One fruadster pastor tried that with me some time ago.
I was really curious because he was making everyone before fall, so when it came to my turn, i really looked forward to being pushed down by a holy spirit.
so I stood as he spoke in tongues, put his hand on the front of my head and pushed me backwards. His helpers held out their hands to recieve me, but since I was fully conscious, I regained my balance and kept standing.
You see, I was waiting for an invisible hand to push me down, not a real hand, so I kept standing.
he tried a second time, then a third time and finally gave up, embarrased.
later he called me aside and asked my why I was resisting the holy spirit.

I laughed, and knew then that it was all a fraud. All the others fell because they wanted to fall, no one wanted to stand out. It was "Groupthink".
It was either that or I have an immunity to religious bulshyt.

this is a CHEAP attempt at explaining what u cannot explain.There is probably an explaination but the truth is that you don't have it.

It might be seen as supernatural, but it is still within the realms of what we understand in science.

The brain neural circuitry allows it to be both a transmitter and receiver or electromagnetic energy. Yes, the brain is like a radio or better, a gsm phone.
In certain circumstances such as sleep states or extreme stress, conscious extends itself beyond it's cranial compartment. In other words, the electromagnetic inputs become clearer and more focused .

So I would say that in the case of Ranchhoddas and many other cases, his stress and anxiety focused on his immediate issue cased his consciousness to extend beyond its boundaries to see what it wanted to see.

I have had many similar or slightly similar experiences, and so do many many people on a daily basis.

Naturally, a religious person is bound to see the invisible hand of skydaddy in anything that he does not understand, a superstitious person would see the spirit of his ancestors either assisting or hindering his progress, etc, etc.

and an irreligious person is bound to ignore the metaphysical when he sees or experiences it.

plaetton: I have this ability to wake up from sleep at any exact time that I wish , right to the last minute.

For example, If I need to wake up at 4:30am for something, I just tell myself before I go to bed.
At exactly 4:29am, I would get up.

No church in the world has ever performed a verifiable miracle, and most miracle believers never ask for verification, they just believe. It is called faith.

Nairaland religion section has made me question everytin i ever believed about religion.people like logicboy,muskeeto,wiegraf,ooman,plaetton(i dey feel this guy)evil brain,mr troll,cyrexx,etc and even alfa seltzer with his eccentricities have been very influential to that effect.I now consider myself a healthy skeptic. The thing about religion that i can't shake off is the subject of supernatural occurences.If as thinkers we say supernatural occurences do not occur or that they are all staged by pastors and their likes,i think it will also make guilty of the blindness and ignorance we accuse religious folks of.You can't tell me that all the miracles at crusades like Holy Ghost Congress or at Shiloh are staged or are unreal.That will make you the blind and irrational one.Don't you guys agree?

I have seen kids who have Spina Bifida but it's not as serious as this. It can disrupt the nervous system of the child. of course we know what nervous system is all about. it can be treated surgically and it's not fatal. Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus can simultaneously occur in a child. Please no one should ask me what Hydrocephalus is. Just Google it!!
