extrovert in opening up a conversations with strangers. Try to spread peace and happiness around but get ready for a fight as well. Not everyone in your circle is your friend. There will be enemies in your friend list so be aware of them. Love yourself and your loved ones especially your parents and siblings.( % true )

Bonus

6. Time: You need to learn to respect and take advantage of time. Actually, I believe time is everything, in addition it's been proven by millions of people in history. One millisecond can decide the new world champion. Your personality at 15 isn't same as 20, or a rescue team can't save a life if they're late even for one second. Similarly, they can save a life if reached one second earlier. Happiness, sadness, stress, anxiety, content, sense of satisfaction are all influenced by time. Always give your time to deserving people or where you expect a positive output for yourself or others.

Hope you found at least one of lesson useful.

Stay Blessed

Try to Spread happiness.

Other countries where is is legalised are there stories that touch.
30naira:
On the contrary. When it is legalised, it would be better regulated to avoid these issues

Hmmmm.........
tobechi74:
I see your point. It is a lifestyle.

Marriage is an individual choice and not a collective one. The government has no business regulating how I use my genital.  It is mine and mine alone.  I decide who I choose to get married to . I can decide to share it with a single person or a married person.  It is  my freedom to choose to be a celibate or be married.   While married, I decide with my partner whether to make it open relationship or monogamy.

Marriage is not for everyone. There are people who are happier single. I mean those who are do introverted that they cannot tolerate a very long time without feeling drained. There are people who prefer long distance relationship with few visits and frequent absence rather than continued presence.  those whose high attention sexual urge cannot be satisfied by any one individual. There are others who dislike the boredom of sticking to one  partner scares the hell out of them. Variety is the spice of life. The fun of experimenting with various sizes and  types thrills them. There are yet another group whose need for independence and freedom makes them dislike the idea of  consulting with another before making decision.  There is another group that  love to be in motion. They wake up one morning and decide to relocate to another state only to explore another culture the next year. Traveling is their hobby and getting married with kids hinders that . Settling down is like a death trap. Flowing water is cleaner. Stagnant water attracts mosquitoes and other microorganism.

Human needs are various. the concept of getting married does not fit into their ideal future. They are better off single or in an open relationship. imposing  monogamy marriage on them will choke them. Their partner and children would suffer . Cheating is bound to occur. The fact that cheating still exist means we should question the effectiveness of monogamy and possibility of open marriage.

Investment experts would advice you never to put all your eggs in one basket to mitigate against risk. Economic  expert suggest diversification and not depending on only crude oil. Why don’t we  Apply  the same analogy to our own emotional life.   Risk is mitigated when we stop expecting one person to be our confident, sexual satisfier ,friend, mother of children etc. Can we consider open marriage and celibacy as alternative to monogamy

Hi! I got yur dm
kayrukky:
@op,you are right about what you did. But it would have been better if it can be addressed with the school authority.
Similar things used happen in my children school, it was causing unnecessary competitions among the parents, the school authority have to limit the gifts to be shared in the school to cake and drinks to return to normalcy.
It is not about poverty.

PS: FYI, I pay about 500k per term per child, it is not all about money as so many people are attributing the man’s behavior to poverty.

MrTAnonymous:
Firstly, in no way did I say that prostitution should be legalized because of its age. I only emphasized that it ain't a new profession, it has always been in existence.

Moral system you say? I laugh. grin

Are you telling me that Nigeria has a good and formidable moral system? The truth is that we shouldn't always use our emotions and moral justifications to make decisions all the time, we need to be logical and stay on the objective side of issues no matter what.

That has always been the difference between the developed countries and the underdeveloped, they don't make decisions based on their emotion or moral justifications rather they work on the more reasonable way out of a problem.

On which model to use and the agencies that are going to be involved.

We can create a model which works for us. We don't need to copy any country's system.

The government can create tippelzone and prostitution legal zones with prostitutes having ID cards this way it will be easier to curb the excesses.

The Government just like the other parts of the world that has already legalized prostitution will sit down and have talks on how to regulate and create
models and agencies to enforce it. Since tax will be involved, funding the agencies won't be a problem.

And just like marijuana was legalized in Canada, people convicted of prostitution related crime will be free to continue working in the industry.

There is nothing to worry about as long as the government creates a tippelzone and create ID cards for the workers and the excesses are curbed.

And on safety and human rights of the sex workers, laws are going to be made for the safety of sex workers and non sex workers. Human rights issues has always been a problem since time immenorial, it can always be curbed.

Thanks for your points.

Incase you don't know na me talk
RomanceRe: Should Prostitution Be Legalized In Nigeria? (My Opinion) by QuinModah(f): 3:14pm On Oct 05, 2020
This is actually more a position statement than a question.

Here are several responses:

-Hunting,fishing and agriculture are all older professions than prostitution.
-What does the age of a business have to do with its legality?
-Why would countries whose moral systems are different from those in the West, legalize prostitution?
-Which model would be used as the template for legalized prostitution? The Asian models? The European models? The NorthAmerican Canadian model? The US state of Nevada model?
-Which types of prostitution will be legalized? Street walking? Escort services? Massage parlors? Brothels? All of them?
-Which agencies will enforce this newly legalized trade? Where will the funding for these agencies come from?
-Would people who have been convicted of prostitution-related offenses in the past be allowed to work in the trade now? What would occur if they did so without receiving licensing? How about people convicted of other offenses?
-Where is the proof that legalizing prostitution will not cause additional problems?
-How can the safety and human rights of sex workers exactly be "assured" when the rights of non-sex workers are often not done so?
-How would the problem of child prostitution be handled?

These question would need to be answered and answered to the satisfaction of the -authorities legalize prostitution before any movement could ever gain traction.

Simply stating that it "should" be legalized isn't going to get things done.
