Geehan:labetalol is a beta blocker. It could be effective but watch your heart rate cos it could go too low, and again beta blockers are known to reduce kidney function while reducing blood pressure. So keep an eye on your kidney filtration rate. Make sure your doctor conducts a regular serum creatinine test to determine your GFR. Nifedipine is good. |
achi4u:Not very bad. But you should already be on medication. Once you begin to get 140 in your readings, it's likely you'd be hitting 150 without knowing it. Between 140 and above, the kidney function starts to get impaired especially in black people. Ask your doctor to prescribe low dose Perindopril Arginine. This medication works for most people. It is an ACE inhibitor used to stop the decline of kidney function and control blood pressure. |
The ratio of the prevalence of hypertention amongst Nigerians is more than the " 1 in 3" the Op quoted here. 2 in every 3 Nigerians are hypertensive. Then, the big issue is that more than 3/4 of those who managed to come forward to be diagnosed ended up stopping their medication as soon as their pressure seem to be normal. This is contrary to the conventional guideline which stipulates that the medication MUST be taking life long. Your pressure elevates sporadically once you're hypertensive. So you have to take the medication till the end of life. One thing again is to find the medication that works for you. One brand of hypertention medication is not a blanket one for all sufferers. The medication that brought down the pressure of Mr A might not do same in MOST CASES for Mr B. People have to excise patience, work with their doctor, spend a little money to find the brand that works for them. This is key. |
What is unique and sensational about a common dress? Nigerians and their chronic over excitement...terrible poverty |
A country held hostage by a particular tribe whose customs and tradition are allergic to modern trends and development cannot progress Cos they don't know the difference! A year after one of them came back as president, look at where they kept the rest of us. Who would want to come back to an arrested-development? |
One two many. Sometimes I wonder how the rest of the world would have seen me if I were a Muslim? How could i have been defending the indefensible day by day, from Europe to America, from Syria to Borno and Agatu to Awgu and Ondo? What a shameless religion and it's shameless adherents! Unbelievable. |
What an assertive mum Prince Kanu has! She reminds me of the courage of her great auties ( ABA Women) of the 1929 riots. |
If I were Obiano, I will use this friendly and courtesy call by Buratai to play some middle of the road politics. I will thank him and his men for the job on security in the region, urge him to even do more. And at the same time, cease the opportunity to urge the army chief to help fish out the bad eggs who SHOOTS AT PEACEFUL PROTESTERS damaging the army's name. Politics is not a zero sum game the way Willie plays it. You must attempt to be what every segment of the electorate wants you to be to them. |
obailala:Well, the subtle message behind OBJ's to Buhari is that there is no room for excuses. That the present economic uncertainty is uncalled for. Not much has changed in the value of 30 billion do!Lars now vizavis what it could have valued in 1999. That's why he's got an economic management team, if any. Buhari has got so many misplaced priorities. Again, read OBJ's brush-over subtle message on Biafra, a situation he equally encountered. But Buhari is simply occupied with wickedness, so much so he's got little time for progressive agenda. |
Conversely, it is the man who lacked the capacity to account for the money he requested that is the illiterate. Mr. Obasanjo, the bucks stopped at your table as the president, therefore, you are the illiterate in this context. To the contrary, Nigeria was much more on the world table when GEJ was there than now. You met 3 billion dollars in reserves and oil price at 9 dollar per barrel. And yet you did your best. But, the crying baby Buhari met 30 billion dollars in reserves and price per barrel at 4x more than you did and yet is still confused on what to do one year after. Rather than come out clean and scold the Daura dulllard, mba!, you chose the soft target GEJ to whip. No country progresses this way. Pure hypocrisy. |
Interesting times. Willie gave the signs that he is a "nationalist" and he is getting the usual reciprocity. But there are two things which he apparently want in his political carrier. They are: 1) To win a second term 2) To position himself for a future shot at the presidency. The latter has pitched him against the majority of his electorate who wants out of Nigeria. The killing of peaceful protesters which the majority of his citizens saw him as an accomplice is troubling. The current atmosphere in Igboland is that which does not allow a politician to vacillate between the two. It is either you are with them or you are not. Or the better altetnative; to simply shut up. Is he sure he will one day become president or vice Cos others before him did the same and didn't succeed? What if he lose his second term, ending up neither here nor there? |
Nigeria lacks credible institutions and will certainly never redeem herself. On whose interest is it keeping the murderous arrangement called Nigeria going?...A killing field intentionally ignored by the world community Cos of vested interests. |
Really? Another primitive Nigerian girl with her infantile bragging. What is the net worth of this minion called Ikeji? Mosquito infested banana island house and an SUV, then the idi.OT thinks she "can buy any man"? Even Oprah, under alcohol influence, will never make such a statement. Village champ. Anyway, " I can buy any man" means the jobless gigolos hovering around her. |
Adeniyimi:On point to a large extent. Money wise and when you're very young and have an established source of income, Nigeria or Africa is better. But if the reverse is the case, and you're approaching middle age, the West offers a safety net with a high class medical care. That said, people have a better life abroad. It is not all about SUV and cash in the pocket. Yes, most of the so called rich Nigerian men can't sustain their hospital bills in Europe or America when they got ensnared by a sickness that needs admission and a longer care. The two sides needs a careful meditation before one makes a choice. Does MJ have permanent resident status to enable her get access to the labor market? Of course u wouldn't expect her to work 'under the table' with three kids to take care of. Many considerations. |
gloria34:What u referred as 'critisize' were not my emphasis. Go read what Paul said. Then you'll understand that what I wrote was the interpretation of Paul's view of Peter's current dispositiom, which constitutes - greed, silly rivalry and self pride. No two ways about it. |
Like Paul said, of which Jude has now confirmed, why hasn't Peter reach out to his twin brother since the man he wanted out has long gone since one month? Peter appears to have traits of greed, stupid rivalry and self pride! For Jude, now is the time to sit down and do self evaluation. What best can u do now cos money from entertainment will no longer be there? Try and adjust your spending even as u figure out the next sources of income to explore. That's life. |
Sounds matured and measured. Yes,I recall Peter having said his problem was Jude being in the business. Then why hasn't he come back since Jude has left? Truely, may be Jude is/was a cover up for Peter's quest for personal business pursuits. Someone must have instigated the unhealthy rivalry when there shouldn't have been any need for it! |
It appears the world is finally listening to IPOB. Someone out there is also begining to accept there is s difference between the 60s and 2016. Buhari was summoned to America right after he rejected watching the video of the ABA masacre, and now this. Social media has made certain acts difficult to hide; the more these videos are handed to media organisations the easier the goal of the agitators for independence. |
Really? Apart from no.5, if the other ones listed were what it took Nigerians to become happy, then they're actually the iddiots Pat Utomi once reasoned. |
Sometimes I marvel at Nigerians and their warped sense of beauty. Again, look at this one with her thin, stick-like ankles and legs. Wow! ![]() |
The Sarakis are unique in their physical looks vizavis the Yoruba.. And this makes it even more difficult to dismiss the family's assertion that they are not genetically Yoruba. On the other hand, this is not to say there can't be a few Yoruba families that have looks that are not dominant with the Yoruba. But the Sarakis may actually have a reason. |
jmichlins:As we write, hundreds are dying everyday from Fulani cattle rearers who are wielding illegal military weapons. Dont they deserve a presidential statement? |
VirginFinder:So he and his family are your guests after ONE HUNDRED YEARS of "having no where to go"? Interesting. |
Shame of a country. Look at the sorry state of what they call a 'power station' How could anyone in his right senses condenm any group seeking separation from a leprous arrangement called Nigeria? |
A bird's eye view of 2019 for SS and SE. Middle Belt will join and that will be the end of APC |
Ladies and Gentlemen, I put a call few a minutes ago on the first number and a lady picked. She spoke in Igbo and told me she is from Ohafia, Abia state. She said she lives in Maiduguri and a Muslim. She had many things to say, but one thing she made clear to me was that Ifesinachi was not abducted contrary to the news. She narrated how she picked Ifesinachi thoroughly beaten with wounds all over her body by her mother or so. That Ifesinachi is very safe. The Igbo woman angle to this case has changed the equation and needs to be investigated further. The woman is ready to talk, she's got a lot to say it seems. But this was a long distance call of which I couldn't continue. |
The Gowon family has been largely secretive and conservative but Musa is begining to change all.that. He is an extrovert by nature. With his family name secured, he's poised to be the biggest celebrity from the plateau if not Northern Nigeria. Here comes Musa Jack Gowon the new kid on the block! |
loopman:Cheap shot! |
loopman:You wouldn't remember Cos you thrive on trivialities. Pity. |
loopman:Why don't you engage me on the subtle points I raised ? Must u bring your lack of good up-bringing in the discourse by descending to name calling? |
Really? I'll rather wait for another media outfit to second this alleged objection by Chief Anyaoku. However, Emeka Anyaoku is not known to take positions on very hard issues. If he actually turned down the request of IPOB, it would not be because of any person in Nigeria or Buhari in particular. It'd certainly be because of his position in the British society as a recipient of the rare honor of the Freedom of the City of London. |
If the news is genuine, the names mentioned to represent them are credible. But then, i'll tune in to Radio Biafra tonight to ascertain the veracity of the development. |
