Also from Osun Defender I charm people, take their money – Pick pocket AKINOLA WALE AKINOLA THE SUNONLINE – The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Rivers State has arrested 35-year old Wale Akinola, who specialized in picking pockets of passengers on board commercial buses in Port Harcourt. The suspect, who has confessed to the crime, told the police that he use charms to dispossess passengers of their money, without them knowing it. Speaking with Sunday Sun, Akinola who was a furniture maker said he made easy money from the crime and lived luxuriously until his arrest by the police. “I spent over one year living in a guest house. I was enjoying myself as I made between N8,000 and N10,000 daily. It was when the policemen came to raid the hotel that I was arrested. I have confessed to them that I am a professional in pick pocket. When they interrogated me, I told them that I didn’t use gun, but I only used charms,” he said. Akinola said he abandoned his furniture business when he was issued a quit notice by the landlord of his shop. “I had nothing doing and I had to look for what to survive on. It was one of my friends, Kingsley Okoro who taught me this pick pocket business. I followed him for sometime before I was able to master the business properly,” he added. On how he operated without being caught initially, Akinola, a native of Ayede Local Government Area of Ekiti State, explained “I usually take a bus going to Rumuola or Eleme Junction. I would sit beside the passengers. I would strike when the bus enters a pothole. Then I would pull the money from their pockets as the bus swerved from side to side. The money would come out easily. Afterwards, I would alight at Aba Road in Port Harcourt. “I wake up as early as 6:30am daily and then I go from one bus to another. Sometimes, I follow them to the last bus stop. Later, I would join another bus carrying passengers. My prime targets are new comers to the city. It’s very easy to rob them. I don’t close until about 5:00pm”. Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Joseph Mbu told Sunday Sun that they had received several complaints from the public about a particular gang which specialized in picking pockets around that axis of the city. “I had to order the commander of SARS, Supol Tunji Disu (CSP) with his team to pursue the case. They then swung into action and with top information, raided the hotel where the suspect had camped himself for a year. That was where he lodged after each day’s business,” Mbu said. The CP assured that the suspect would soon be charged to a court of law. Short URL: http://www.osundefender.org/?p=143266 |

funnyx: How can Yoruba hate APGA? How can a party that has no structure in Yorubaland win an election there? How many election has APGA won even in igboland?Likewise APC has no structure in Igboland hence Ngige lost in a state-wide election. He may have won the senate because that was narrower contest, just for his zone of the state. Remember that Okorocha did not win under APC (ACN); he is a decampee. |
nnenna.1:Indeed he won under ACN (now APC) but a senator is not that important in the scheme of things unless he is the senate president. Come to think of it, That he won a senate seat under ACN, together with Tony One Week, shows that Igbos are actually more receptive to APC/ACN than Yorubas are receptive to APGA |
double post |
Ngwakwe: How can the Op be brandishing the word "Hate" as if it's what's happening? If it makes you glad, I have substituted hate with resentment. Sure you get the crux of the thread. There is absolutely no love lost between these people and the representative political parties. We should not pretend otherwise. |
Orlando Owoh: Just in the space of 24 hours I now know how illogical your points are. Which party between APC and ACN is more Yoruba. Get your head examined.Do you mind answering why you hate APGA instead of this your cheap shot at another poster? |
Why Do Yorubas Resent APGA? Why Do Igbos Resent APC? This is a cogent question that we need to start addressing if we are ever going to build an all inclusive Nigeria No APGA candidate has ever won an election in SW despite having contest there many times in the past. It seems the case also for APC in SE at least at the gubernatorial level. Remember Okorocha, but not Ngige, did not win his respective positions via APC; he decamped to it after winning election in APGA. And Okorocha's position in terms of re-election is now very shaky because he likely will be booted out in 2015. Discussions are already underway to that effect. |

So I caught up with Ngige immediately after Obiano was declared winner and met him crying inconsolably. I commiserated with him and asked him why he was crying. I hinted that politics is not a do or die thing and he should move on to other things and wait for his time to strike again. He told me he was not necessarily crying because he lost but because he now has a debt of 2 billion Naira to pay to Tinubu, Fasola, Aregbesola and Okorocha from his own pocket. He said winning was the condition for the loans they gave him. Can we help raise funds for Ngige to pay Tinubu and co?

AtlanticBreeze: what does it matter? How many houses do you have here?Fake Anambra man ![]() |
AtlanticBreeze: Its a shame APGA has to massively rig election in order to struggle to 'win' a yoruba party in igboland. APGA supporters should be ashamed of themselves. APGA is no igbo party. As an igbo man, I disassociate myself from APGA. APGA can't even put up a challenge to APC in yorubaland. We can all agree Ngige dominant factor in Anambra and will always thrash the crook, Peter obi in a credible poll.So you agree that APC is a Yoruba party. Thanks for that. So what is a Yoruba party doing in Igboland? |
Lol I go die oh!! APC is chopping shyytee, deservedly |
AtlanticBreeze: I'm from Anambra but the illiteracy, there is low. Thanks for scoring an own goal, although you are not from Anambra contrary to your FALSE claim. That illiteracy is low in Anambra is very true. |
OsunOriginal: Igbos, they are still far away from civilisation...APGA governor for Lagos in 2015 |
cKaiser: We want Ibos to follow APC so their regions too would be developed.Which of your region is developed? |
Can we get an answer to this question? |
AtlanticBreeze: Never in the history of Nigeria has an election been this massively flawed. Peter Obi came in through the courts and his successor must come through the courts. And may God punish anybody that accuses Ngige of rigging before and turns around to support this sham. Btw, the illiteracy level in Anambra is high.See this dirty Yorubaman getting more concerned with an Igbo election than Igbos themselves. You can give Ngige the governorship position in Osun or Lagos. After all Igbos own 50% of Lagos. |
geeez: Whoever hid my post has a problemYeah!! Soon all those Yoruba oil workers, taxi drivers and agbo sellers in the East will be swept out with your smelly broom. BS. |
There is an upcoming election in Osun. In the manner that the smelly broom (APC) people invaded the land of the big strong co/ck (APGA) in the last election to rig the outcome, the broom land should be invaded as well by the cock people so that a non-APC man becomes governor in Osun. APC has been routed; let's move on with that routing spirit to help remove and inter the mullah Aregbesola from power. Sanity must be restored in Osun |
