[quote author=onlyhandsome202 post=125894582]SCARY UPDATE

I was talking to a principal of a school today, he told me in confidence that we may likely not be paid the new salary this month. That they were asked to submit and sign the old voucher. I also talked with someone else at the office of the Head of service and he said same, that we may not considering we don't have a constituted board.
Pls who has a different information? Since then, my mood has not been the same.
If you are close to your own principal, can you confirm what is actually going on.its not true.i was at the board last week Tuesday,a director told me that our voucher has been sent to the governor on Monday for approval with the new scale.

Politics / Re: Why Minimum Wage Cant Be A "Palliative" For Fuel Price Hike by ralfdudu1: 1:50pm On May 20, 2016
donpata:
Many NLanders who dont support NLC strike keep saying NLC should talk of minimum wage rather than fuel hike. I think that's a weak point of argument and so i won ask: "How Many People Minimum Wage don Epp?"

My point is simple: If anyone wants to argue for deregulation as being the best option, then its best to do so without bringing the minimum wage into it cos that is a story for another day.

I therefore believe that NLC was right for refusing to negotiate minimum wage at a meeting meant to address fuel hike. Also, there is no how FG would claim min wage is a "palliative" because that is a baseless argument.

The fact stands that:
1. Based on records, the FG has about 90k staff. Add up the security agencies and it may be save to say that FG has around 500k people on its payroll. Now if we relate that to 160mill Nigerians, that's about 0.3% of our total population.

2. Lagos State employs the largest work force after the FG. Kaduna has about 90k staff on its payroll. Oyo about 86k. Let's assume an average of 60k staff for the 36 states of the federation. We should thus have about 2.1mill state workers and this represents a meagre 1.3% of our total population (I know its likely higher).

3. The minimum wage they want to review will also only affect these 0.3% FG workers because the last time i checked, about 26 states are currently battling with the issue of salaries which is based on 18k minimum wage. This is besides the fact that many states have not even implemented the 18k min wage.

For instance, Kaduna State govt where i work uses 15k as min wage. On level 8, am paid 36k and note that i have a BSc, PGDE, and MSc. My boss who also has MSc. is on Lev 16 and is paid 123k.
Now relate the above to the fact that a diploma holder on FGs payroll earns upwards of 45k depending on the institution/agency.

4. Thus, how can FG hike fuel price and introduce Minimum wage of 45k (or so) as "palliative" for something that will only affect just 0.3% of our population? (dependants noted but excluded)
* What about communities that dont have any federal worker? How do they benefit from the so called "palliatives"?

5. Besides Lagos which may be able to pay its workers any reviewed minimum wage, which other state can pay?

6. It is general knowledge that the price of fuel affects over 90% of Nigerians as compared to minimum wage that will only benefit a few.

7. If i invite people to a ceremony and some eat 3 plates while others take just 1, i believe everyone eats based his stomach's carrying capacity so i got no reason to vex. Wetin concern me with that oga that Govt is subsidizing the fuel he uses in his SUV? subsidize for me too according to my stomach- (1.4lt engine) and i will be happy.

8. What about those who are not even on Govt pay roll? The farmers, petty traders, students, barbers, phone charging vendors, the maisuya and the grocery shop owners who use Tiger Generator? What about the students that go to school daily and the workers that will be paying a hiked TP fare? Which do they benefit from? Min wage abi Low Pump Price?

9. They claim the N145 pump price will ensure availability of product but we all know its a lie. Right now in Kaduna, the queues are gradually returning again. Of cos the marketers are exhausting their products and will thus have to go and buy with dollar at 340. With this "deregulation" and CBN FX policy, i think N145 is not the ceiling but rather the floor.

10. Finally, shebi they said they have N3trn in TSA. Make them use am arrange the Refinery nah or are they keeping it for 2019?

SUMMARY
FOR those who did not read my epistle, all i'm saying is govt should argue for the good of deregulation but never bring in increased minimum wage as a "palliative" cos it only DIRECTLY benefits less than1% of the Nigerian population. They want to getaway with the insensitive fuel hike easily. Min. Wage is a necessary discussion for another day.
what the union dues they deduct from my salaries.is it everybody that also pays that dues.abeg let talk about minimum wage

Schools, Fake Teachers, Rock Kogi
After painstaking investigations, it has been finally established that there are massive and rampant cases of fake certificates, being paraded by thousands of primary school teachers in Kogi State payroll through SUBEB.
This was part of the stunning revelations contained in a comprehensive report submitted to the immediate past Governor Capt. Idris Wada by the Interim Management Committee that was inaugurated on 12th May, 2014 to oversee the affairs of SUBEB, sequel to copious petitions that SUBEB had become a cesspool of unbridled corruption and poor leadership style of the former chairman of the board. The report also revealed that there are no fewer than 900 fake Schools and hundreds of fake teachers in all the 21 Local Government Education Areas of the State.
A copy of the report exclusively obtained by this independent online journalist last week, stated that this unwholesome development have been discovered to be causing grievous damages to the future of school children in the state.
According to the report, there are rampant cases of fake certificate in most LGEAs especially NCE Certificates, purportedly obtained from NITT and college of educations.
It was discovered also that during the extensive investigations, that a good number of teachers in the state could not speak good English, even at very senior level. To arrest this ugly development, the report recommended that teachers should be promoted based on examination and interview.
In the same vein, the state government has been urged to urgently set up a high powered committee to carry out verification of school teachers in the state because of the menace of fake teachers that have found their ways into the system.
This report which was never implemented by the then governor Captain Idris Wada before the end of his tenure, also suggested that all qualified teachers posted to LGEAs head offices should be transferred back to the field immediately, to solve the challenges of gross under staffing being experienced in many school across the state. It was recommended that failure of such teachers to go back to the class room should result in compulsory retirement.
In the same vein, all those teachers without original NCE certificates or letters of attestation from such schools, should be laid off immediately. The report also recommend, the need for adequate supervision of schools and LGEAs by members of SUBEB.
The committee furthered discovered that several teachers in LGEAs pay rolls were found to be working else where i.e Civil Defense Corps in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt.
It was also discovered that most educational secretaries including sectional heads in LGEAs were allegedly fraudulent, as they issue and backdated several new employment letters as conduit pipe to defraud the state running into millions of naira.
The state government was also advised to flush out all fake teachers that found their ways into the pay roll through the educational secretaries and their collaborators.
There were also rampant cases of dead teachers being replaced by the educational secretaries without consultation with SUBEB, while some head teachers and sectional heads were discovered to have inserted fresh names in their pay rolls through which they were defrauding the state government of millions of naira monthly.
Another shocking discovery by the committee were cases where letters of appointment of some teachers had been backdated in other to escape 2010 embargo on state government policy.
Meanwhile, one of the key components of the change agenda of Alh. Yahaya Bello led administration is the total war on corruption and other financial crimes which he had sworn to pursue with all seriousness during his tenure in office.
I rubbish, instead of you to tell us when the biometric will start and finish,u are telling us about kogi state fake teachers.incase you don't know I have not been paid feb ,apr and may salaries here in Rivers state.

My Journey to PPSB today on salary Matter.

Following the info i got from this forum, I went to the board today to see and know what is really going on. No vex I know say you no send me message! What I saw was, so many "unhappy" teachers from different local government area who are busy checking and correcting different type of error ranging from BVN to ACCOUNT NUMBER and even BANK! Jesus! I sat down and started asking myself did we just start this job today? what kind of mistakes are this? could it be intentional? I waited for answers, since there was none, I went to my LGA officer table for verification and was told to drop my info (BVN, Computer No, etc) which my friend had already done, that they will treat it later. I look for sometime, sit for sometime and when I was tired I carry my file and straight to my house.

Ok. I forgot to inform you that NUT chairman was there today monitoring things, I even saw some press men too, don't ask me whether they are original or Fa?. in fact I saw plenty... the whole thing look like abrakadabra in a simple sentence...our country is full of magicians.

Don't waste your time waiting o , GO and check things out at the board before your salary enter TSA account. though I did not see the voucher , but my principal told me that we don't have issues with data that problem comes from their end and that will be rectified. all the same I still drop my account information.

Thanks to all those who are giving us good info here. God bless you all with wisdom for diversification and unlimited prosp
erity in Jesus name. Amen.
