This is personal so please be courteous with your comments.

I have a married female cousin who takes church serious more than her life, well I don't wanna waste your time with that part of the story.

I have tried to help her husband and her financially for a long time now and I'm afraid I've turned from helper to head of household, not funny. I jokingly told them to hang their boots after they had their fourth child but as I'm typing this, baby five just landed.

Their first son just got admitted into Unilag and guess who they called to help. I've severally decided to stop helping but thoughts of those lovely kids of theirs have always affected my decisions.

I told the newly college admitted boy to open a bank account so that I can channel my help properly but her mum said he wasn't 18 yet so she would be the one running the account until then.

A little background story.

My cousin is a graduate but helps her husband in an imaginary business of his which I have put in like N10m if not more yet nothing to show for it. I later switched to helping my cousin get a job, she ended up getting duped of the money meant to pursue the job Nigerianly.

She was/is my favourite cousin growing up and she was more than a nanny to my sister and I when we were little.

How can I put an end to this madness without feeling guilty about the kids? Mind you, I love their kids very much.

They are blackmailing you emotional

The love for the good and expensive life has driven most ladies into wanting everything luxury. They want to live in beautiful mansions in posh areas, they want to ride in nice cars, eat good food, use expensive gadgets, buy expensive dresses and wear expensive make ups and hairs etc. This pushes them to move towards persons who they feel can provide all these and sometimes hurting the ones who can’t. Hence the notion that ladies love money.

However there are ladies out there who do not really care about the financial security a man has to offer. This set of ladies are not limited only to the rich ones but even the broke ones. There are broke expossed girls who are not moved by life and all of its luxuries and flaunting it just to get them to notice you is a deal breaker for them. Yes! they exist. There are ladies who are looking for simplicity, honesty and love. All they want is someone who will show them love and care, shower them with attention and affection and stick with them no matter their flaws.

Everyone loves money and everybody needs money, however, not all ladies you come across are so impressed by cash and luxury. Even if they may desire it, not every lady makes it a deal breaker. Women also need love and affection, attention and quality time. Sometimes a simple compliment or gesture is all that is needed to kick things off. That lady you see around looking all sexy and serious, just say hi and let her know she looks beautiful, tell her the shoes are pretty, offer to get her a pack of pop corn and you might just be surprised how things will roll.

Purge that mentality of “all women love money” and all they want and care for is cash. You will be spending a lot of money on women and attracting the wrong ones. All men love money too, everybody does. We all want the good life and financial security, stop picking on the ladies.

Education / Re: I Feel Depressed With A CGPA Of 4.2+ by rafindo(m): 9:10pm On Nov 24, 2019
Ithream:
Just about yesterday after speaking with my Class advicer, I was left in a depressed state.

I am currently on my 400level IT and I am to return back to school this coming new year by January. He told me about my result. He said my CGPA is the highest so far. Which makes me his best student. I asked him for the exact CGPA which he replied with with a *4.06*. My God I wondered why he was glad to break such a sad news to me. I thought I had chances of making it a 4.1+ the previous semester. I told him thanks. But I know I wasn't Happy sad

I did the maths...and I found out that the highest CGPA I can make is 4.2+ after my final year(2 semesters left) I feel terrible right now. How can I shift it to 4.3+ Cgpa? I have heard of students borrowing courses but I don't really know if this could be one of their reasons for doing such.

NB: I am not in anyway trying to make it look like having such a CGPA is bad or I am ungrateful. It's just that I have plans of applying for scholarships to study abroad but won't such a Gp hinder me?

Pls I need someone to placate me with motivational words. I feel like a looser. After all these years of studies! What if I loose the passion for school or studies after returning next year? I feel real bad sad sad

What if I might even loose the chance of being the best graduating student of my set like my class adviser had said
sad sad

Politics / Re: Olimpotic Meristemasis: Ayade Presents 1.1trn Budget Estimate For 2020 by rafindo(m): 3:23pm On Nov 21, 2019
Barondenigeria:
By Ike Uchechukwu

Cross River state governor, Prof Ben Ayade has presented the 2020 budget estimate of 1.1trillion naira tagged budget of “Olimpotic Meristemasis” to the State House of Assembly.
Ayade has also abolished payment of tax by small scale entrepreneurs like barbing saloon, welders, stylists amongst others.
According to him, he would rather tax his brain than tax the people, so no more daily payment of N500 by Okada riders and taxis but they will now pay 1000 and 2000 monthly for Okada and taxis respectively adding that all civil servants whose salaries were below 100,000 naira were also exempted from paying tax.

READ ALSO: BREAKING: Gov Ayade presents 1.1trn budget estimate for 2020

Presenting the budget on Thursday on the floor of the State House of Assembly, Ayade said all low income earning people in the state were hereby exempted from taxes including civil servants whose salaries were less than 100,000 naira as well as stylish, saloon operators, welders and more.
His words: “All low-income earners are hereby exempted from taxes, including civil servants who salaries are below 100,000 nairas.

“The budget is an audacious step towards reducing recurrent expenditure and focus on increasing capital expenditure with Capital expenditure standing at 911 billion while recurrent stands at 188 billion which is 82.8% and 17.2 % respectively.
“Nigerians must realise that any state whose budget is driven by the envelop size has limited vision. There are two ways budgets are derived in business or public sector management, it is either as an expression of ambition or an expression of your envelope size.

“The expression of the ambition of the progressive agenda set for Cross River does not allow me the agony to adopt an envelope size budget. The value of our projects have not been commoditised into value , with the intellectual capacity we have reduced a lot of waste,” he said.

Career / Re: How Do I Deal With Office Politics? by rafindo(m): 1:20pm On Nov 20, 2019
Jgoldie:
Hello nairalanders...

I don't know if this is the right place but I am scared and depressed...A lot of stuff and changes have been happening recently in my office .i have seen my colleagues playing office politics and how aggressive the result came out ....now someone just played that politics with me and i heard i have been transferred to the post of a supervisor....oh lawwd, this is my first leadership role...i am scared,i am way to friendly too open,a talkative, these stuff have been used against me in the past..i have read 48 laws of power and i am finding it hard to use those rules...people i have trusted at work do their stuff behind me without uttering a word,i start seeing results and i am get caught in the middle of nowhere.

How do i cope with this office politics, how do you guys working in corporate organisation cope without loosing friends or making foes??
.

I feel your pain. As I am currently involved in what office politics is about.

First you must know that office politics is healthy for an organization that wants to be competitive and stay strong in its domain. But when mediocrity enters the foray it becomes toxic.

Politics is interest.
When in the office settings. 3 interest are pronounced.
The company interest.
Your supervisor interest.
Your personal interest.

The greatest among them should be your interest.

Check the ethnic background.
Educational qualification.
Religious affiliation.
Gender .

If you promotion is vertical then you will have a lot of disgruntled element.

I will suggested you use the carrot and stick approach.

Give your enemies more clue as to what you have in mind just make sure you have a plan B that is better than your plan A.
Maybe more scenarios will be needed.

Politics / Re: Desecration Of Qur'an: Zamfara To Enact Death Penalty For Culprits by rafindo(m): 9:25pm On Oct 15, 2019
khalifjgusau:
Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara state said his government would soon enact a capital punishment law against the desecration of the holy Qur’an in the state.

The Governor made this known while receiving a report from the committee for the review of activities of the State Ministry of Religious Affairs, religious Commissions and committees under the leadership of the former State Deputy Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad.

Matawalle said he had remained sad with the way some people perpetrate the unholy act of desecration of the holy Qur’an in the state.

He explained that to bring an end to the unholy act, his government would soon enact capital punishment laws in the State that would deal with all related offences.

He added that Shariah court judges would also be under careful watch in the way and manner they handled such cases as serious punitive measures would be applied on any erring judge for the purpose of discipline as no amount of punishment would be too severe on such judges or the offenders.

Matawalle also appealed to Islamic scholars in the state to sensitize people on the importance of peace, unity and love for one another for the purpose of having a purified society that is free from all crimes.

Matawalle also reminded people of the State on the importance of repenting from such sins and return to Almighty Allah.

Earlier, the Chairman of the committee Mallam Ibrahim Wakkala Called for the renaming of the State Ulama Consultative Council (UCC) to Zamfara State Fatwah Council with a chairman that would be called Mufti of the State.

He also said there was need for the government to review the existing laws where competent Ulamas who are knowledgeable in Islamic jurisprudence, reputable and upright in character with adequate exposure on contemporary issues to serve as members of the Mufti Council.

Wakkala committee also advised the government to continue with its laudable policies of economic growth, poverty alleviation and fight against insecurity for greater success and acceptability in the state.

The presentation of the report was attended by the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Alhaji Bala Bello Maru, Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, Honourary Adviser to the Governor, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda and Permanent Secretary Government House Alhaji Lawali Ibrahim Kaura among others.
