Good day sir,
I came across your good work on Nairaland and I am really thrilled. I have a building project which is at the roofing stage; I actually want it roofed with stonecoated tiles. However, I am considering my budget; thus, I want you help with formula to calculate the square metre needed with the parameters below :

Length : 53ft (16.2m)

Width : 33ft (10.2m)

And preferred Pitch / Slope : Between 40 - 45 degrees.

Can I have stonecoated tiles not above 250square metres.

I will be glad if you can assist with the calculations and furnish me the formula to go about such in the nearest future. Hope to read from you soonest.

Your agent told you a big FAT lies. I know someone with just 2.50 cgpa in his first degree, who got admission into two universities in Australia.
1. University of Technology, Sydney
2. University of Tasmania, Hobart.

In fact he was even given a tuition discount scholarship of about 25%. Please do not listen to the agent. If you are yet to apply to any institution, kindly email me.
All these agents that are hustling their commission will not let somebody make progress. Please run from that agent ok..

Congratulations you are in UK already. However, the gurus in the house will answer your question. As one of the newbies here, I will like to know how you went about the application and visa processes. Did you use an agent or did it yourself? What course are you offered in Uni Derby and tuition? Which other Uni offered you admission and how much is their tuition? Hope to read from you soonest. Precious.

Coincidentally and fortunately, another school I applied to just gave me an offer and it’s 5K pounds cheaper than Derby and the course is better than what I’m studying in Derby

I want to switch asap. Please what is the process? Help me guys
Gracias muchacho to you, Engr. Alex. I appreciate your informative notes and answers to my questions and such that could benefit other newbies like me. Thanks a bunch

1. I applied through an agent and paid an agency fee of #250K as at then. consider dollar variation.
2. Your intended course of study should be in-line with your first degree and your professional duties over the years.
3. I am a co-director/founder of an engineering company and which is functional. I also have my own company in operation.
4. I used the other company as a sponsor being one of the director, I used that in the GTE process with a closing balance of about #32M.
5. I have a landed properties worth over #15M. I did the survey and the proposed architectural design of the one of the intended house to be built with the assumption it is currently on-going.
6. I am married with a kid. So it can be said that I have a very strong home ties. I am giving you all of these to know how demanding their Documentations can be, some agent may not tell you the truth about convincing them you have every reasons to be back after studies.
7. I applied as married with my kid and wife as part of the visa application but I am the only one going.
8. I did the SOP review with the agent because I was part of every process start to finish.
9. Upon Receipt of admission, I made my payment via form A of about $8300 initial deposit black market is about #4.3M then.
10. COE was issued upon purchase of health insurance. And the visa was processed.
11. Did medicals and biometric two weeks interval. And the visa was issued after 10days of the medical.

In all, you might not be lucky to use form A, Average initial deposit of school fees is always around #4-5M. Health Insurance and Visa fee slightly above #1M. Medicals and Biometric #85K. If IELTS is required #83-85K.
Your statement of account will be sorted by you depending on your circumstances and other statutory documents that may be needed based on your application conditions and process.

Wishing you and others best of luck.

As suggested by OOA book school accommodation for few days if they permit, or get a hotel and stay for few days while you find a better accommodation. School accommodation can be quite expensive unless you can afford it.

In terms of jobs I would say they are plenty of job due to coronavirus and employers are struggle to find staff members.

Unfortunately I think unlimited hours is coming to an end this year so if you have restrictions then you might have to call back to 20hours a week unless you willingly to break the immigration law.
God bless you for the informative response. However, I will like to ask about the processing of the student visa ...I will like to know which of the university to apply to considering their relative costs. How much should I be looking at for both visa processing, commencing tuition fee and the bank statement balance to make it a success. Thanks always.quote author=Smile4mee01 post=119669171]

Hi Precious,
Thanks for reaching out.

Good luck with your student application.

Like some student, I paid for a 10day stay @ one of the accomodation provided by the university. Though it was expensive but it gave me he chance to inspect a few houses before I moved in. In fact I only stayed 8 days and the uni refunded my balance.

However there are many other alternatives. You could go to flatshare, it’s a common site for those who want to share. Or Facebook marketplace. Or realestate.com.au

My discipline: Financial Analysis ( Investment )

Studying and working is tough, but very doable. The challenge brings out the best in you as you grind a little harder. Balance is key. When you start making money you are tempted to work and forget studying , when you only study the financial burden weighs on you.

What most students do is to work like crazy during vacation, the money made during vacation is often enough to pay your fees in part and live comfortably.

Australia is a good country guys. No Nigerian I have met here has regretted coming, the few who left left as multi millionaires of done right.

She should inform the vetting officer of the error. She will be properly advised on the next steps to take. The data capture officer can edit the mistake as long as the actual date of birth can be verified with evidence.

Good day, I am one of int'l passport applicant. I actually going for renewal as the previous one had expired. However, I noticed the discrepancies in the date of birth on the expired passport and the one on the NIN. I want to ask if I can back up with court affidavit to change the DOB on expired international passport to suit the NIN as the date on NIN is the age I mostly used and it will save from me the hurdles of going through NIN which I have read here that it is somewhat difficult. Thanks

How did you go about changing the date of birth? How much did you pay? How long does it take to reflect? Any NIMC staff to assist?

@GBASKY

Sure, Id tell u this, its a nice place and worth being here but you shall be patient and willing to spend money. The visa proccess took a long time, the legit way to apply is thru d embasy in south africa. Came here under a working visa, through my father. Medicals, federal police checks, fingerprinting and all that. They also make sure that u have enough money in ur account b4 bein here or a permanent job while here. The long stay working visa's are 4yrs long and student visa's are as long as your course goes.

Now while here, id advise anyone to apply for permanent residency (PR), so you can come back to australia at anytime and after being in the country with PR, u are eligible to get citizenship, that allows u to travel around most countries without a visa and disrespect cheesy.

Depending on the employer, you may wait a very long time to get PR (we are still waiting), to go around this issue, find a lovely woman/man (nigerian or ur choice with an aus passport to marry).

hope i helped and feel free to ask any questions.
