shadeyinka: Strong will power!? I agree except that most addictions come in subtly and break the resistance and power of the will. There are things that break addictions: 1. Self deliverance 2. Shameful disgrace 3. Substitutions
Many addictions are (strongly or weakly) spiritual in nature. If this is the case, why are support groups like 'Alcoholics Anonymous' and 'Gamblers Anonymous' effective?.....I actually called you to help the guy and not to argue with me. |

It is my personal opinion that any addiction (with the exception of strong narcotics) can be overcome with willpower- an extreme desire to not want to engage in them again. If you believe it's preventing you from fulfilling your God-given destiny, it becomes easier to stop. Cc: Shadeyinka |

Omudia11: It is not my point. It is God's point. Jesus Christ said without mincing words that the sin of blasphemy against the holy spirit will never ever be forgiven. Let us stop interpreting the bible based on our feelings. It was clear enough. Notice the bolded.
The Unpardonable Sin Matthew 12: 31 "Therefore I say to you , every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men , but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man , it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit , it will not be forgiven him , either in this age or in the age to come. Na im be say many people for Nairaland no go enter Heaven be that. |

Anas09: And this information was only on Philosophy?
And, you may need to explian further.
What do you mean by "Peer outside the confines of his religion?" You mean Christians read only Christian related materials? I know i study Islam right? And right New Age stuff which are atheistic in nature too.
Am in the Net on only on NL, i read you atheists dumb theories that keeps you people where you are. Maybe what i have not done is doubt my Scriptures.
I will lie to you if i tell you i don't have questions in certian areas, but you see, there are things you just can't ignore and to doubt them will be foolish. PROPHECIES. BEFORE MY VERY EYES, THEY ARE GETTING FULFILLED.
Guy, I think what you meant to say is that " When a christian gives room to doubt and unbelief in his God, he/she will find alot of materials which churn out clever lies and coded deceptions that when followed up turns out false.
So it is also when an unbeliever begins to doubt his unbeliefs, he fines a lot of materials that helps him see his dumbness.
I saw a YouTube video of a former atheist/ Satanist (Although atheists here kept denying they are not satanists, we know better sha) Stephen Dollins, who got converted base on his doubt which came as a result of an incident which took place right in a Witchcraft Grotto where he officiated as a High Priest.
He summoned Ashteroth (Demon) to carry out an assignmrnt, Ashteroth came back in a rage and gave him a sound warning never to sent him to the house of a Christian, never again.
Stephen was stunned. A mere Christian lady shook Asteroth up like this? Is there any other power out there beyond this? Isn't Satan the All powerful? Asteroth being a very high ranking Demon made it even worst.
A Noise making, babbling Christian sent Asteroth into a feat of rage? And what he went there to do, he could not. What could have happened in the house of the Christian lady? These were the questions in Stephen's mind.
This incident made Stephen to start harbouring "doubts" that what he had always believed to be true could actually be lies, (which was that, Satan is the Most powerful being ever, and that theres no God, Satan is god, and that god is the weak enemy).
Just imagine... Theres no God... Satan is god God is the weak powerless enemy. Hmmm, i see a pattern.
This man Stephen, could make demons do anything he wanted until one day, he sent Astheroth to a Christian lady who set Astheroth on fire.
That incident, made stephen to start doubting what he had always been told and he started investigating (outside of his peer, according to you), and what did he find? God.
He found God standing there waiting for him to exhaust the delusional powers he was given by satan.
Today he is a Christian, going about exposing what he was into, and the deception of satan using certain class of people.
When atheists like you come out here talking, we know what is going going.
Dare to doubt what you have believed. It works both ways. Lol this lady. I don't know how you arrived at all these from a simple explanation. |

Why get bored? Your thread is still very young.
How did you know your IQ increased? You said because you were discussing philosophy to the point that folks thought you studied philosophy.
The question now came, "Did Philosophy increase your lQ? Yes or No.
If yes, did the IQ remian within the confines of Philosophy or did it also show in the way you scaled other heights in your academic Endeavours?
What happened to the IQ after you left atheism, did it dropped?
Do you still have the high level lQ now that you are a Diest? I don't think his IQ increased. What I believed he meant was that he became more knowledgable. When one dares to peer outside the confines of his religion, he discovers that there is a whole ocean of information that he has not been looking at and he then goes on a quest to seek out this knowledge. I believe this is what happened to the guy and he's just misrepresenting it, albeit innocently as IQ increment. |

Les: I'm now convinced atheism thrives in argument. Also convinced that you can never convert an atheist through argument, reasoning or anything of sort. I call on christian brethren here to cease arguing with these folks here cause it won't bear any fruit, if it could, the pharisees would have had a change of heart. I must confess, I love this thread, really exposed the delusion of atheism. Shalom!!! 1 Peter 3:15 |
Christianity Etc › Re: Scientific Study Of Speaking In Tongues by Ranchhoddas: 11:49am On Dec 01, 2016 |
Omudia11: Lol... You have no part to play in falling down or not. Most people only realize after they must have been down for a couple of seconds.
You can go to church for 100 years and only fall once. Still the question you should ask yourself is "why did I fall"? People don't randomly fall down on the streets out of the blue. Remember the first law of motion.. A body must remain in its state of rest or constant acceleration unless acted upon by a a force. Mere thinking of falling cannot make you fall if force is absent.
No one can resist the power of the holy spirit. It also happened to me once years ago... Seriously I can. And the fact that I can by merely standing my ground makes me want to think that it's perhaps a physical experience. |

I only began to fall down when I started wanting to. I believe that I can resist whatever it is that makes people fall down if I so desire. How do you explain that? |

hopefulLandlord: that's why it's "unwritten"
for instance you'll never see KingEbuka and cohorts antagonise each other even though they may not agree with what the fella is saying, they'll rather stay silent than say "No Damogul, you're wrong" even when its glaring that what he said is wrong
KingEbuka could say the sky is always crimson in colour and I promise you none of these active Christian apologists would say something different, they'll rather leave the thread and try to focus on other things
so when one of us says certain wrong things, I'll just stay silent or throw a red herring as a way of switching the conversation into something we both agree on I understand completely. |
