hopefulLandlord: Am I the only one that noticed the last Christian that joined this conversation suffers from a severe and untreatable case of delusion of grandeur?
he seems not to pass up any opportunity to say how intelligent he is, how rich he is, how no serious person shouldn't take Nairaland religious debates seriously but debates from page 0-12+ pages almost every thread
all he's done on this thread so far is give nonexistent victory to his goons Be nice!! |

4everGod: I suppose you have been blind to the antics of atheists here on NL and how they exhaust all the fallacies known to man in order to continue an argument. With all the english language that has been applied in a simple explanatory manner and then the very next comment would be
"I think you are confused" or "rubbish" or "Why are you dodging the question" or "You must think we are foolish if you feel this is how it happened" etc
Rancho i know you have a new year resolution which you are beginning to act out. Enjoy it but as far as i know only an honest soul can admit to error or ignorance in a debate but a dishonest one will simply call you dishonest even when they are the dishonest one. NL holds no value to serious minded people who see beyond its farcade. A place where i can hide and be telling someone else to leave his trust and confidence and join me when even my family do not know my real identity as an atheist.
A place where anyone can open their mouths and insult people who they are yet to sniff the intellectual air those people have sniffed. A place where we have more pretenders than realists. A place where lies flow like water which has broken free from its dam and everyone is invited to come and swim in the same river of lies. A place where people call my belief imaginary yet they write epistles against my "imaginary" belief and call my God all sorts of terrible things but still insist He is "imaginary". Then indeed i wonder what serious minded person would take it seriously. With respect, your comment is filled with strawmen, red herrings, ad homimens, and all other things that I wonder if we are still talking about contradictions or something else.
You strike me as a very emotional individual.
I haven't made any new year resolutions. |

4everGod: He does not need to see anything to a logical conclussion. We have been down this road too many times and tomorrow another atheists will rehash the same argument as if we theists have nothing better to do with our time. This is why i urge you DoctorAlien to stop arguing with these guys.
If they really seek Knowledge then they know where to find it and certainly not on the pages of Nairaland which is always all argument with no admittance to ignorance.
Your assumption that anyone would ever arrive at any Logically conclusive position here on NL is actually what is pathetic When someone asked a question about Saul's daughter and the state of her barreness, an answer was given and it was logically conclusive to everyone. The only reason a logical conclusion cannot be reached here is because there is a contradiction; attempting to change meaning of the word to suit your ends is disingenous at best and dishonest/pathetic at worst.
This is English language, if it's non-contradictory, it would be obvious to everyone, unless those that have put blinders on. |

DoctorAlien: 4ever God,
Except the ones that have no modicum of intelligence, the "atheists" here know that the Bible contains no contradiction, if that word is defined correctly, as the erudite felix omor defined it on the first page of this thread.
Thumbs up bro! This is actually very silly. You are yet to see AgentOfAllah's queries to a logical conclusion and you are declaring victory. Quite pathetic. |

AgentOfAllah: I've read the link you refer me to in "Answersingenesis"; and neither it nor your deliberately bamboozling recap above - even if I'm to believe that it is not a total fabrication - addresses my tailored question which you patronisingly tagged "uninformed". (Argumentum ad hominem?)
If you recall, Felixomor said the account in John 20 chronicles the second arrival of Mary at the tomb, while the account in Luke was the first; so we can say my question is in fact informed by the trail of this very conversation we're having. Again, I ask: Why is it that in Luke, Mary remembered what she had been told before she left the tomb (and was even filled with joy according to Matthew); but then comes the second visitation, which chronologically succeeds Luke (and I assume Matthew); and suddenly, she relapses to the thought that the body had been stolen? I am patiently waiting for the 'abracadabra' that will happen here. |

He asked a straight question, how about you give him a straight answer instead of asking him to google stuff. Can't you type whatever answer you found on google here since google is now the source of your spiritual insight? DoctorAlien: AgentOfAllah,
Please google "four accounts, one reality" and stop asking those uninformed questions.
Mary went with the company of women, but as they neared the sepulchre, she saw the stone rolled away and she left the rest and ran to inform Peter and John who were probably in nearby Jerusalem. |

The religious leaders spiritualize all these normal problems which are usually as a result of a bad society so they can sell the cure.

You cannot understand it if your spiritual eyes are not open. In the spirit realm one angel is equal two. One donkey is equal two. Jesus at the tomb means one/two angels at the tomb. You all need to pray for understanding even though the OP copied everything from a website. Your minds are just too carnal. Happy new year my friends! |

Omudia11: I don't understand the purpose of this thread. Forget about these people who have been given over to a reprobate mind.
An atheist here told me that during prayer in church with nobody laying hands on him, he felt an electric jolt run through his body and he landed on the floor. So I asked, "were you exposed to electricity hence the fall"? He replied, No. Were you pushed by anyone, He said No. How then did you fall if it wasn't the power of the holy spirit? That's where the confusion came in

Why do everyone believe in God without issues, but when it came to the personality of Jesus, a problem asrises? Most have their versions of who christ is or is not.
The bone of contention is Jesus Christ. Answer me truthfully...If you were not Christian, would you have believed that God walked the face of the Earth and was killed by mere humans? |

Christianity Etc › Re: The 'Hatist' Manifesto - Is Religion Worth It? (Incomplete) by Ranchhoddas: 7:12pm On Dec 30, 2016 |
hopefulLandlord: sincere answer is that most atheists on this forum are former Christians themselves so its only logical to attack something you have been a part of from the inside, that's why whistleblowing is the best way to expose a corrupt and hypocritical organisation
also we are in an environment where Christianity forms the major religion of the country so popularity is a valid reason too
an atheist from the middle east who is a former Muslim would most likely attack Islam much more than he'll attack Christianity (if he attacks Christianity at all)
also Nairaland Christians aren't helping matters by focusing more on atheism these days than they'll focus on their own religion
How many muslims enter into atheist threads to start trolling.?
How many muslims always assume that any thread negating "God" or "religion" is their concern?
Even though the word "God" is used by every religion, how many times have they assumed you are talking about their God when ever you use the word "God" then turn around and complain...
there was once a thread against Abraham/Ibrahim willingness to sacrifice his son, Muslims didn't bother even though it concens them but christians would assume it is sorely the exclusive concern of their religion.
I know Islam section is locked and that might be part of the reason for this but I'm pretty sure that Christians would still leave their section to attack anything "not Christian" on the general religion section even if they're given a section
most Muslims on this platform make it an unconscious point to ignore atheists as much as possible, even when our criticism is valid, they'll rather take on a Christian like Al Baghdadi, Plapville, Anas09, truthman et al even when they give dumb remarks than take on any atheist giving valid one if they can help it; and they also have a way of ending discussion with atheists by going silent while most Christian apologists argue with us for tens of pages trying to "win"
its basically all a vicious cycle anyways
so if I'm to chose one option that seems closer to the truth "Popularity" it is While I agree with most of what you've said, I am not restricting myself to Nairaland, I believe if a survey were to be taken, Christianity would still take the highest amount of flak. The character Jesus from my own observation has a way has a way of popping up in all religious discourse whether inadvertently or otherwise. I am still open to the popularity theory though as Christians dominate many spheres of endeavour. |

4everGod: You already know the answer.
Nobody fights the powerless or the empty. Everyone who is envious or angry at the powerful always look for ways to first weaken the powerful so they can come within striking distance.

Truly, I wonder if the fact that Jesus Christ and Christianity in general receives an inordinate proportion of the ''tirades'' against religion is because of its popularity or because it's the real deal. |
