Image123: Yes, what i am saying and what the Bible says is that man was created perfect or as the Bible better puts it GOOD. It makes perfect sense. "if it can fall then it is not perfect" actually makes little sense. Any goods can be manufactured in perfect condition but it can spoil, hope that make some sense? A car can be produced in excellent condition, but it can still be damaged. Doesn't mean that it was never in excellent condition. A fruit can be formed perfectly but it can spoil or over ripen. A human child can be born with no defect but can later on in life become deformed due to sickness or accident. This are all things we see around us every time.
Lionel Messi, a brilliant soccer player, does not always take brilliant shots. Not all his passes are brilliant, yet he remains a brilliant player. While this is not the case with God, i'm just bringing up more illustrations that show that there really is nothing so unreasonable or out of common reason in what you are asking. It's just that most unbelievers are too lazy to really think. i do not have the kind of faith unbelievers have, they have so much faith in rubbish.
if this thing you have said is true then one can say that God can become imperfect in the future...do you agree?

spare me the sermon.i am a christian cos i was born into a christian home.the same goes for most muslims, buddhists, hindus, etc.reading of historical accounts and learning other peoples views has made me develop doubts about religious concepts such as heaven, hell,Jesus etc.telling me to sacrifice those doubts on the alter of faith is just unacceptable.so i'll continue to live my life like this(conscience controlled)until a christian or any other religious afficionado can prove to me BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT that his/her religion or lifestyle is the ultimate.until then...

ouch...that is because unlike you,i do not judge people by their religious affiliations .i learn new things from those guys on a daily basis.if i start following people like you,the only thing i'll get are bible verses and how God is going to roast billions of people for all eternity.i am sick of that.so don't blame me.i am a christian.i allow my conscience guide how i live my life so that when that judgement day comes,i'll have a case to present(i'll get my day in court)if after that God still insists on the barbeque, then c'est la vie.

RationalDude: Don't try to understand the things of the spirit with a dictionary. You need to reach an advanced level of understanding before you can understand these things. Man was perfect but fallible, meditate on it and the ugly spirit will give you understanding.

texanomaly: @ Rationalmind and macof

My point is that we need to be careful when we start rationalizing everything. Sure you can use the same argument on either incidence, but to what end? Your rationalization of everything will ultimately lead to chaos and confusion. There has to be a point where common sense takes over. You can cry all day that everything should be looked at rationally, but in the end there has to be a moral compass. I'm not saying it must be from a religious point of view. Who decides though? You, me, the guy down the street?

I was pointing out where this type of thinking can lead. Where do we stop saying everything is ok, because nothing is intrinsically wrong?
i totally agree.what i have against incest is not religious or cultural or whatever.too much rationalization can be dangerous.wetin sef!!

Image123: What are the important things, pessimism? Once man is created or born, he lives forever in a sense. There are only two destinations, heaven and hell. Heaven is for overcomers, for those that are refined by the tests. The qualifcations for overcoming are glaring, plain and accessible. It is faith in God. What do you do with what you do not need? What do you do with corrupt files on your computer?
i've seen a brilliant inventor invent unbrilliant things. They say genius is 99% perspiration. Thomas Edison managed to make many useless things befre he got it right. Today's dullards can carry out greater calculations than geniuses like Einstein and Newton could. How manage? These things do manage to happen. However, God the perfect One never made man imperfect. Man was created good. He became imperfect in the event popularly known as the fall.
what you are saying is that man was created perfect but he fell.does this make sense to you?if it can fall then it is not perfect. I don't know how else to explain that.Invest in a good dictionary pls.

Image123: That's a godly stance if i may say. God takes no pleasure in punishing or seeing anybody punished too.
Eze 18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
Eze 18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance .

Now, whilst God has no delight in punishing anyone, He would not force anybody to live in Heaven with Him forever and ever, or without their permission like you said. Anyone who does not overcome is not fit for the kingdom of God. Its so simple. Even companies here on earth have standards. You would not because there is so much unemployment in the country then employ people that are unemployable. There has to be a standard. Manufacturers have standard goods, goods that do not meet the standard are dumped, waste, or thrashed. It is only in a corrupt and loose society that substandard goods will find their way into the market. how would you feel if a substandard good was sold to you by a reputable company?
How do you react to spoilt food, expired goods or dead animals? You separate them from the good. You don't say i bought this beans with my last kobo, therefore i will eat spoiled beans.
Any teacher striving for excellence would separate the brilliant from the unserious and the failure. Its called separating the wheat from the chaff.
2Ti 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor.
2Ti 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor. Everyone of us, like Adam, have our chances and free will, as it were, to be a vessel unto honour or a useless vessel.
stylishly avoiding the important things. He will not force you to live with him but He will burn you for eternity if you don't worship Him regardless of how good you lived your life.this is appeal to force(argumentum ad baculum)and also you did not explain how a PERFECT manufacturer manages to manufacture imperfect goods(i really want to hear ur explaination)

Image123: You didn't see how because you were ranting. You were going on about God reaping. simply said, slow down. Reaping time, harvest time is still future, not now. Don't count your chickens before they're hatched(that's basic primary school advice, right?). Harvest time will be the last day, Judgement day. Don't conclude the scres before the Referee blws the final whistle. There would be an innumerable multitude of people that have overcome. We know the final scores. What should flood your thoughts is "will you overcome?"

1Jo 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth
that Jesus is the Son of God?
and the more innumerable people that will not 'overcome' will be barbequed for all eternity by the PERFECT God that created them without their permission in the first place.how do you make sense of this things or does the word PERFECT mean something else to you?

El Yamin: OP is trying harder to convince and justify his and/or herself rather than us.
By comparing the essentials of the human mind, conscience, and yet the right to choose, with the primal animal instincts of lions.

Humanity is way beyond eat, sleep, poo and reproduce as compared to animals.

Life, love, hate, dreams and aspiration, emotions, and most importantly common sense is what makes up the human experience.

Although the thread was an attempt (yet a failed one) to damn religion, however, long before the advent of religion, the golden rule had applied, for every action, there is a reaction, whatever you sow you shall reap. Every culture, every race. So you can't just run around jungle style, doing as you wish all in the name of free will and predestination or whatever you call it.
you reap what u sow!!is God subject to that?if He is then i can argue that He is reaping what He has sown viz:imperfect humans, negligence of duty(He could have just made the garden of eden out of bounds to lucifer or made the forbidden tree inaccessible(He has done it to the tree of life right?)so i can say all the sin in the world is just God reaping what he has sown unless u want to say He is not subject to your so called golden rule...i hope say i never blaspheme!!

Romance › Re: I Think Life Is Unfair To Women & Guys Need To Be Realistic! by Ranchhoddas: 2:39pm On Nov 19, 2013
ogugua88: My mother and I had this discussion just yesterday. I showed her a picture of a guy that was trying to get close to my sister and I. Her response? "Some guys don't date within their caliber." I was telling her, if I were a man, I'd evaluate myself inside and out and toast accordingly, for the girl I want should have no reason to reject me. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the guys who bash Naija women in this section are the lacking guys going for Kim Ks.

I've always wanted to open a thread for women to share their toasting experiences (but I haven't because I already know the result of such a thread). The kind of offers some of us get are ridiculous, and we're still made out to be witches. If I tell you I was asked out on a date by a homeless man at a train station, who would believe me? Yet it's true lol.

That's always been my motto anyway. If you want the best, then be the best and attract the best. A guy who is seriously trying to get a woman should give her no reason to say no. You don't have to be wealthy or even handsome. Just carry yourself well. If you're lacking in some areas, then make up for it elsewhere. You're not handsome? Then be compassionate. You don't have a job? Then put your skills to work and tell her your plans. No man or woman is without a flaw. Any man who puts his best foot forward can get the woman he desires. After all his attempts, if she says no, then the man isn't the problem.

Your post is a breath of fresh air, DN. Well done. smiley
if u say a guy should not aim for a girl like u because he is below par(homeless in the case u have given),would it be alright for a hypothetical brad pitt, peter okoye or whichever kind of star man catches your fancy to say that ogugua should not aim for such guys simply because she is beneath or they perceive her to be beneath them?...just asking!

When your parent told you to be serious in school u are busy gambling and flirting, now look at how u are displaying ur mammoth ignorance here now. If u had read my first post, u wouldn't have vomitted this rubbish. Or u want to tell me that God gave the instruction to circumcise female also? Caveman like you.

sleekch1c: Bia ndidibabe, pls park well.
So just because your parents circumcised you out of ignorance, you are here calling the unmutilated privates of other ladies 'extra meat' and 'irritating'? Better sheath your frigid tongue or rather, fingers there.
And you think your sex life is awesome? Wait till he starts going for 'outside job'... Your attitude is more irritating than a sagging toto.
Now,if you eventually have a daughter, pls don't continue that tradition of ignorance and wickedness by circumcising and rendering her frigid just because same was done to you.

To all circumcised females,
All is well but pls, DON'T pass on this wicked culture to your daughters. No woman deserves that.
