bennyann: Heiii, Ranchhodda s my friend, I hail you. What do you mean tricking yourself into believing? Nah wa for you oooo
First of all, it's good you didn't succeed in TRICKING yourself because it would have still given you the same results as you have now already.
To have a personal relationship with God, it's just like your relationship with the one you love, treasure or trust. You talk to them in any available moment and get to know them better. You relate with them in the good times and bad times and still be there for them. You encourage each other, learn from each other and help each other to prove that love or trust.
Having a personal relationship with God means including Him in your daily life, in everything about you. You treat Him like a person and not a thing. He has feelings, He wants to be closer to you and know you're always conscious of Him.
It should get to a level where you can talk to Him and also hear from Him. Some read the Bible and hear nothing from God, they only see the letters but when you have that relationship with God, you'll get to hear from Him in a way you've never done in His word, He even gets to speak to you through other means also. You get to hear His voice and direction through different events in your life.
It's not only talking to God or remembering Him because it's time to or you need help, but by relating with Him as if He is a part of you and then you should be able to hear from Him also.
When you include Him in all your activities, It makes it easier for Him to interfere in anything that concerns you. Because you would be treating Him like a Person and not like a thing or a tool you only use when you need help.
God has feelings bro. He created us for a relationship and not to ignore Him.
I pray in the mighty name of Jesus you will come to know the only true God, who is your maker, who is the truth and the only way and by the time you know Him, you'll never be confused again, neither will you look back. I also pray you'll be among those to have a unique personal relationship with God, your maker in Jesus name! Amen My dear Bennyann, I don't think I have the kind of relationship you have described with any human. Why would I want to have it with someone that is invisible?
I assume that you have a relationship of this nature with God, how is the sound of His voice? What do you guys talk about? Why have you not asked Him the many questions that atheists ask here daily? This is because I imagine that I would have a whole lot of questions if I had the opportunity of chatting with God. Or do you not think that those answers would go a long way in convincing doubters instead of the incessant preachings?
I appreciate your prayers and say a loud AMEN to them. Greetings!! |

analice107: Hey Muslim, have you asked why Muhammed prohibited pigs? Now let me tell you why.
Muhammed was possessed with a demon which almost killed him by strangling.
Do you remember wen he almost committed suicide because he couldn't live to be called a demoniac?
His sugar Mummy Kadijah took him to consult a babalawo by name Waraqa Bin Nawal who was also her uncle.
Who was Waraqa? you'd ask. Waraqa was Muhammad's contemporary, a Catholic convert from Arabian idol worship who did not see it fit to leave idolatry completely, so he doubled as a Catholic and a Soothsayer. He was the first person to Translate the New Testament Bible from Latin to Arabic.
This was the Soothsayer who soothed Muhammad's fears by telling him he was visited by God and that God in the Bible was always sending his Angels to his prophets. Waraqa was the one who named the Jinn which tormented muhammed Jibril (Gabriel). E clear you now?
Later, Waraqa Bin Nawal, read to him from the New Testament about the incident of Jesus Christ casting demons into Pigs, Muhammed on hearing that, got so scared that he never wanted to do anything with pigs ever.
He thought every pig still has the demons Jesus cast into them in Judea. Hence, he commanded all his followers to stay clear from Pigs.
funny enough, Muslims don't even research why they hate pigs.
Some people enh. Your knowledge of Islam is impressive. |

sonmvayina: thats the part i dont get?...how do you have a personal relationship with God? Do you have se.x, go to the movies, go for dates,..attend social function together like naming ceremony or burial ceremonies...cos i have a personal relationship with my wife and these are the things we do together.. This was always the deal breaker for me whenever I attempted Christianity. I never succeeded in tricking myself into believing that I had a personal relationship with God. I wonder how they do it. |

Lady39: So u say, "I'm not Nigerian per se." Oh sir...u could've stated it like this: "Since u weren't raised in Nigeria, u may not be as knowledgeable about wizards & witches...but this is what it means"... See sir, something like that would've been nicer don't u think Lol..It's okay though. I know u meant no harm. I'm not fully Nigerian but the law of DNA says that I have 50% of each parent's genes...sooo that means through my dad's Igbo blood... Oh..I have seen several Nigerian movies..(.moreso comedy & drama)mainly because I wanted to see how Nigerian movies are & to read the opening & ending credits to learn how to pronounce the names. My dad would be right there trying to make sure I pronounced them right. So at least I can recognize most Igbo names. My dad loves John Okafor , Nkem Owoh & the two dwarfs or little people..one's name is Chinedu I think. But I do not like superstitious movies. I don't like the witch and wizard movies. Oh. Point taken.
The two dwarves are Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme. |

Masturbation is actually worse than fornication in that it is actually a practice of having sex with demons It has worse spiritual consequences than fornication. Masturbation opens up a portal for spirit husbands and wives to invade people's lives, . Lol. There is no shred of evidence for this is there? |

sonofluc1fer: Oh I've been in such a situation. It was a horrible one that lasted about sixteen months. During this crisis of unfaith, I felt a stirring within for a higher calling. It was sort of a spiritual erection; deep calling to dip.. Friends adviced me to call on Yahweh for salvation, but all I saw was the corpse of a Jewish carpenter..
Then I saw a mirror appear, and as I looked upon my reflection, I recognized my Savior. I was free, always have been. Now my spirit flies like an eagle above Mt. Kiliminajaro, the brighter light my guide, the earth my footstool. Jesus' blood aint worth a farthing to me.. Id rather call 911. Epic man! And when you successfully navigate your crises without any deity, you'd never see the need for them again. |

Alphanancy: It depends on you. The time factor must be deemphasized. Once you begin to think in the context of duration, you give room to doubts and fear sets in. Everything is in the now. That is why the op says you must feel it. But i must say that you will need time to adjust to this reality. The best way to begin is to start with little things. When they manifest it will strengthen your believing capacity. Wow! Do you have life examples that you can share? |
Christianity Etc › Re: How To Truly Achieve Your Preferred Miracles by Ranchhoddas: 9:21pm On Jan 14, 2017 |
ifenes: Once you acknowledge and starting feeling what you desire, allow it to happen naturally. Then you will start experience gradual manifestations. Basically you are shifting from the Earth where you lack that thing to an Earth where you have it.
It could even be a person trying to stop a habit. The saying that " If any man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things have passed away and all become new" is a typical teaching of Manifestation. The term "Christ"is a person who is aligned with his/her true self. So once in that vortex, you can easily speed up Manifestation. Old things have passed away ( the old reality) and all has become new( the new one) So be yourself, love yourself, see fear as a mechanism to readjust your belief, and enjoy a beautiful life. I see. Thanks. |

Russia and other former communist states have now so many religious people . You just cannot help involving communism in this discuss can you? We are discussing the Nobel Prize so don't get it twisted.
The fact is that atheists still achieve a lot in spite of their 'insignificant' population |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Car: Another Look At Religious Thinking by Ranchhoddas: 3:32pm On Jan 14, 2017 |
Lennycool: Your tactic is just down right deceitful, you are trying to circumvent logic to aid your views as usual. First of all the atheist population of today cannot be compared to those at the time of the Nobel prize's inception. Meaning: you're comparing atheist population today to account for an award that started way back in early 1900's a period of time known for it's high Christian population in the western world, where "coincidentally" most of the scientific research were carried out, since the eastern nations were still developing.
And to piss you off more just because I can. Accounting for their population size Jews have won more Nobel prizes than christians. Jews have won 20% of Nobel prizes although their population has never surpassed 100 million compared to Christianity's mammoth population. Your illogical tactic has failed. Need I say more?
That guy goes for whatever statistic that favours him at a any given point in time. He has said it severally that atheists are an insignificant part of the world's population. But when it comes to the Nobel Prize, the number of atheists in the world starts to skyrocket. |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Car: Another Look At Religious Thinking by Ranchhoddas: 2:26pm On Jan 14, 2017 |
KingEbukaNaija: "Religious thinking" gave rise to 89 percent of Nobel Laureates and Christianity owns 65.4 percent of Nobel Laureates .
Who exactly is to be mocked ? What a daft comment!
Religious people are in the majority so they must dominate most if not all spheres of endeavour. Religious people would naturally also constitute the highest number of rapists, thieves, embezzlers, and all other categories of criminals. The fact that non-religious people can take up to 11% of Nobel Laureates(that's if your figures are even correct as I know you have included people like Einstein in your statistics) is proof that non-religiousity correlates with intelligence. |

RosaConsidine: I've seen one or two people here suggest surgery as a way to fix this "problem". However, I think that solution may imply certain other things that don't do religious beliefs a lot of favors. Unlike a lot of surgeries performed everyday gender assignment (not reassignment) procedures are carried out to "fix a problem" the person was born with. Now here's the not-so-great implication - isn't that implying that God makes mistakes? That by saying "oh, this one didn't come out quite right. Let's" correct" this issue." Imagine you bought a brand new car, and, when you get home, you discover that the glove compartment is a microwave oven. Now no other model of the car that you or anyone knows of has a microwave oven as a glove compartment. The people that sold you the car (brand new, remember from the company's dealership) did not tell you anything about a microwave glove compartment. Now if you take it to a garage for them to remove the microwave oven and fix a regular glovebox, aren't you perhaps implying that the manufacturer made a mistake by giving you a microwave glovebox? Now if we're going by this assumption that God does make mistakes, on what grounds can we oppose transgender people who say they are psycho-anatomic hermaphrodites in the sense that the have one the sex organs of one sex but they feel like the opposite sex on the inside. What defense would we have if they claim to be one of God's mistakes that they also wish to to correct by gender reassignment surgery?
If, on the other hand, we insist that God does not make mistakes and hermaphrodites are exactly the way he created them, on what grounds do we disparage homosexuals who claim to be born with a natural attraction to people of their same sex? I mean, if God could create hermaphrodites (who we human beings consider to be abnormal), who is to then say he didn't or can't also have created homosexuals (who we also think are abnormal)? Simple answer: The writers of the Bible did not envisage this conundrum; hence it's not an infallible manual for life. |

There is a prevalent belief that diabolical forces(witches and wizards) are out to retaard or even halt a person's progress and these forces are believed to be majorly domiciled in villages. This is why he's afraid.
