True, Banana republic is really no better and depending on where you live; it may not even be as good as your average middle class surburb in large North American cities. Yes, prices there are outrageous and there are some nice architectural pieces but the neighborhood itself is nothing special. |
support4u, blink 182 Are you saying gtb charges the official exchange rate when you use their mastercard abroad? |

He just went there once the agent told me the date and time of the examination. You sound surprised, isn't it normal to allow the owner of the container or their representative to witness the exam if they want? |
Poster I'm curious about the cost of trucking one container to Lagos island, or are the figures you quoted above (16-20k) outside the ports already? |
Poster I use MSC from Toronto-Montreal all the time and have never had any vandalization but there was a time when one of the port boys attempted to steal some lose items from the container during the exam. Fortunately, my relative witnessed the exam and was able to stop him. As people already said, likely to be your agent or his boys/apprentices, he should have padlocked the container once the examination was completed. More often than not, it is during the examination that thieves are opportuned to steal from a container. If possible, have somebody(other than the agent) there when your container is to be examined to ensure nothing is removed and that person can confirm the container is properly locked afterwards. If you like, you could even get a solid padlock yourself to lock the container after examination and give the agent a duplicate if necessary. |
Skyblue I see where you're coming from and agree with you. I read a lot of articles in the politics section that I would otherwise not have heard about and sometimes the articles are a lot more engaging than some of the discourse/debates/abuse between members supposedly discussing. |
If you are interested in shipping vehicles from Toronto and need to share container space (40 ft), please email me at rasmur5@gmail.com. Note that I'm not charging a premium for sharing, you'd be paying the exact rate being charged by the shipper and you can pay directly to his bank account. |

As much as possible, buyers should try to get independent history checks from third parties. As we have seen in the past, a seller providing the report can doctor it by altering odometer figures on Carfax and it's even possible to delete whole sections of the report and type in favorable information. |
This is a disturbing turn of events, I'm contemplating doing VIN checks for potential buyers. |

GTB's pretty good, they take good care of me and that seems to be the general consensus from what I've heard. |
