The car has been driven for 7.5+ years and though mileage is higher than average, t's still very reasonable at approx 20k miles per year. Would just have your mechanic do the usual full inspection prior to purchase.

The car had an accident on 11/01/2007 but no effect on the title as there are no title problems (junk, salvage, flood, rebuilt, etc). Looks like repair was done satisfactorily. My concern would be with the mileage which was already 256,347 km as of Feb/2008. The average driver drives approx 24000 km (15000 miles) per year. It's been 6.5 years since the first owner bought it so would have been nice to see no more than 156000 km at the most. Now, it's possible the mileage is mainly from use on the highways which is considered to be better than use within the city however I would not be comfortable with this mileage even though it's a Toyota. I have a 5.5 yr old Toyota model with 82000km, this Camry is only a year older but has done more than 300% more.

As the oyibo man says, "you get what you pay for." Glad we caught this.

The importer should have had the car repaired and applied for a rebuilt title in the US before shipping. That way, it's confirmed the car is roadworthy. All the panel-beating that can be done in Nigeria does not necessarily make the car road-worthy if things like structural integrity have been compromised by the accident. At least, the state inspection in the US after repairs provides peace of mind and then you leave the rest to God.
