4. Anambra State
Anambra is a state in southeastern Nigeria. Its name was inspired by one of its Northern and riverine clans Anam but merged with “branch”.

Language spoken: Igala and Igbo are the major languages of Anambra state

Please and please Igala is not a language in anambra state, let alone been a major language.

There is nothing like Igala language in anambra state pls.

Politics / Re: Nigeria VS New York city 2019 Budget, See The Huge Gap by rafindo(m): 10:26pm On Sep 27, 2019
saaron:
That's the difference between federalism and feeding bottle parasitism.
While United States operate federalism where each constituent state in the union have total control over their economic resources (economic activities and revenue generation and pay tax to the centre) and develop at their own pace, Nigeria operates a feeding bottle program where every state is handicaped to control of economic activities and recources in their areas and made to congregrate every month in Abuja for monthly allocation. This explains the absence of creativity and productivity considering the monthly flow of free oil money. Take away monthly allocation and 90 percent of states in Nigeria will die a natural death.

It will interest some people to know that states in America have;
- Their own supreme courts.
- They have their own state polic force (notably NYPD - Newyork Police Department).
- They own all natural recources domicile in their states.

The productivity and economic advancement of America was not by accident, they were made possible by cardinal principles vested on their states as listed above.

Education / Re: Buekor Nyornebari Grace: RSUST Best Graduating Student Begs Wike For Employment by rafindo(m): 8:38pm On Sep 19, 2019
semasir:
Buekor Nyornebari Grace, a first class graduate of Applied and Environmental Biology (Microbiology Option) at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, UST has cried out to the Governor of the state, Nyesom Wike to come to her aid in securing employment at the University.

The 2016 first class graduate who is also an indigene of the state graduated with a CGPA of 4.95 and is supposed to work as an assistant lecturer based on her status as first class graduates before her were usually retained but Grace's case seems to be peculiar as she is not been that lucky.

According to Jonathan Oyim, a colleague of her at UST, she has been knocking on doors of opportunities but these are not opening since their convocation on 1st April 2017.

Below are her transcript:

"On the day of the convocation, when the governor came, he didn't make any pronouncement because there was embargo on recruitment in Rivers State" Jonathan said.

"That convocation produced 5 first class students in the full school of which 3 are non Rivers indigenes while only 2 are Rivers and she was the best graduating student for the year" he continued.

"During service, she started making moves on how the process of retaining will be but she was told to hold on due to the embargo that was on and she should pray that the governor uplifts it so the process can commence" Jonathan concluded.

It would be recalled that Buekor Nyornebari Grace was among the 7 students awarded in 2014 with a laptop for their academic excellence after her Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) at 100-Level was 5.00 in 100 level scoring As all through.

Currently, Grace is teaching in a primary school and earning ₦18000.

Education / Re: Man Puts Sugarcane Hawkers In School In Zaria (Photos) by rafindo(m): 6:50am On Sep 17, 2019
stephenduru:
As shared by Suleiman.....

'A few weeks back I found these two kids hawking Mazarkwaila (sugar cake sort of) on the street of Kofan Doka in Zaria. Looking at their ages, I had to park and walked to the other lane in order to catch up with them, as I was driving on the opposite lane. I stopped them and requested to know their area of residence, name of their parents and their own names.

They were able to answer all the questions satisfactorily except the first question. They were able to give the name of their area of residence without giving a hint on how to locate their house, as they are too young to do that. I further asked how much is the value of the whole Mazarkwaila being carried by the boy (as depicted in the photo below), surprizingly the value was 2500 naira only. I nearly shed tears looking at the money vis-a-vis the risk they were being exposed to. I gave them 3000 naira and told them to go back home.

Thereafter, I placed a phone call to someone I know that lives in the same area with them and told him that I will send some photos to his watsapp and that he should help me locate the parents of those kids.

Happily the man (Audun Durimi) called back a day after to say that he was able to locate them. He sent the phone number of their father to me. I called the father and put some reasonable words regarding the ills of street hawking on children and he completely agreed with my submission. I asked him why are his children not going to school, he said he had to remove them because of his economic situation. I requested for his permission to enrol them, he outrighly accepted.

I am happy to inform you that, today I enrolled Aisha and Isah into the ZEDA model schools. It is a new school that will start operation tomorrow Monday. Aisha and Isah will be part of the pioneer students of this school established by the Zaria Education Development Authority. Their mother is the one standing first from right. May Allah bless these kids, may Allah see them through. I am so happy today. Alhamdullilah'

Seriously kenya is like lagos in size and population and lagos is way more richer than them... the problem with Nigeria is few underdeveloped rural Northern LGA with pockets of violence and few problem with education coupled with our noisy bloggers are the ones bringing shame to Nigeria, most Northern Cities are even finner and richer than kenya just alittle disorganised due to our i don't care atitude

Often times we Nigerians are generally disorganised, thats why we don't have beautiful street veiws, but average cost of a Nigerian home(plasma tv, dstv, home teathers, generators, phones) can buy off all this shitty africans,

When western and white supremacist Propagandist said 98 million Nigerians or half of our population don't spend upto 400 naira a day or $1.9cents i just laugh out loud, even mad men on Nigerian street who are homeless drink shepe and cigarete of 200 a day and eats atleast a 200 naira plate of food daily by just begging

If 98million aint got $1 a day, how come Nigeria is the country with highest number of internet users, the highest importer of best thailand rice and best oil, the highest importer of luxury brands, the highest consumer of Alchohol both beer and spirits

.

...

Stop spewing thrash just to get attention .a simple google will tell you how mistaken you are. By size Kenya is far bigger than Lagos with 580,367 km² to Lagos 3,540km.

In population you are also wrong. Kenya population 52.57 million to Lagos estimated 20 million.

The only thing you can compare Lagos to Kenya is the GDP.

All those who like your comment are disgrace to geography and simple googling.

Family / Re: Should I Stay With My Parents And Invest Or Should I Leave? Advice Needed by rafindo(m): 9:42pm On Jul 11, 2019
Hullabaloon:
Guys I need advice on what to do at this point in my life.

Got a job, in my state, place of work not far from parent's house (rented flat).

I've managed to save up to 400k so far, I've always longed to move away from my parent's house and get my own place, but they'd always kick against it, citing that there's no need for that since work is close to home. Left for them, they'd like me to stay till I plan for marriage whenever that will be; Lol, parents sha.

I'm already 28 years old, so I think it's time.

My colleagues already yab me anytime they get the opportunity, they love reminding me that I still dey chop mama thank you.

Problem is, the job security at my place of work is not that encouraging. I have older colleagues who have been in the company for 8 to 15 years, I've also, within my short period (less than a year now) seen about 5 workers sacked, it's a place where any thing can happen at any time.

So, should I invest this 400k in renting and furnishing an apartment with the constant uncertainty hovering over the job,and no side income yet, or should I continue staying with my parents while I invest the money in a side business which I don't know how it'll fare...

Now, frankly speaking, I'm not cut out for business, it's not my forte at all, so starting any at all comes with great risk but I still feel the need for another source of income.

On the flip side, Staying with my parents is not even as economical as most would think. Ever since I got the job, parents no dey gree say them get money again. All the bills are on me.

I'm just confused.

Salary fluctuates between 60 to 80k
.

You are just like me brother. I have always lived under their shadow. I got a job with my mums help while waiting for nysc ,with her help also I did the service their while working. First born among 4,the weakest in terms of been hardened. The job is not secure thou.jokingly my mum told me I should get a place for myself when I finished service by June.now she heard I have gotten a place from my friends.she has employed them to dissuade me from living home.my brother the wisdom is simple, you will always be under their shadow unless you decide to be the light. You only get a seat at the table unless you shake it.moooooovvvvvvveee bro.
They own the house but I told my dad I am not interested in inheriting it but making mine. No time is right expect now.
