TravelRe: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by Raahym(m): 7:49pm On Dec 04, 2014
Good Day VO,

I am a Nigerian Resident in South Africa. Before now i had been employed in a couple of companies in Nigeria with the most influential one in my life been an employment with the well known Entertainment Highway Limited (HiTV) as an IT Administrator until 2009 when i got an offer from an old employer who had established a company in South Africa and wanted me to join with my level of experience. This i took and moved to South Africa in 2009 without my girl child and wife because i needed to settle in first.

The company secured my work permit after i arrived in South Africa and after having saved much i decided to immigrate my wife and daughter which became positive. After my family had joined me we then started travelling, went to Malaysia in 2013 and then to the UK as well and then in 2013 applied for a US visa for the 2013 december holiday but to my dismay were refused and reason as hinted by the VO that interviewed me "he doubts me as i have not mentioned to have been refused visa in 2002" this was actually an honest mistake as time and event had taken over my memory and then later applied again with my family in early 2014 to celebrate our wedding anniversary and again refused.
This has left me confused because i have an even coming up in Las vegas in 2015 and planned to apply early 2015 but am scared as i do not know what has been written against my name and afraid might be refused again as am applying alone now.

Please advice. I appreciate you.

God Bless

Yes you have to, the same process and your application will be scrutinised just like the first time you applied. Remember to submit an updated bank statement that meets your travel needs.
Thanks Justwise, however, the issue that i have now is my bank statement. I do not have the much needed amount of monies for this trip and the reason its so important for me is because i want to meet a potential employer to discuss my job description and offer. Please advise do the embassy really 'check" you know what i mean? Please its imminent i know this.

However, i will like to find out if i want to apply for another UK visa fr this december holiday would i be submitting all the same documents over again and would we be subjected to the same scrutiny of documents?

Reason for asking, i dont have that much cash in my account.

Hi All, Isn't there any Banker @ high positions that can confirm to us the process in which embassies validate the statement of account from the banks? Especially knowing that majority of the people submit an "oluwole" statement and they still get their visas. What is the process if they do verify at all?

DEAR VO,

REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP HERE.
I AM A WORKING DAD IN SOUTH AFRICA. I RECENTLY APPLIED FOR A NON-IMMIGRANT VISA TO THE UNITED STATE ON THE REQUEST OF MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER AFTER WE HAVE VISITED THE UNITED KINGDOM AND OTHER ASIAN COUNTRIES AND WE WERE REFUSED. BEFORE NOW IN 2002 I HAD APPLIED FOR A STUDY PERMIT AT THE US EMBASSY IN LAGOS AND WAS REFUSED BUT I HONESTLY FORGOT ABOUT THIS BEEN THAT MY STATUS HAS CHANGED AND ITS BEEN A LONG TIME THUS FORGOT TO MENTION IT IN THE NEW APPLICATION AND THE VISA OFFICER MADE REFRENCE TO THIS AND REFUSED MY ENTIRE FAMILY BASED ON THIS, HE SAID AND I QUOTE "I HAVE DOUBTS"

PLEASE ADVICE AS WE INTEND TO APPLY AGAIN IN APRIL NEXT YEAR FOR OUR 5TH YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. WHAT CHANCES DO WE HAVE AND HOW DO WE APPROACH?
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by Raahym(m): 10:35pm On Jul 03, 2013
AjanleKoko: You have to fill out the DS-160 for everyone who is applying.
And you need to pay the application fee for each of you.
I appreciate you bro! pls i would like to find out, does the US embassy scrutinise statements of account since they issue visa the same day and if yes how do they do that?
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by Raahym(m): 10:02am On Jul 02, 2013
Hi All,

Please advise am planning on visiting the United States with my family (myself, wife and child). Do i have to fill in a different Application for my wife or just include her and my child in my own application. And does this mean we will pay double or tripple application fee?
Most schools advice you let the embassy give the go ahead first so as to avoid having to request a refund of your fees in the case of visa rejection. At the same time it can show financial strength when submitting you application but you might also be shooting yourself in the foot by taking this action of oversabi and I too know. So baba just chill embassy go yan wen to pay.
Thanks so much 2-chains for the info. I am not trying to do oversabi just taking steps to assure my progress.

TravelRe: Arik Air - Passenger Reviews! by Raahym(m): 9:11pm On Apr 15, 2013
Hi Nairalanders, In view everybody's comment and with total respect to Arik as a Nigerian "National" carrier. I regret to inform that Arik do not have qualified neither trained personnel's to man boarding gates especially for people travelling to South Africa from Nigeria. These people have been subjected different forms of harassment and made to pay huge sums ranging from $100 - $1000 USD depending on that case and scenario. I require answers to these questions
1, Is Arik airline well equipped to check passengers permit.
2, Is Arik airline in the position to determine if you do not have an observation stamp on your new passport if you had a previous
3, IS Arik Airline in the position to charge 1st time travelers a certain fee if they do not posses an hotel reservation of the country in which they are travelling

These are just a few of the questions directed at Arik personnel especially the young men and women employed at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos Nigeria.

These men/women are really not representing Arik Airline in any professional form as they have become a big problem for travelers and people as sorting options of flying South African Airways and what are the benefits of having a so called "National Carrier" if it doesn't help its people but rather look for ways to loot them through its staff members.

I am a victim of this act being that i am coming home for the first time after having traveled for four years, they (Arik staff) in Lagos sai to me my permit is fake meanwhile South African Immigration thinks otherwise after having to bribe my way through Muritala with N40, 0000 and the South African Immigration checked my permit and welcomed me back "home" imagine.

I implore the necessary administrative team of Arik to look into this and act accordingly as this is a team work between the shift managers and the boarding teams.

Nairalanders what is happening to Nigeria?
