There are at least 20 million people living in Alaigbo and at least 80 % of them are Igbos. So I do not know who is running away from Alaigbo. We are in charge there but also in Lagos. Fasola knows better, hence his apology.

Convincing Leo Stan Ekeh to grant an interview was not a walk in the park but with some persuasion, he opened up on his life and career.

He begins the discussion by delving into his early life which was neither fraught with extreme riches nor poverty.

He said, “I was born in Imo State and I can’t absolutely discredit my parents. During their time, they were an average family and we had a decent but very realistic life.’’

After secondary school, the young Ekeh was in India. Though not a popular destination then, fate decided otherwise for him and he explained why:

“After I wrote Joint Matriculation Examination, I had an accident and was hospitalised for about three months. By the time I was discharged, I had missed my admission. I was a little bit frustrated and my friend in India said I should come to India because he felt I might like it there. I got admission to Punjab University, India and after my first degree in Economics; I went for a post-graduate in Computer Science in Cork city University, Ireland. There, my counsellor identified me as a restless entrepreneur. He thought computer science did not make sense for someone going back to Africa because it did not exist. I insisted on returning to Nigeria. He discussed with my parents and the next option I had was to read risk management. I did that at Nottingham University and City University, London for a one year.

“It was a combined programme and I spent six months at each university. After that, because I wanted to know the laws guiding business, I registered for an LLM in Business Law. I wrote my thesis but did not sit for my exams because I had a business call.”

Not long after, he established his company. “I launched my first project which was desktop publishing and computer graphics under my first company, Task Systems Ltd. That technology changed the face of media and multimedia houses in West Africa,” he gushed.

Growing up, he admitted there were not many people to look up to as mentors; therefore, he devised a pattern. “There were few creative and structured businesses owned by Nigerians. You see billionaires with cash but without history and structure. Sincerely, I looked up to God for direction, I had a passion then which was to prove a point that it can be done by not just an African but by a Nigerian. I am not chasing money, I am chasing passion and your passion should be able to pay your bills.”

Talking about his first major break is an episode in his life he likes to relive and he did so with so much satisfaction in his voice: “It was ordained by God because when I launched the project, I did not have a long incubation period. The day after I launched it, our first customer placed an order worth $35,000. Two weeks after, one advertising agency paid us N3.7 million when one USD was equivalent to 80k! It was then I realised there are huge opportunities in this country. In less than one year, we had a positive balance sheet. I was working 24 hours until I was hospitalised. I lost my hair due to stress. I used to wear an afro but all of a sudden, my hair started pulling out of its roots.”

For one who runs a multi-billion naira business, his start-up capital comprised of his school fees.

“When I was doing my master degree in law,” he recalled, “I had an option to either pay my school fees and take my exams or use my school fees to launch my business. I went for the latter and that was why I could not sit for my LLM exams at the university, where I already spent nine months of intense study. I started my business with less than £4000 which was sent to me by my parents for school fees and living expenses.”

His parents found out but the success that came his way pacified them.

Success, he said, does not come easy. Dishing out his success recipe, Ekeh said, “Believe in God, embrace simplicity and common sense. Success in life must be total. If I am successful and my family is not successful, then I am not qualified to be called a success. Also, be determined to take pain before pleasure. It consumes time, it takes you out of circulation but there is a target. Moreover, continue to upgrade yourself and be less emotional in decision making. There is a difference between charity and creative value. Don’t bring people who are not competent into the corporate space because they are related to you.”

Inspite of all the accolades that have come his way, he confessed he is far from fulfilment. “I will be 58 next year and I thought by now, every Nigerian will be digitally driven but it is not so. I still have a lot to offer.”

Ask him what his staying power is and he replied: “My integrity. For years, I was personally the collateral of the organisation in importing on credit because I had no physical assets to leverage on. You do not need cash and property to climb to the top, just be a man of integrity and bankers will be your security chiefs.”

Is retirement in view?

“No,” came his response.

“The only fear entrepreneurs in Nigeria have is sustenance. You don’t retire full-time if it’s your passion. I can’t alter my age but gradually, I am beginning to take a back seat and I’m doing a lot of inspirational talk and training,” he said.

Curious to know what a day in the life of an executive like him entails, he gave a peep into it.

“My day starts with solving problems for people. Then, I attend meetings, train staff and this is why I don’t really have time to socialise and it keeps me out of trouble. Out of 24 hours, I work for 18 hours,” he stated.

Relaxation for him is a straightforward routine and his home, he opines, provides him an avenue to de-stress.

“When I get into my home, I feel fulfilled and at peace. My home gives me the kick to stay stronger and live longer. Occasionally, I take over from the chef and prepare extra healthy meals for my wife and kids and then wash the plates to remind me of where I came from. The next is, I play loud music of Nigerian artistes. My house is my heaven on earth and my wife keeps to my simple five commandments.”

Talking about his wife brought a sudden glow to his face and he qualified her using endearing terms.

Married to a woman who is also technologically driven, he said with a broad smile playing on his face, “My wife is the CEO of another technology company and runs the biggest ICT distribution company in Sub-Saharan Africa. We are a digitally sensitive family.”

The 26-year-old marriage is a product of his stay in India. He reminisced: “I met her as a student in India. She was the only Nigerian doing mathematics in India. In life, you cannot be successful alone and you should ask God for a wife who will give you peace and who is intellectually sound to add value. My wife is my queen and I have no hidden bank account, no property on earth she does not know. We have five children and I am at peace with all.”

His looks belie his age by at least one decade and he admitted it is borne out of an age-long disciplined life.

“I am an in-house person and I have taken healthy living as a hobby. From childhood, I avoided alcohol and cigarette and I eat healthy food. I also spend few minutes every week in my personal gym.”

Although he gives back to the society and is passionate about philanthropy he would rather not discuss it.

Narrowing down the conversation to style, he had this to say, “What I like to do, I do it very well and I do self audit. A professional must dress responsibly and that is what I do.”

As Nigeria celebrates her independence day next Tuesday, Hausa-Fulani leaders from emirs to top political bigwigs are reported to be making frantic efforts to rebuild the widening gulf with the Middle-Belt region targeting General Theophilus Danjuma as contact point.

Sunday Tribune was told that the leaders involved in the reconciliation project include top emirs from core North, influential clerics, elected governors and leading professionals, who are said to have concluded that rebuilding the old alliance between the Hausa-Fulani and the Middle-Belt elites is a condition for defeating President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

The Hausa-Fulani leaders were said to be alarmed at increasing integration and mobilisation of minority tribes across the three zones of the North in an anti-Hausa-Fulani agenda. The interpretation of new Middle-Belt region was discovered to be encompassing of all other tribes in the North, except the Hausa-Fulani.

Findings by Sunday Tribune showed that core Arewa leaders also noticed that Middle-Belt leaders involved in the new Middle-Belt project are heavily funded and enjoy support from influential Middle-Belt people like General Danjuma. The minorities in the North are said to harbour a political agenda which was to assert themselves and achieve what the late Joseph Tarka and others failed to do in the aborted Third Republic.

A top northern leader who was involved in the Project Danjuma lamented that the efforts to woo Danjuma had failed and that the Middle belt appears to have sealed a pact with the South-South.

Why Danjuma shuns Core North- The Yar' Adua/Atiku Connection

Sunday Tribune investigation, however, revealed that the general who was a top operative within the Arewa elite in the late 60's and due to his alleged nasty experience during first and second time of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as military and civilian leader of the country.

Findings revealed that the relationship between Danjuma and his old Hausa/Fulani friends started to crack soon after the assassination of General Muritala Muhammed and ascension to power of General Obasanjo in 1976. Danjuma could not be made the chief of defence staff because a Christian/ Christian ticket won't work.

Obasanjo was said to have conceded that Danjuma should search for a chief of staff agrreable to him. According to a source very close to the situation then, Danjuma brought General Buhari but the Ota farmer reportedly told him Buhari would be too independent minded for the job at hand.

Danjuma was said to have later settled for late General Sheu Musa Yar'Adua, who relatively young was accepted by both Danjuma and Obasanjo as the right choice for the position. The occupant was, however, to hold the office symbolically while Danjuma, the Chief of Army Staff, was to be the de facto second in command.

The arrangement was said to have worked for some few months until the late Yar'Adua came under pressure from Arewa elite still smattering from the death of Muritala. Obasanjo later succumbed to pressure to treat all service chiefs the same way and enforce reporting by service chiefs through the Chief of Staff, adegence Headquarters.

Danjuma was thus reduced to the level of other service chiefs, despite the circumstance under which late Yar'Adua was brought into government. He was said to have left government a changed man who believed he was maltreated simply because he was a minority Christian in the Middle Belt. Reports indicated that Danjuma shifted his wealth and inflluence to funding Christians and ideals of Middle Belt as a distinct from that of Hausa Fulanis.

If the experience of 1976 to 1979 changed Danjuma fundamentally, it was learmt that the event of 1999 to 2003 under the Obasanjo presidency sealed any hope of the General realligning with the core north for ever.

The rift between Danjuma and former Vice President Atiku Abubskar when Danjuma was the defence minister was cited as the ladt straw that broke the proverbial camel's back.

An Hausa Fulani traditional title holder disclosed on condition of anonymity that while Danjuma started funding Middle belt groups since 1980,he has since leaving government in 2003 become the largest single financier of Christian associations in the North.

"Because of that relationship with both YarAdua and Atiku Abubskar ,The General has foreclosed any thought of unity with the core north. We know he felt betrayed and wounded by events in those days", the source said.

An official of the Middle Belt Forum from kaduna state confirmed to Sunday Tribune that the core north indeed tried to recruit Danjuma into thier anti- Jonathan agenda but he declined

" The General rebuffs them. He told them nobody should drag him intranet fight. And we stand by him and we stand by the President" , the official. Who said he was not authorised to speak said.

Meanwhile,PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan will host another edition of the Presidential Media Chat today 3 at 7.00 p.m.

NURTW clash claims 6 in Lagos

Written by Olalekan Olabulo - Lagos

NO fewer than six people have been killed, as factions of hoodlums clashed over control of motor parks in Ajah area of Lagos State.

The battle for ownership and territorial control of Ajah has been on for sometime and the hope of many residents that it had ended, was dashed Saturday afternoon, as hostility returned.

Three factions were identified in the latest clash - the Ajah boys, Olumegbon boys and Ilaje boys, with the Ajah boys said to have had the upper hand.

A resident of Ilaje, who identified himself as Tunde , while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune, stated that the latest clash was supposed to be between the Olumegbon boys and Ajah boys, but it was extended to the Ilaje boys, who were initially not part of it.

Tunde said four Olumegbon boys and two people were killed in the clash which disrupted commercial activities in many parts of Ajah, on Saturday.

It was gathered that the Olumegbon and the Ajah boys, who had initially formed an alliance against the Ilaje boys had for some weeks now been having disagreement over a " minor issue" of who controls the parks.

The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the Olumegbon boys had, on Saturday, been deceived that there was going to be a peace meeting, when the Ajah boys attacked them, killing four people in the process.

The Ajah Boys , who felt that the Ilaje boys might support the Olumegbon boys, invaded the Ajah boys' base and reportedly killed two members of the gang. The situation became very riotous, as sounds of gun took over many parts of Ajah, forcing many residents to flee, while others remained indoors.

A resident, who pleaded anonymity, stated that the recent crisis might not be connected with moves by a prominent person in the area to become the traditional ruler of the town.

"The Ajah boys and Olumegbos boys used to be friends until the godfather of the Olumegbon boys started a fresh move to become the oba of Ajah," the resident said.

He, however, appealed to the police and the state government to intervene and prevent the warring hoodlums from causing further mayhem.

Meanwhile, army and police had since on Saturday, been drafted to many parts of Ajah. Efforts to get the reaction of the image maker in charge of the state police command, Ngozi Braide, were futile

3 die, 12 houses razed in Lagos communal clash
FRANCIS SUBERU AND MURITALA AYINLA

Three people were feared killed and 12 houses burnt yesterday in a communal clash between the Ilaje and the Ajah on Lagos Island.

Hell was let loose as the entire Ilaje Waterside area of Ajah was turned into a theatre of war.

When our correspondent visited Ajah yesterday, hundreds of people were seen fleeing the community just as Ilaje Waterside and the California Village within the neighborhood had been totally deserted.

Some youths who stayed behind were openly brandishing dangerous weapons, including cutlasses, broken bottles and daggers.

Investigations by our correspondents revealed that the major settlers in the area, the Ilaje, and the indigenes, the Ajah, had been living together peacefully until recently when they had disagreement over toll collection at Ilaje motor park and boundary control.

It was gathered that the Ilaje, being the main settlers in the area, wanted total control of the boundary and the collection of tolls from the motor park but the leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, objected to it; saying being settlers in an area does not confer control of parks and toll collections.

This angered the Ilaje who believed that the decision of the union was influenced by the Ajah people who allegedly had three of their indigenes as principal officers of the union.

Trouble, however, started on Monday when some Ilaje youths allegedly attacked the Ajah people, injuring their monarch, Baale Ojupon Alani, and two other chiefs.

A source told our correspondent that the Ilaje waterside people recruited mercenaries from their kit and kin in other riverine areas to prosecute the fight.

Yesterday, in retaliation of what the Ilaje people did on Monday, Ajah youths descended on the Ilaje and burnt their houses. About 12 houses were burnt while three people were reportedly killed in the fracas.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ngozi Braide, said the fight broke out early in the morning and that police officers were quickly deployed to the area to maintain the peace.

Braide, however, said she could not confirm if anybody died in the incident, stressing that the area was now calm.

The PPRO said: “The fight broke out early hours of today (Wednesday) and our men from Ajah division and surrounding divisions, including men of Rapid Respond Squad, RRS, were quickly deployed to the scene.

“They were able to bring the situation under control and arrested two persons with two pump action machine guns.”

She, however, added that the suspects had been transferred to the State Anti- Robbery Squad, SARS.

But the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Lateef Ibirogba, could not confirm the communal clash even as he made efforts to call his counterpart in rural development.

A source in the Ministry of Rural Development, who did not want his name mentioned, told National Mirror that the crisis was between cult members, who were students of higher institutions located in the two communities.

He said: “The clash was between Eye Confraternity and other cult members. It has nothing to do with the communities at all.”

All efforts to speak with the Commissioner for Rural Development, Mr. Cornelius Ojelabi proved unsuccessful.

Osun: Fracas in Ogboni Confraternity over new leader's appointment

News Monday, May 27, 2013

BY GBENGA OLARINOYE

OSOGBO - Members of Ogboni Confraternity in Osogbo may have turned the Osun Grooves to battle field following a fracas which ensued between two factions of the group.

During the crisis which occurred, last week, the curator and site manager of the National Museum, Osogbo, under the National Commission for Museum and Monument Department of the Federal Ministry of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, Mr. Olakunle Makinde, was caught in the web of the crisis and beaten blue black which led to his being hospitalised.

Also, staff of the commission whose offices are located inside the Osun Grooves have deserted thier offices for almost a week for fear of being attacked like their boss.

It was gathered that the fracas started following attempt to appoint new leader of the confraternity in Osogbo called Are Ogboni. It was gathered that one Okiki was appointed the new Are Ogboni and was to be crowned by the Olu-awo, Alhaji Adebisi, but because of the rift between Okiki and Olu-awo, Adebisi was by-passed while the World President known as Alaye was invited from Imesi-Ile for the installation.

Shortly after the installation, the poster of new Are Ogboni was pasted on the Ogboni meeting Centre called Iledi located inside Osun Grooves. It was learnt that some members loyal to Adebisi, the Olu-awo tore the posters at Iledi which resulted in the fracas.

In the ensuing melee, several people were injured as dangerous weapons were freely used before the intervention of policemen from the Zone II of the Nigeria Police. Some personalties were reportedly arrested, detained and later released on bail.

Efforts by members loyal to the new Are Ogboni (Okiki) to take over the control of Iledi, the meeting venue of the confraternity, compounded the crisis as the two factions are laying claim to the centre.

The Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun and his traditional chiefs have intervened in the matter and appealed to the two factions to maintain law and order promising to look into the matter.

It was also learnt the matter has been officially reported to the Director General of National Museum and Monuments, Yusuf Abdudala Usman and Director of Heritage Sites and Monuments, Mr. Oluremi Adebayo and security operatives towards guarantee the safety of the staff of the Osogbo National Museum.

Lagos: I gave hoodlums N40,000 to escape being gang-raped -Resident

by Kunle Falayi

Residents of Mushin area of Lagos are still living in an atmosphere of fear after Sunday's mayhem in which their homes were looted and a man was allegedly killed.

Saturday PUNCH visited the area on Wednesday to see what has changed since the incident, but observed that many of the residents are afraid that the hoodlums who carried out the attack might soon come back as they reportedly promised.

Some of the residents, who told our correspondent their stories, insisted the perpetrators, who they said numbered more than 50, came from Akala Street, Mushin.

Ike Olu Street was the most affected area. There were still remnants of shattered vehicle windscreens, house windows and burnt vehicles on the street when our correspondent visited.

The residents told Saturday PUNCH that the hoodlums went from house to house about 1.30 am on Sunday, robbing, looting shops and smashing cars before fleeing when they noticed police presence.

The looting hoodlums came back after they had initially fled, Saturday PUNCH learnt.

More looting was recorded during their second coming, it was learnt. It was during that period that they reportedly burnt the vehicles they had already smashed.

At least eight vehicles were said to have been burnt down. Our correspondent counted five burnt vehicles that had not been taken away by their owners.

A youth in Fadeyi, Monsuru Olayiwola, who had been reported to be one of the masterminds of the attack, told our correspondent he knew nothing about the matter.

He said, "I read in a newspaper report that I was wielding a pump-action rifle during the mayhem. That is a blatant lie.

"It was a ploy by the criminals responsible to implicate me. I was at Ikorodu overnight during the mayhem and a lot of people can attest to this. I have not been in that particular part of Mushin for three years because of the violence of the youths in the area."

A resident of Fadeyi, Wale Ayodele, told our correspondent that the hoodlums were suspected to comprise area boys and cult members.

He said, "We were very shocked when it was reported that the attack was carried out by youths from Fadeyi. This is not the first time this kind of attack would be blamed on Fadeyi boys by Mushin youths.

"Go to the street where the attacks took place and the residents themselves will tell you where the hoodlums came from."

Tunde, a resident of Ike Olu Street, said the hoodlums announced their presence by shooting and smashing the windos of parked cars.

He said, "They smashed anything in sight and went from house to house, robbing people of cash, telephone sets, televisions, generators and even clothes.

"They destroyed some of the furniture I had been contracted to make for someone. But I fared better than some other people on this street."

But another resident, who identified herself simply as Florence, said she narrowly escaped being gang-raped by about 15 men, who kicked down the door of her apartment.

Florence said, "I have no doubt that the men moving about the street, robbing and attacking people were up to 70 because the ones who came into my room were up to 15. There were other groups in other apartments at the same time.

"They kicked down the door and demanded money and my phones. But I was begging them that I had nothing in the house.

"I thought they would move on to other houses if I told them that. But some of them suddenly pulled down my trousers and wanted to rape me. I started begging and quickly dipped my hand into a place where I had saved N40,000 and handed it to them.

"I begged them to let me go. I told them that was all I had. I was lucky they left after that."

Another resident, who pleaded anonymity, lost his commercial buses to the hoodlums.

He said, "I'm just a mechanic and I have a shop on this street. I'm not a resident of this street. I got to the workshop on Monday morning and saw the burnt carcass of my bus.

"I told the driver to always park the bus in front of my workshop every night. These hoodlums have destroyed a good source of money for me. To add to my woes, I have not finished paying for the bus because I'm paying on an instalment plan."

Our correspondent learnt that a driver with a new generation bank has been arrested in connection with the burning of a vehicle during the mayhem.

The unidentified driver was said to have taken the official vehicle of his boss, a new Toyota Corrolla, home after the close of work the previous Friday.

It was burnt by the hoodlums where he parked it. The burnt car was still on the street when our correspondent visited.

Each of the residents had one thing or another to tell our correspondent, as he moved round the area.

A hairdresser said the door of her shop was kicked down and the hoodlums took away her generator.

A resident, Mrs. Rachael Adepoju, lost her savings and telephone sets to the hoodlums who came into her house, wielding guns, broken bottles and machetes.

Another resident said they threatened to kill two people in her house if she did not hand over her belongings.

A man next door was brutally beaten because he was not fast enough when he was handing over his belongings.

"They are cult members," a resident, Fatai Owolabi, told our correspondent.

"Everybody on this street is aware that there has been a long-standing feud between members of the Eiye Confraternity and .

"I don't know who is accusing who, but we heard that one said the other was responsible for the death of two of its members. Anytime there is a problem, they use the opportunity to loot, rob and unleash mayhem on residents," he said.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that the men responsible for the mayhem were suspected to be those vending hard drugs and Indian hemp in Mushin.

Spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, had on Sunday said some suspects had been apprehended in connection with the case.

It is not clear how far the investigation had gone as Braide's phone line indicated it was switched off when our correspondent contacted her on Wednesday.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said that Lagos and six other states control about 90 per cent of cash transactions in the country. The other states are Rivers, Anambra, Abia, Kano, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

CBN Deputy Governor, Operations, Mr. Tunde Lemo, who disclosed this, said this was the reason why the abovementioned states were been slated for the second phase of the cash-less project billed to kick off on the July 1st. Acknowledging that there have been and there are still challenges with the cashless project, he said most of them are being resolved.

He listed one of the major challenges to include interconnectivity in some of the clusters, which he said is being addressed.

Lemo said that besides the use of alternative channels of transactions such as Point of Sales (PoS), the cashless project would be driven through the telephone. Nigeria is second in number of mobile phone users in sub Saharan Africa after South Africa, which is also the largest economy in the region.

Lemo also said the cashless policy had been successful in Lagos, adding that the number of Point of Sale (PoS) machines in Lagos has increased significantly from about 5,000 when the policy took off last year, to over 150,000.

"We still have a few challenges, but if I look back, I really would say that we have done a lot to transform the payment system in Lagos through PoS," he said.

The cashless policy, whose implementation began in Lagos in January, last year, is aimed at reducing the dominance of cash in the system. The policy specifies penal charges for individuals and corporate organisations that want to withdraw or lodge cash above prescribed limits. Under the policy, the CBN pegged the daily cumulative cash withdrawal or deposit limit for individual accounts at N500,000 per day and N3 million per day for corporate accounts.

Just a week ago, the Chief Executive Officer, Electronic Payment Providers Association of Nigeria (E-PPAN), Mrs. Onajite Regha, said the coming on board on the next phase of the cash-less policy in July may raise the value of electronic funds transfer in the country to N160billion per day by the end of the year.

The E-PPAN boss, who spoke in Lagos, said the current value of electronic fund transfers - put at N80billion per day by the CBN, would most likely double because there would be a lot of changes, which would compel people to use e-Fund transfer channels.

The Nigeria Interbank Settlement System (NIBSS) is handling transactions worth about N20billon daily, while the Nigeria Electronic Funds Transfer is conducting about N60billion worth of transactions daily.

NIBSS provides the infrastructure for automated processing, settlement of payments and fund transfer instructions between banks, discount houses and card companies in Nigeria. It is owned equally by all licensed banks in Nigeria, and the CBN. Discount houses operating in Nigeria also hold substantial shares.

A NEFT payment is an irrevocable fund transfer instruction.

There was confusion in Abeokuta, yesterday, when a – 60 year-old man, Akanni Timothy, allegedly committed suicide only hours to the commencement of his father's funeral. Relations blamed his financial incapacitation to give the late father a befitting burial for the suicide.

The lifeless body of the father of eight, fondly called 'Marshal' was found dangling on an orange tree close to the venue of the funeral in the neighborhood at Ojugunuko, Oke-Ijemo area of Abeokuta. Sunday Vanguard gathered that the body was found by passers-by and raised the alarm which attracted residents. An eye witness told Sunday Vanguard that the deceased was preparing for the funeral slated for yesterday.

A family source said Akanni had hired a disc jokey to entertain his guests at the ceremony.

When the news of his death filtered into the venue, many of the guests who were reported to have settled down for the party hurriedly left.

Some relations wee said to have attributed the incident to the financial challenges facing the late Akanni . However, some other people described the ugly incident as spiritually motivated. One of the siblings of the deceased, who simply identified himself as Mutiu, said his late brother was in dire need of money to give their late father a befitting burial.

He said, "I told Baba Sadiat (the deceased) to join me in my tent if he knew he didn't have the means to entertain his guests. I did not know he will kill himself".

According to him, the family received permission from the police at Ijemo who visited the scene of the incident before they removed the body of the deceased. .

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, could not be reached on his mobile line for confirmation as at the time of this report.

koruji: You mind them.
They don't even tell small lies anymore:
2000 Megawatt plant that is so big it can't be moved by road !!!
You would think a 2000 MW plant is actually just a single machine.

Anyway, it is a lie we have heard before.
Ohakim of Imo State signed his own MOU for a 1000 MW nuclear - yes you read me right, nuclear, plant.
Problem was that the two companies that were going to build this nuclear plant were:
1) A charge and bail law firm in the USA;
2) A side of the road import-export company.

It seems clear why Nigerian leaders just lie with reckless abandon.
Nigerians have no memory of promises, either kept or unkept !!!
Hopefully, you will say the same thing when Fashola makes his own empty promises. Ewu Gambia.
