Greed, is a strong human instinct. Both the promoters and victims were trying to satisfy their greed. So none are "innocent". And just like Allen Greenspan said when asked if the 2008 financial crisis can happen again, he said that we will be here again, since we are dealing with human greed.

Ponzi Schemes will only end in Nigeria, after some people gather beat black and blue, the people that convinced them to invest in it, in the first place. They do not tell you about it because they love you. They are telling you about it because they want to use you to gain Referral Bonus. They too are part of the Thieves.

I am so happy I dumped all of my Oando shares at N71.95 on Feb 5th, just after they announced the crazy 1 for 12 share redistribution.

thebargainhunte:
When are they distributing their shares? Imagine crashing the price to this level and you think they are not manipulating the price. The second bonus is coming up next two months, yet the first one has not been distributed.

Well, as of now it is Trump who is openly begging China to negotiate. Let's see who is the world leader.

delvzy:
This trade war between the US and China tends to last for a while to see who burge first.
Just look at another matter brewing in the UK, where the parliament had to come back from a recess to potentially renationalise British Steel from heading into a total collapse.

While I don't agree with some part of Trump’s tariff push but a man’s go to do what he gotta to remain as a world leader.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 12:41pm On Apr 12, 2025
It is even possible that the unthinkable could happen. Trump is playing the same cards he showed to Chaina, and the world 8 years ago. China has made serious adjustments since then. They also saw Trump's second term coming and knew what to expect. So it is not a surprise this time, and they definitely have their own plans.

SonofElElyonRet:
I think Trump's leverage is that China exports a whole lot to USA but you are right that he wasn't counting on China being belligerent. Not everyone will agree to be publicly humiliated and bullied without fighting back

Thanks. I didn't consider JIJI because I once advertised some Caterpillar equipment and I could not get to sell them on the platform. So I thought it is only for small items. I will give it a try.

debeey87:
I no be oga Emma but you can use J i j i to advertise. I've sold 2plots of land I advertised there before. You can post in the property session of nairaland as well.

@Oga Emma. Pls excuse me while I go slightly off subject. I said slightly cos I believe real estate is also investing. I have a plot located at a prime area that I want to sell directly myself without using an agent. Is it advisable to do it this way, and if so, where should I advertise it?

Not when you have a government of oil import cabals. Every country is trying to protect its own industries from imports but we are proudly providing easy dumping grounds for other countries' refineries.

The unpredictable Trump ordered a 90 day suspension of tariff increase on those countries that didn't retaliate. This sent the Dow gaining over 5% immediately. There are already accusations of market manipulation.

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 11:02am On Apr 07, 2025
Maybe yes, maybe no. A lot depends on the results they want to release and how far down oil price goes in the Trump tariffs crisis.

megawealth01:
That will be dangerous but Wale won't allow that
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 10:41am On Apr 07, 2025

OANDO 😳
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 9:51am On Apr 06, 2025
Lol. Those long turenchi are pointers to either an imminent release of the results, or something significant. Didn't you see how last week a lot of long turenchi about Oando prospects and their Oga were released just before the company announced the delay of their results? Some companies are so good at this that you can actually time your entry and exits using their long turenchi.

RodgersAkpafu:
na result we wan see lol
Not this long turenchi lmao

Chai!! Imagine someone whose holding in Oando rose to N200m when it tauched N89 last year. If the person held till now, he would have lost over N100m. No wonder they advised taking profit.

Raider76:
Bad news for our domestic upstream oil companies. Meanwhile. Oando looks set for full offer today after postponing the release of their results. It is now more than 50% down from its recent peak
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 1:24pm On Apr 04, 2025
Madam, take it easy. I posted this when the price dipped to N40.30, which was the max for the day. No one is celebrating anything. Just pointing our the facts.

yMcy56:
Attached is OANDO situation as at now....
Is this the full offer you're talking about?

Read the report well. It says oil market are diversified, and oil can be redirected to other markets.

BTW. I hope this US tariff thing helps to wakeup our government that is doing the exsct opposite in refining oil. We are in effect encouraging dumping of PMS on ourselves in the name of encouraging competition with our local refining.

chimex38:
May be true..
But at least our own dangote's export go hear am.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 9:36am On Apr 04, 2025
We just like feeling bad about ourselves. We may have good reasons for that. But there are solutions. What of the EPZs? We can go in quickly and fix everything. We don't have to fix the whole country cos they won't be manufacturing all over.

chimex38:
Exactly.
Infrastructure doesn't get fixed in 24hrs.
We also need a geographic spread. Not just Lagos n Abuja and few others.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 9:16am On Apr 04, 2025
Again, they are not selling here. They will manufacture here and export. Exports from Africa have lower tariffs under the psyco Trump tariffs policies.

olig:
And who will they sell to; where is the market?

For instance, how many people can buy new car in Nigeria? How many units has Innoson been able to sell till date? Last year alone, the US imported over 8m vehicles, despite still manufacturing grin
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 9:12am On Apr 04, 2025
Well, let's hope they are wiser now. You can't stay dumb forever. Let's be optimistic. grin

Agbalowomeri:
If they were smart in the first place, those barriers won't be there right? grin
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 8:53am On Apr 04, 2025
Smart African countries will move quickly and remove those barriers.

jaybee3:
How are they going to navigate the following:
Political Instability
Corruption cost
Infrastructural Gap
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 8:51am On Apr 04, 2025
They are not saying the companies will sell in Africa, but manufacture in Africa and then export to the US at lower tariffs.

Youngzedd:
Purchasing power is everything.

Africa isn't yet there. Trump knows that these companies needs the US like oxygen.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 8:12am On Apr 04, 2025
I saw this opinion printed in an Indian media. What do you think if it happens?

"Rather than bringing manufacturing back to the US, global firms may just relocate to low-tariff nations, possibly in Africa."

Probably the effect of the allotment of the RI shares. Some maybe selling. If so, there maybe a support at the RI price of N25.

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 1:02pm On Apr 03, 2025
I wonder how many stocks per year on average, do you get chance to enter based on this entry strategy?

aj8:
@yMcy56
You probably would have guessed that that at their current prices, I would not jump into either. Why? Simply because they are way above the metrics I use for my Common Sense Entry Strategy. For this strategy, my entry is gauged either on estimated EPS, where I buy into at a price way below (EPS x 4), or buy at a price way below 10x estimated dividends. I use whichever is higher of the two metrics. I don’t however doubt their potential to appreciate bearing in mind their valuation based on P/E. The cost of raw rubber is forecast to continue its climb so would expect Okomu to do well into 2025 and probably pay higher dividends if not at least the same total of N36. So my entry for Okomu would be N360 or lower which I doubt if they would ever drop to that …hence my not jumping in but would if it does. Dangote in the same vein N300 is based on dividends. Can safely jump in if it ever drops below that price which again I doubt it would.
So far, the strategy has kept my funds safe and I pray it continues that way.

The aim remains to get into a front row seat on any stock before it starts to climb. Not when the train has departed the station. However should the train return to the station Jump in.

The gurus on this platform will be able to do justice to this. I don’t consider myself one.

These are purely my thoughts. Please pick whatever seems flesh and throw away the bone.

Thank you for the tremendous good you are doing on this platform. You have my respect.

Shouldn't we compare stocks to only their peers in the same industry? Geregu is probably ok if you compare it to Transcorp Power.

Streetinvestor2:
Geregu and gtbank in the same dividend bracket
Apr and transcorp hotel the same range.
Then check share price. Price manipulation is real in this market to be in billionaire club

I guess it's like people calling TCN, and all the Discos, "NEPA". In O&G there is one masquerade behind all the masks anyway grin

GeneralDae:
Dangote’s deal leans more on the FG committee and NMPDRA than NNPC. In the end, NNPC would only do what the regulator NMPDRA tells them to do.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Raider76: 11:27am On Apr 02, 2025
Talking about Dangote. How will the changes at NNPC affect local refining? It is being said that some of the key people coming in are from Renaissance Group. I believe Aradel is in the group, and it is said that they have a refinery
Will they help local refining against imports?

Mpeace:
No be result go push first bank. Na Ote$ go push first bank. Just wait make he conclude the rights issue.
Na first bank he go use catch Dangote for forbes things. Lol
