Congratulations!

I wonder why you will not be as detailed as others with your PPR script.

At least you gained from others and must have read other people's ppr script. SO what would you want people to gain from the ppr announcement you have given here.

Well... I will rate this script 1/10. Please, add more details so the score can be revised.

I wish you success in all your endeavours in Cannyland!

Hello guys.

Please, lets not conclude from just what we see on their websites.

Hit them up.. send them a mail or call them to confirm this fact. Until you get a confirmed response from them... do not be certain that you can continue the process when your ACCA exams have not been completed in Naija before leaving. I for one know the information I got.

Influential101:
Woww.. my interest is actually CPA Alberta and I have never read such on their website. .https://www.cpaalberta.ca/Become-a-CPA/Internationally-Trained-Individuals/MRAs/CIMA

The only thing written is that one must have started the programme prior to immigrating to Canada, not really completing it..

I will like a confirmation from the house pls...
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by raphrulz: 9:56pm On Mar 03, 2019
Please, send them a mail on this and confirm for yourself.

As a matter of fact, I am almost done with the process. I started about November last year and have been sent the membership application form ahead of May induction.

behati:
This is the information on CPA BC website. Could you let us know the source of your info? The truth is that information was included as part of the requirement sometime ago and its been updated since last year April, which is why i asked people to research basic stuff for themselves.

I don't think any human being knows your fate!

Carve out that desired future for yourself. It's a land of possibilities as long as you are willing to work hard!

AdetonaDami:
Please what is the fate of a secondary school teacher in Canada as I may switch career ......and also the fate of engineers too? This is because I'm claiming my NYSC experience as a secondary school teacher. What is my fate in Canny land ? please
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by raphrulz: 2:32pm On Mar 03, 2019
The information is very valid if you are converting from ACCA to CPA BC.

behati:
I don't think this information is correct, if it is, then quote your source. This is why it is good for people to research basic stuff for themselves, and when in doubt, contact the authority (CPA in this case).

Sincere apologies.... I am yet to land. Still in Naija.

However, you can talk to some landed seniors like @rainazoe

Hi raphrulz, pls do u know where I can get a tuition centre in Calgary or Alberta province?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by raphrulz: 7:40am On Mar 02, 2019
Well done. I salute your efforts in the process of completing POF.

One rule of thumb about POF is that the funds must be readily accessible to you without any encumbrance of some sort. Encumbrance such as the need to repay, the need to wait for a long time or inability to access the funds at the time you want to leave for CA.

Once you are sure that the UN pension satisfies this, then you can add it. However, bear in mind that the visa officers are most likely used to processing Nigerian applications with pension stating that only 25% is accessible after 4 months of unemployment. So you may want to provide more evidence or an extract of their promulgation where it is clearly spelt out that the complete 100% is accessible. Attach them as an evidence to convince the VO.

As for the second question, you can get the letter from the welfare scheme chairman clearly stating that they are entirely your savings and "can be accessed whenever you need the funds" This has to be clearly stated by the chairman in the letter. You can then attach a statement or savings history that shows how much you have saved overtime in the scheme (preferably in the scheme's letterhead).

Good luck.

Amandacanny:
Elders in the house, the way you guys are getting PPR ehn, I think is better I ask my questions now before you guys get overwhelmed with travel preparations. Hubby works with UN and their own pension is with UN and you can actually take the entire100% upon resignation. Can we use his pension funds as Pof even though he is not the principal applicant? Secondly, I belong to staff welfare scheme where deductions are made monthly on our salary as savings for us. You can take the total savings when resigning. Can I get a letter from this welfare Chairman stating my entire savings and include as my pof? Please I need advice bikonu

Hello Junebaby,

You have to be a member of ACCA before you can commence the conversion process.

If you have any additional questions, you can chip them in... I am ready to answer.

Good day Prof!

Thanks for sharing with us. May the Good Lord bless you and your family.

I remember clearly most of those hurdles especially the medicals of your child and Cyprus PCC that ended up becoming a page 1 material.

The Lord is indeed good and it has ended in praise.

I wish you the best.....

cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Well... my wait was really not the motivation for starting the marking stuff sha...

It was to encourage people to give very robust application experiences when announcing their PPR.

If you check from trends before marking started, people were giving very scanty PPR messages.

Somehow it encouraged people to add more flesh to it.

However, I won't lie that it has not helped me cope through all the wait.

I'm 5 months post aor... I can't complain sha... but i don tire mhen!!

Zutlin:
You and your marking. What's your AOR date? It seems this marking is a coping mechanism for you ehn. grin
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by raphrulz: 3:02pm On Mar 01, 2019
Hello,

HST was not applicable in my case because my friend paid exactly the amount that was quoted for the course. WHich was what i paid him the cash equivalent for.

As for CPA Ontario, they respond faster no doubts, but have a more complicated process. My friend who helped me pay also discouraged me from going that route when i complained about the extremely slow response rate of BC. He also processed his own as an accountant.

He advised me to finalize all the conversion before I land. Besides, CPA ontario only processes the conversion when you are on ground.

So you may need to weigh your options well sha.

Who did you send your transcript to?? (CPA BC or ON??)

Newbeecey:
Right, I actually meant HST on payment for the course, since the person that paid for you is in CA. I have only sent transcripts to them, I am going through CPA Ontario, found out from someone here a while back (cant remember) that they are faster

Hi Guys,

So I considered spreading my tentacles here to mark "Landing thesis"...

But it seems this group is made up of more serious people that may not be interested in my professorial services.

Should I go ahead? or nothuh ??

grin grin
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by raphrulz: 11:28am On Mar 01, 2019
This will be deducted. They will ask you to send them a copy of your birth certificate.

However, I am still waiting for their feedback on this, as I am yet to be contacted to make payments yet.

Once they confirm all my documents satisfactory, then the payment for subscription+ membership comes up.

What stage have you reached?? and are u going through CPA British Columbia?

Newbeecey:
Wow thats great. Thanks for your very detailed response. Did you have to pay HST too considering you are not resident in CA?
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by raphrulz: 11:25am On Mar 01, 2019
Hello,

I got someone residing in CA to pay on my behalf. I transferred the naira equivalent to his Nigerian account.

He raised a draft addressed to CPA, in favour of me. (So my full name was clearly written in the draft, as payment in favour of me)

Then he attached the bank draft to a print-out of the email trail showing my online order for the course.

Then submitted it at their office.

Immediately he submitted it, he then sent a mail to the same lady that responded to my order request sent via mail, to inform her that the draft had been paid... so they could process.

This was done the same day...infact within a few hours.

And as a sharp guy naa.... I finished the entire course in less than 2 days.

No time to waste. Especially considering the delay by CPA BC. Approximately 8 weeks to respond.

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by raphrulz: 7:34am On Mar 01, 2019
Wow! This is the definition of express entry!!

If its 8th March that the passport would come, then you are well within the stipulated timeline.

So nothing to worry about.

Just snap all the pictures and get every necessary document ready.. so that you go directly from immigration office to VFS (immediateye you collect your passport).

Please, we are still waiting for your full PPR script.

DO fast and submit.
