Christianity Etc › Re: What Is Islamophobia? by Ranchhoddas: 8:32pm On Jan 26, 2017 |
alBHAGDADI: Islamophobia is a word i hear almost everyday now, on the streets and in the news (mostly CNN, BBC and Aljazeera). Before we go into the meaning of Islamophobia, we have to first of all consider the fact that the word is a combination of 2 words- Islam and Phobia. We all know what Islam is, they call it a religion of peace. Phobia, on the other hand, means a fear of something
If am afraid of heights, I can say i have a phobia for heights. This means that i will always ensure that i stay off high grounds. If it is a fear of driving i have, i can say i have phobia for driving. This means that i will avoid ever driving.
To musims, Islamophobia means a fear of Islam, while Islamophobe is a person who has fear of islam in him. That is the name Muslims love to call anyone who speaks or criticizes islam genuinely. I believe they are using the word wrongly. If i say that I have a phobia for heights and am seen smiling while jumping off a flying helicopter with a parachute, can anyone believe that i have such phobia? No. Since Islamophobia is a fear of Islam, if i criticize Islam and someone calls me an islamophobe, the person needs to check himself for using the word wrongly. How can you call someone that challenges Islam an Islamophobe?
I believe the word Islamophobe should only be used on people who cant speak up against Islam's terrorism and backward ways due to fear of being beheaded or persecuted, not people who are bold enough and show no fear in challenging it Your definition is incomplete. A phobia is defined as an irrational fear or AVERSION to something.
So you see, the word 'Islamophobe' fits you perfectly. |

holuhsheun: D problem I have with some people is that, they r trying every means to refute Christianity all because of their evil act which God promise to judge. n dey felt that if they can amass people to ignore n criticize Christianity dey ll find d joy dey r looking for, (i bet u'll never find) which u can never have except dey repent n gve their life to jesus.. (the truth exist no matter how or what u felt) Come to think of it. how will u measure morality if deres no jesus n on what basis will d unjust and d just man be weighed who's responsible for forgiveness of our past sin if we actually want to turn a new leave(d government or who?). Which religion actually touch morality to the extent of our intents. You'll rather be looking for a trust Worthy person to do work for u Dan for u to be a trustworthy person. We'll let me add DS to it God ll nt only bring all your works to judgement but hell awaits you except u repent How were we measuring morality before Jesus? Were we all immoral before the slave traders crossed the Atlantic? |

hopefulLandlord: not just a lot of porn but Nigerians are top ten in gay and lesbian porn searches in the world
a also disagree with Analice107's assertion that sexual immorality is the hardest to overcome although I'll admit its up there
the biggest sin to overcome in Nigeria is the temptation to be corrupt, when you have sex to a particular point you find out there's really nothing new , I know this from experience
I'll also admit that I've met several Christians over the years who have conquered sexual immortality as far as I can see
corruption however is endemic that almost every Nigerian Christian supports it one way or the other
corruption is actually not the problem but HYPOCRISY
I've never met a corruption free Christian, I'm not denying that there may not be one but I've never met one who after scratching the pristine external surface, getting close enough to them that one has to see them for who they are is not corrupt in one way or another especially when we have business dealings
why I say HYPOCRISY is the hardest is that these Christians have a way of defending their version of "corruption" by whitewashing it and have successfully deluded themselves into thinking what they're doing isn't corruption per say but .................................. fill that gap with the senseless defense they have
basically, they say "I gave the Police N200 so that they'll let me go, I'm late for the meeting and I'll lose a lot more than N200, so its not corruption"
corruption becomes what they "define" it to be
this hypocrisy extends to several other bad behaviours but the hypocritical view of corruption is the one I've seen in 97% of Christians I know on the surface and 100% of Christians I get close to
let me reiterate that I've NOT met a Christian that isn't involved in corruption one way or another, they usually give a pristine appearance but their corruption shines through when you get close enough Word perfect. Corruption na way of life for Naija and Nigerians have learnt how to justify their numerous acts of corruption. You are regarded as the foolish one if you elect to do otherwise. My new year's resolution is to be corrupt. I just haven't figured out how to go about it yet. Suffer don tire me. |

analice107: Not just in the North. Here where it's believed that almost everyone is a Christian, try being a clean and clear Christian who will not contribute in petty gossips. Who works in an office where pranks are played to make money, but you come out saying "Am a Christian, i can't do it". Try telling the truth no matter what happens. In the midst of your friends who are always talking about their sexual escapades but you are saying, " Fornication is a sin".
Just try being Christ like and see persecution amongst the same people who also go to church like you.
Without words, your way of life judges them and you are hated for it. Your friends cutting off because you preach too much.
When i was in Uni, my friends called me "Mary mother of Jesus" in a disparaging manner, with the hope that i'd feel its a bad thing and join them.
On the 11 of this month, a friend called me to bring my Company's details to quote for a job in a Federal government Parastatal, only, the contract will not be executed. When the money has been disbossed into our accounts, we are to return 2.5million to the Ogas who signed the contract and keep 500k for myself. three Million as a whole.
This friend told me to come with as many friends as possible, as this was going on, some friends got to hear about the deal and were very interested.
When i was left alone, i discovered the Holy Spirit had withdrawn and i lost my peace. I began enquiring. What happened? Did i do something or say something wrong? Why have i all of sudden lost my peace?
He spoke and said " For every labour, there's profit, but this profit you are about to make, Where is the labour?.
What ??. Although i knew what the deal was all about, but i didn't see it as me stealing anything. But when the Lord spoke thus, and i also called 4everGod a friend from here, and he said, "Walk away, that is stealing". I called my friends and told them i wasn't interested any longer.
Why, they asked, i said, "The deal is stealing and God is against stealing".
High government officials are using people's company names to steal from the government, and i won't help them
My dear some of them are still not talking to me till now.
Why? They were to come under my company to make this free 500k without breaking a sweat.
Now, my friends hate me. Meanwhile, i need that money baaaad.
With two companies, i would have come out with 1m, stressless. But, No. This is what Christianity is, not church attendance. Where are the guys? Give me their phone number, I need that money. |

annunaki2: He might not be a Muslim but he is definitely a Muslim apologist. If don't know this, then you are the bigger fool. Zombie. Obama is black, so he understands what it is to be part of a minority group that is discriminated against. When Mandela died, I remember him saying that the first political activity he was involved in was protest against the Apartheid government. Is it out of the ordinary that a person who has this background would be sympathetic to the plight of a minority who are constantly been targeted because of the actions of a few elements within their ranks?
Christians possess an irrational level of persecution complex; when that is combined with your own level of Islamophobia, common sense becomes elusive. |

annunaki2: Very daft analogy as expected of a typical hateist. Al taquiya muslims have been known to do un Islamic things to gain the trust of kafirs and use this trust against them. Some of the 911 hijackers used to drink regularly in pubs whilst they were training in preparation for their demonic 911 attacks. Deception is a core doctrine in Islam and they will go to any extent(including denying allah) if they believe it will further the cause of islam. You are a fool if you actually believe Obama is Muslim. |

One thing is sure, the firstfruits are already sealed. The living are now waiting for the dead to rise up at the final trump, as Paul said...we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep... 1Thessalonians 4:15
