maryjames9: A Professor and Geologist has this to say as a comment about FG-ASUU saga___
Even in ASUU, this is the worst leadership I have seen in 25years in the university. Both government and ASUU are not sincere on university education in Nigeria. I have not seen any intellectualism in the attitude of both government and ASUU. I will touch little things that doesn't make sense; why is ASUU on strike now? It is because of IPPIS and after losing out on that they shifted the goalpost to "revitalization of universities" which is very unrealistic. Why would a sensible person declare strike during coronavirus global confusion? Where is the much acclaimed knowledge? This strike was never voted for at individual branches as usual but truncated by the ASUU NEC. It never happened this way before. The IPPIS unveiled an unbelievable number of ghost workers in the university payroll whole the former gifmis payroll that ASUU preferred accommodated all those ghost workers. So the complain about IPPIS is baseless and unfounded. Why would a professor be allow to visit more than two universities in a month? How would he cover the contact hours and quality delivery to students if he has to visit three, four, five and etc universities? All for money. Who are then killing the university education from within? Why would this malpractice be allow simply because it is ASUU. Respect should be earn through honesty. What is revitalization? Who will source over N1 trillion naira and throw it to universities for unspecified projects and look the other way? This will never happen. How many universities judiciously utilized the money given by President Goodluck Jonathan for Needs Assessment Projects? Infact you will see better projects in State Universities than federal universities. Why is ASUU silent about this? Who actually benefits from major projects? University Management and Union officials as supervisors but not lecturers. TETFUND is doing good in their intervention projects in all universities, so why this revitalization again? Why is ASUU drifting away from sourcing welfare of its members and targeting revitalization? Are they fighting for its members of universities management? As it is now, majority of ASUU member have gone to Abuja and enrolled for the IPPIS because the deception is too much. No government in the history of Nigeria is interested in education, so only sincerity of purpose, honesty and transparency in side of ASUU would defeat them and not stupid pride and propaganda. If Nigerian Universities are winning research grants and do the research, they would have solve their problems and earn more respect. Does it take new laboratory or office to put up an application for a good research? If ASUU had being encouraging good research, things would not have being this bad. You cannot help a politicians to rig elections and expect them to respect you.
*Copied* Hmmmm! I knew many ASUU members would go for the IPPIS capturing because no be all of them be professor and hunger is REAL |

the matter on ground is like two elephants fighting. it's the grass under them that will suffer.
with the look of things, I'm suggesting we should go to all ASUU social handles and beg them to resume while they keep negotiating with the FG. I know ASUU are not heartless and some if their children too are among us.
we will beg them to look at we the youth that the strike is affecting so much. some of our friends in state unis and poly have resumed and we are still at home. there's no age by our side and education is hindering many good things we are expecting.
we can also make it trend the way #ENDSarz is everywhere.
I pray it yield good result.
God bless you all. |

women are fragile and they are not meant to be hustling like men. all parts of their body are unclothedness that's why the prophet(peace be upon him) said "if a woman is facing you, it's as if devil is facing you and if she turns her back to you, it's as if devil is facing you also ( A woman can tempt a man with both back and front) and if anyone of you is tempted by any woman, let him go and meet his wife."
the question now is that, what if the woman too is a workaholic like her husband what will happen to the man in this situation? (we all know who will fall victim las las)
Islam is a religion that teaches husbands and wives lessons to safeguard their marriages(unless you don't know).
it's this that you guys are seeing, there are rights that a wife has over her husband too but you don't know that. |
Education › IPPIS: ASUU Replies President Buhari On Salary Payment by Ramsey19(op): 9:48am On Oct 09, 2020 |
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari was not addressing its members when he declared that only those on the IPPIS platform will get their salary. This position was made known by ASUU National President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi in his reaction to earlier reports that President Buhari has declared that lecturers not captured on the IPPIS platform won’t get their salaries. It will be recalled that Naija News earlier reported that President Buhari had on Thursday while speaking during the presentation of the 2021 National budget estimates to a joint sitting of the National Assembly, stated that only lecturers captured on the IPPIS platform will be paid their salary. IPPIS – Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) is a centralized payroll platform introduced by the Federal Government which it says will help it monitor and block leakages in the payment of salaries and wages. However, the leadership of ASUU has rejected the migration of its members to the platform. It also went ahead to recommend an alternative to the government called Universities Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS). Therefore, Prof. Ogunyemi noted on Thursday that he is sure the President’s statement during the budget presentation was not targetted at ASUU members. "I don’t think that statement was really meant to upset ASUU. We have been at a meeting with Mr President, where we presented that same issue and we left that meeting the understanding that what we believe is better than IPPIS should be appropriate,” Ogunyemi told Tribune in a telephone interview. He added that they already presented an alternative to the government which is under, noting that he believes President Buhari was talking about not paying money to those who do not exist “but our members are in existence and we reached an understanding with the government that an alternative to IPPIS would be accepted" https://www./2020/10/09/ippis-ASUU-replies-president-buhari-on-salary-payment/amp/ |

Never give up on something you want because it's hard to wait but it's harder to regret. if studying medicine is your dream, age shouldn't be barrier but u will need to study very hard. I would advice u to also take school of nursing form too so that if medicine doesn't work, u will go for nursing to avoid another wasting of time and nursing too is a good course. |

Health › Buhari Could Import Madagascar's 'herbal Cure' For Coronavirus by Ramsey19(op): 10:32pm On Apr 29, 2020 |
The Presidential Task Force on COVID19 says it will do anything to ease the strain of the coronavirus outbreak on Nigerians. The chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID19, Boss Mustapha, says the country is exploring every avenue to fight the coronavirus disease, including asking President Muhammadu Buhari to import a planeload of herbal tea touted as a cure by the government of Madagascar. Madagascar's President Andry Rajoelina launched the herbal tea, named COVID-Organics, last week, claiming that it has cured two people already. The government started handing out the herbal tea for free to citizens last week, even though the country's national medical academy has warned that no scientific evidence has been established that it works. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has also warned against the widespread use of untested remedies. While speaking during the PTF's media briefing on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, Mustapha said the task force is keeping tabs on everything happening regarding the coronavirus across the world. "I was reading of the experiences in Madagascar of why everybody is drinking some solutions that have been prepared. "This morning I was sharing with my wife and I told her that probably I'll request Mr President to allow us import a planeload for a trial. "We're all navigating uncharted course. Nobody has ever been on this road," the Secretary to the Government of the Federation said. |

Travel › Re: How Did You Obtain Your Permanent Residency In Your Current Country? by Ramsey19: 12:43am On Apr 20, 2020 |
RuudVanNisteroy: You qualify under NOC B and meet the employment requirement . I recommend you apply as a landed immigrant, instead of applying for a student visa. Before you apply try and save at least N3.5M in your bank account, which is the minimum requirement. If you get your sponsor to transfer the money to you account they will know a big deposit was recently deposited and will likely be transferred back.
If you choose to go the student route, then you need to present documents that show your sponsor has the funds to take care of your tuition and living expenses. You will have a better chance if your sponsor is a relative or if you can get an official letter from your company saying they will sponsor you.
Do you work for a reputable company your length of employment and salary can be easily verified?Forgery of documents is an issue they have to deal with, if you work for a reputable company they can easily verify your the information, you will have a better chance. OK sir, thanks. God bless you. |

RuudVanNisteroy: There are several legal pathways for Nigerians to obtain permanent residency in Europe,Asia,Africa,South America,Australia and North America .Here are six ways to obtain legal stay:
-Work permit-Permanent residency -Asylum -Graduate student-permanent residency -Marriage -Landed immigrant -Citizenship by Investment
I was able to get my permanent residency through the student route in Canada. I graduated and had to obtain 1 year of work experience before I was able to file for permanent residence.
Living illegally in any country can make your life a living hell and you will always be looking over your shoulders and subject to blackmail when you find jobs that pay under the table.
It is important to choose a country which makes obtaining a permanent residency easy for foreigners. And not make the mistake of spending millions of naira on countries that like to do chop and clean mouth with your tuition and other money you invested in the country, only to make it near impossible to obtain legal papers to stay there permanently. The two countries that are most friendly to immigration currently are Canada and Australia, unfortunately they are out of reach financially for most people intending to migrate and have stricter requirements.. I'm a final year Accounting student and chartered Accountant [with years of experience] that want to leave Nigeria after NYSC. I'm thinking of either Canada or Australia. what advice do you have for me sir? based on the fund issue, what if I have sponsor in the country I'm going to, or sponsored by company or my sponsorer transfer money to my account? |

Family › Doctors' Spouses How Are You Coping This Period? by Ramsey19(op): 11:02pm On Apr 19, 2020 |
Since the outbreak of this pandemic virus, most doctors have been spending more time at work than they do with their family. someone told me some days ago that FGN is paying them well. but I think they even deserve more than their current earnings and allowances if possible.
my question is, how are their families coping without them? especially the married ones among them. because I'm thinking it won't be easy for the husband of a female doctor at duty to be taking care of babies and home these days. even if she goes home, the fear of COVID-19 may discourage her husband from moving close to her.
the wives of male doctors too, how are you coping without your husbands at home at this period?
And do they give those doctors break to see their families? |

this is a rubbish of the highest order. what you don't know is that; even if jesus come back what he will use is the Quran and he will worship as Muslims worship. e.g
-Matthew 26:39 Jesus worship God with his face to the ground -Genesis 17:3 Abraham worship God with his face to the ground -Nehemiah 8:4-6 with lifting up their hands and they bowed their heads and worship God with their faces to the ground -Exodus 24:9-10 Moses worship God with his face to the ground -Numbers 20:6 Moses and Aaron worship God with their faces to the ground -Joshua 5:14 Joshua worship God with his face to the ground -Revelation 7:11 even the Angels.
my questions. 1.) where did the word Christianity came from? 2.) where did Christianity mode if worship from? 3.) if u missed service on Sunday, how will u worship your God after service? 4.) did Jesus go to church on Sunday? 5.) which church did Jesus go? |
