Why am I surprise? The problem with the Nigeria army starts from the admission process. 80% of most officers got into NDA because of connection from politicians or senior military officer. Getting into NDA is not by merit. We have so many half baked military officers that would drop their weapon and run from rag tag boko haram without firing a weapon. I have a friend who tried getting into NDA for 4 years but was not admitted because he didn't have connection. The whole system is corrupt and its time for the government to start allowing the right people get into the military

I think you miss my point here. I live in the States. I didn't say Africa don't have problems or Africa is better than US. I was trying to tell the OP that US has its own set of problems just like in Africa. The OP listed the different problems facing Africa and I told him US ain't perfect too. Every country has its percular problem. There is proverty and homeless here in the states just like in Africa tho they have a better welfare system than in Africa. Do you know over 35 million Americans depend on their government for food stamp and without that millions of Americans will stave.
Some cities in US like have a higher murder and crime rate than some major Africa cities. The US has over 2 million people locked up in prison and that is more than population of most Africa countries. This means crime is a major problem in the states.
More black men would go through the prison, jail or get probation than the population of black men that will ever attend college.
Anyway, I am not trying to compare the US and Africa. Every country has its good and bad and I felt the OP post was one sided and baised. Thanks

I agree with the writer. Lagos is a horrible city to stay. There is no effective mass transit system in lagos, the traffic is horrible, the housing and streets are not planned. No effective security system

lol Bae just pray they've completed building the new girls hostel. Cos in b14 gurls lived in one big hall and thosr that came late were put in the new hostel thàt was being constructed then, they had no windows and the floor was still sand. guys had different rooms. Even my room had 12 guys and 6bunks, very cool. As for toilet, just learn to stroll with ur tissue cos every available cool bush is ur toilet

what part of the camp are they building a new hostel? There was no construction when I was there. That camp is too old and i think the enugu state government should build a new camp like other state. The secret of getting a good hostel is by arriving in camp early. I was 3 days late to camp and I was among the last 25 to register and my number was 2637. I wasn't even allocated a bunk space. I didn't have any bunk in the first 2 night and I had to stay with a friend from my school. I had to assembly a bunk with a friend of mine on the 3rd day. My hostel was that hall beside the lecture hall that was were all late arrivals to camp were allocated in my time. It was always noisy and I prefer those hostels with room. Agwu was a really better sweet experience. Are you still serving?

Nairaland has been compromise by PDP. There was bomb blast in Gombe and Mubi was attack by boko haram and it didn't make front page. Also our oga at the top in nairaland try to enforce a law that nobody should insult GEJ. All the the post that made front page are beneficial to GEJ and posts about insecurity in Nigeria don't make the front page because it make GEJ look bad

Agwu camp is one of the oldest camp in Nigeria. It was built during the civil war by Ojukwu infact some of the old civil war bunker are use as hostel. It is on top of a small hill and it get really cold at night. The toilets are horrible. I mean really terrible. In my hostel we used pit latering as toilet and it was the first time I ever use a pit latering. Also the toilet and bathroom are located in the same location and you see people deficating while you take your bath. Also there is big water problem because the camp is located on hill there is no borehole. You either buy water or wait till 6am or 6pm when a water truck supply water for the camp and the water usually last for only 1 hour. The hostels don't have good windows so you might need a blanket and since its a small camp there is always overcrowding. I didn't have any bunk to sleep on my first 3 night because I arrived at the camp very late. It has been 3 years since I went to camp there so somethings might have change. Anyway, Enugu is one of the best state to served. I enjoyed every second I spend in Enugu and I was lucky to get a good ppa in the largest LGA in Enugu. Enugu was the highest paying state 3 years ago and we were always paid on time and never owed any allawee. My set was the first to be paid 10k and it used to be 5k. I don't know how much they pay now .NYSC in Enugu was one of my best experience in life. You will love Enugu State and make sure you have fun
