Supporting Nigeria Against Biafra was our Greatest Mistake — Asari Dokubo Share This Asari Leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari, late this morning spoke about his anguish over the failure by his people to allow the breakaway Republic of Biafra to succeed. Launched in 1967 by the old East under the command of the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Biafra was crushed three years after by the Nigerian Government and its international allies. In a post on his Facebook wall around noon, Dokubo regretted the role played by the then so called eastern minorities in sabotaging Biafra. He also cast his vote for an Igbo or Middle Belt person to succeed President Goodluck Jonathan. The post, which appears to be excerpts of a speech delivered at a meeting of Niger Delta, Igbo and Middle Belt groups, says thus: “Today, if anything will stir me to fight, it is my belief that Biafra was right. When I was growing up, we were told a lot of things to hate Biafra. Maybe some of us were persuaded. But the more I grow up, the more I realize that it was the greatest mistake we made for not allowing Biafra to stand. “You might not feel the pain that I feel, but if an Igbo man does not feel the pain that I feel, I am sorry for him. If an Urhobo man doesn’t feel the pain, I am sorry for him. “What Ojukwu lived and died for, in the coming years, we will see it with our eyes because of the arrogance of a few people that were born to rule, and everybody accepts it. When you want to talk they say leave them alone. Why should I leave them? If you don’t bend your back, nobody will ride you. “For the first time in history, the divide and rule tactics of those who have kept us down failed and the Igbo voted more for President Jonathan than the people of the South-South. “Our gathering today is to bring the gathering of the dispossessed and oppressed people of the Middle Belt, Ndigbo people and the people of the Niger Delta together and we are going to move like a force. “Let nobody be apologetic. What we want is political power. Political power is the key to our development and our dignity, and political power we must own come 2015. If President Jonathan says he is not contesting, we must hold on to the presidency. Either an Igbo man takes it or someone from the Middle Belt, we will continue to hold it.” https://www.facebook.com/mujahid.dokuboasari?fref=ts and also http://thegistarena.com/2013/05/supporting-nigeria-against-biafra-was-our-greatest-mistake-asari-dokubo/

You and your governor are imbeciles. Abia people, very great people I must add, should find you and stone you to death for deceit and propping up this mediocre man you call governor. |
IGBO-SON:There are 1000s of ''Ebosie'' in Igboland but there is only one ''Phil-Ebosie'' family and they are from Onitsha. |
sheyguy: he got his punishment according to the constitution of nigeria so why the SW people protesting? NL as expected. But the same SW people protested for Bode George and did not allow the court to do its duty in the case of Tinubu because they were threatening the peace of the court environment. |
Texas.Cowgirl:Awon Ileke Idi. YOU HAVE TURNED TO A COW NOW, ABI? |
nwando: Whatever judgement he receives,he deserved itBut they protested for bigger thieves, Tinubu and Bode George. Did you not see them in court with placards? |
OsunOriginal: Why should SW Youth protest over the jailing of a ibo thief? A thief is a thief and should be punished... I dont care how hash the punish is. He left SE to come and steal here... Even if they setence him to death, who cares? You see why most people on earth consider Yaribas eternal ignoramuses? You share physical land boundary and political party with Edo state and you do not even know that Ighodalo is a typical Edo name. What else do you know? Can you count 1 to 100 correctly at all? Mumu Your people went to protest for Bode George when he was jailed. Hypocrits |
truth4meal: THE 45 YEARS WILL RUN concurrently and that's like 6 years and some month for a man who stole the phone of a governor and impersonate him by using his name to dupe someone in Ilesha the sum of N500,000.00. If that is not justice then GEJ is sure your mentor. So before you cry 'injustice' arm yourself with the fact. Yorubas are learned people they don't act like goats like youYeah! But Bode George got 2 years and Tinubu got nothing. And, the fact that you CLAIM to be learned does not mean you are learned. Lizards fall off trees and nod their heads in self-recognition. Others will tell you how learned you are, not you telling yourself, especially when the opposite is apparent. |
truth4meal: ODE SINCE YOU KNOW WHAT IS RIGHT WHY CAN'T YOU LEAD THE PROTEST ABI BECAUSE THE ROBBER IS A YORUBA MAN? AND BECAUSE THE COURT WHERE THE JUDGEMENT WAS GIVEN IS A YORUBA COURT ABI? YOU ARE JUST A CONFUSED TRIBALIST AND YOU NEED THE HELP OF A HERBALIST.Omo ole. I am not ACN, I am not Yoruba, I do not live in SW, I have not claimed to champion justice. Why should I do your protest for you? |
cogitoErgo: How many protests have you seen in any part of Nigeria because of what you pointed out? This is Nigeria; East, West or North, we are all the same in this! But SW people always claim to be the champions of protests against injustice. Is it only when it comes to the presidency and fuel increase that they protest? What is more injustice than these double standards |
How could a phone thief get 45 years in jail and Bode George got 2 years? Tinubu got nothing and Lagos Speaker who also stole billions will likely get nothing? And SW youths are not on the street protesting this kangaroo judgement? OR is it because the thief, Kevin Ighodalo, is Edo, and not Yoruba? But EDO is ACN now. Can Oshiomhole and Aregbe work things out here? ![]() |
Myopic Eko ILE: Whether Phil or Favor, Igbo still win, as they are both Igbos. |
eko ilee: Link that states the picture was taken in 2013.Mumu. I should provide a link with my Camera? Are you that daft? |
Lagos for real, 2013
|
eko ilee: I'm 10000000% sure that picture doesn't represent any part of lagos in 2013 hence the fraudulent reason why you didn't support that nonsense with any link. You want link? The yellow Lagos cab is a good link for your blind eyes. |
See why Northern Muslims detest their SW counterparts because they condone and even enjoy obscenities |
This is Lagos 2013
|
Na waoh!! Why should a woman dress like this close to the for-eyed on Tinubu, even with his wife present? Is this why Northern Muslims see SW ones as inferior?
|
Texas.Cowgirl:His face and demeanour tell he is Yoruba. Add that to the name mentioned in the story and you can know that FOR SURE, except for a rabid bigot like yourself. PH has loads of Yoruba people, BTW. |
This Satan of Sokoto thinks he is Satan of Nigeria? Sokoto is only one out of 36 States. He should tell Jonathan to also release all the armed robbers, kidnappers, murderers, rapists and 419ners in all prisons in Nigeria. Stuuuuupid man. |

In a nutshell, what we sought to do is to give our views having regards to our background, our knowledge of various societies, various communities what we think should be done to resolve the crisis and ensure sustainable peace in the country. The issue of amnesty came up, it formed part of the strategies we are recommending but of course it has to be done properly with better appreciation of the situation rather than haphazardly which people think should be the case. Police nab Port Harcourt cultist • Multi-million naira mansion uncovered By DIPO KEHINDE Wednesday, March 20, 2013 •Afolabi Adebayo Photo: Sun News Publishing More Stories on This Section Detectives investigating a fraud case at the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Ikoyi, Lagos have blown the cover of a 28-year-old Port Harcourt-based suspected cultist, who built a multi-million naira mansion that serves as his hideout in the Ojodu area of Lagos State. Confirming the suspicion of the Inspector General of Police that some outlaws, who have turned the Garden City into hell are from other states, the suspect who identified himself as Afolabi Adebayo, confessed to Daily Sun that his marauding gang operates in Port Harcourt and runs to Lagos to relax after making a hit. Adebayo, who rides an automatic Cherokee Jeep marked HZ 892 AAA, confessed that he has made millions, even though he never had a visible means of livelihood. Although he only described himself as "a local occultist," who also obtains money under false pretences, police believe there is more to Adebayo than meets the eye. Wondering how he came about his fabulous wealth, the police are working on the theory that Adebayo could be a bank robber or one of the abductors who have been taking hostages and demanding ransom for their freedom. When he was interviewed, Adebayo told Daily Sun: "I’m a local occultist. I also do 419 and I have an office in Port Harcourt with some boys working for me." He claimed to have bought the plot on which he built the mansion for N2.8 million, insisting that he made his millions by curing people with back pains and helping those who wanted to be sexually virile. Each time he was asked about members of his group or their whereabouts, he shivered and said: "Oh, I’m finished, please help me." Adebayo, a native of Ikere town in Ekiti State, who said he was a fraudster, later confessed that the man who brought him into a dreaded cult group in Port Harcourt had died and he could not give the address of any member of the group, although he mentioned some names and said that whenever they had a job to do they made contacts on phone. According to the Commissioner of Police at SFU, Mr Olayiwola Balogun, detectives were investigating a fraud case after receiving a petition from a woman who claimed that Adebayo duped her, when they stumbled on the other side of the suspect. The police also recovered from Adebayo a Honda car and they have begun a bigger probe into the background of the suspect who did not have more than secondary school education.
