Those men in "your" picture, are not the issue, the majority of Deltans are convinced that they are not transparent, but stop attempting to shift the focus away from the criminal neglect by the FG of the entire region over the years.
Like Beaf wrote earlier " I welcome the day we'll be able to blame our leaders as you very ignorantly suggest; because on that day, we will have 100% resource control "

Blaming the victim is something we've learnt from colonial masters and the likes of KKK. FG has a 60% share in all oil contracts, the other 40% is for the oil companies. ND leaders do not run the FG - the FG alone has set and broken enddates for gas flaring and levy's only the lightest punishment for environmental disasters (the FG bearing a 60%, doesn't want to fine itself).
And the wanabe neo-colonialists as we have them in Nigeria today,

nigerians speak more grama than the british.

Look, MEND along with majority of nigerians are demanding resource control or so-called "true federalism" so the FGN should deal with that specific demand.

Armed insurrection against injustice sounds good, unfortunately, this ain't it. Sorry to burst your burble.
Burst my bubble?? nah, far from it
Agreed, our leaders have been milking us dry and some of us have repeatedly called for them to be brought to justice. You talk about 11%(13%)of the oil wealth being enough to take care of the whole Delta, pray tell, how and when did the FG even agree to that percentage
compared to when oil exploitation started in the ND??I tell you that the FG is not sincere about the NDDC you alluded to and I hate to burst your own bubble but I have to inform you that since the inception of the NDDC,there has never been any year the FG ever fully released the approved funds for the commission. They release the %age of the approved some to the states and NDDC and blackmail the governors and the board to use part of the money to fund their national party activities
Talk of setting up NDDC and the like,IMO if the FG is sincere about developing the ND,it doesn't even need to set up any commission or ministry for that purpose.Did they set up "ADC" to develop Abuja?see how Abuja has turned out(forget about the FCDA as I'm aware they mainly drew up the master plan, while most of the capital projects there were directly awarded and supervised by the FG).Why have successive administrations that have controlled all the oil wealth not done same in the ND??

So please stop telling me about our corrupt leaders like we don't know them already(don't worry,I know it's only ND governors that are corrupt),in any case,we've seen through this divide and rule plot, the FG has structured the release of the 13% funds to the ND states in such a way that it's doomed to failure and folks like you will come here and run your mouth. Why can't the FG tackle the infrastructural problems in the ND the way it tackled that of Abuja and save us all these commisions and ministrieshuh

The only callous and insensitivity I see here is your local and elected leaders screwing you up and people like you running around with blinders over your eyes bitching, moaning and pointing fingers in the wrong direction.

There is no armed insurrection my friend, it exists only on internet pages authored by clueless and misguided folks like you.

Your leaders and MEND are laughing their ways to the bank and scooping up choice mansions in Abuja and elsewhere and you're here calling other people names/Ignorant. Who is Ignorant? You of course.
See how you're foaming from the mouth as if your father is one of the federal govt people who has suddenly discovered that there's less funds in the treasury to loot, courtesy of the actions of MEND  grin grin grin.As long as we have people with warped minds like you,we may never have any headway in this country.I'm sure you're speaking thus because you either know nothing about the degradation of the ecosystem(not to talk of the criminal negelect development-wise) in the larger part of the ND arising from oil exploitation or you've conveniently chosen to wish it away since it's not happening in your village.Thankfully, the restive youths in the region no longer listen to people like you and will go ahead to prosecute their campaign irrespective of the drivel your type come here to post
I wish you and your kind good luck as the revolution will not be televised and until the FG adopts a more far reaching holistic approach towards addressing the isssues in the ND as contained in the Kaiama declaration and the Ledum Mittee report, then Y'ALL AIN'T SEEN NUTTN YET
For the records, this amnesty thingy (which BTW everybody will soon realise to be a knee-jerk scam),is just one out of the 25 recommendations of the Mittee report and when applied in isolation is doomed to failure.
Sir,please get the facts before you post next time

This problem requires a military solution.

The military and security services should do the job the're there to do (besides planning coups off course). Occupy the delta region permanently and deploy all the SSS, DMI etc to the region.
Apart from the obvious ignorance and lack of appreciation of the enormity of the ND debacle which you've displayed through your post,it's actually unguarded, callous and insensitive remarks like yours above that tend to justify armed insurrection and give the militants a measure of goodwill amongst some sections in the ND

TOOTH FOR TAT

An introvert went to bar and spots a pretty looking woman sitting on the stool. He mustered all his courage for long time, then timidly approached and asked her, "Ma’ am, would be OK if sit here and talk with you?" She was alert, suspecting this man, and responds by yelling, "No, I won't sleep with you tonight!" Customers in the bar started staring at them. The embarrassed guy quickly returns to his table dejected and ashamed. The young woman waits a little and then goes to the guy to apologize. With a smile on her face she says, "I am sorry if I embarrassed you. You see, I am a college student in psychiatry and I am putting together a thesis as to how people react to embarrassing moments." The cunning guy now yells loudly, "What do you mean by $500?""

Hehehehehehe

Nairalanders no go kill person with laff

Why the fuss about an ordinary sum of 3 billion naira.Though, some senior commanders of MEND have spoken out to dissociate themselves and MEND from that saga, anyone who thought the militants would disarm forever just because of 3 billion and some bungalows has displaced Ali baba as Nigeria's king of comedy.Do the math, how much has Uduaghan been giving the Delta MEND monthly, how much has Sylva been giving them(never mind that he said he's stopped),from these two states alone, they'd have got the 3 billion from just the two state governments in about nine months, not factoring in the endless oil bunkering they engage in with the active connivance of the Navy, plus bank robberies and protection monies from multi nationals etc etc

That aside,MEND still wants to retain a semblance of legitimate struggle for resource control,so without the FG adopting the principle of true fiscal federalism, they'll still give MEND(especially the criminal elements within them, who I guess make up to 97% of the rank and file) an excuse to bear arms and carry out acts of economic sabotage

The MEND guys still cant see the handwritting on the wall with what the government did with the boko haram group. The government is only trying to show them what will happen to them soonest if they dont desist from this criminality.A word is enough for the wise oooo. What could make our retarded, slow, stupid and sick president to do those killings on his northerners brother, then it wont take him anything to destroy the whole nigerdelta militants now.Beware
Are you for real,I tell you,if he could,he would have.I saw the youtube video where those useless policemen brought out an obviously frightened boko haram member and used him for target practice, killing him in cold blood, well such things CAN'T HAPPEN in the ND coz dem neva born police wey go go face ND militants.Even soja liver dey cut once they draft them to go to the creeks. With all the bombing of Gbaramatu(which only affected mostly the innocent women and children of the village) ALL the militant leaders are still at large, they even found time to strike in far away Lagos
Are you for a single moment mistaking those hapless Boko haram fools with well funded, well trained, well armed and rugged ND militants. In case you don't know, these guys have stated that they will make sure the economy of this country grinds to a halt by ensuring zero crude export, till the FG agrees to true fiscal federalism, they are half way close to achieving that objective coz Nigeria used to export 3million BPD of crude, but now the figure hovers slightly above half that figure, the FG is aware of this and if they could treat them like the boko haram, they would have done so a long time ago.

BTW,has the FG responded yet
I bet y'all be shocked when Yara Dull comes out with his response,I'm sure he'll do another stupid thing to seek to placate the militants,he's scared silly of losing further oil revenue(as that's the sole reason he even cares about the militants). That guy and his advisers don't have the faintest idea how to handle well organiised insurgents like the militants in the ND (it's only to arrest and murder foolish bow-and-arrow-wielding Boko haram sect members that the ill-trained NPF can do)

MEND has never been a unitary body, they just hire different militants to carry out attacks. . . . of course, there are ideological differences. . . the split between some Bayelsa and Delta militant wings is no longer news
Yep I agree with you,but they've closed ranks abit now with the bombing of Gbaramatu

Ibime:
. like I said, just wait till Okah, Gbomo or Asari speak before jumping the gun. . . .
Who's Gbomohuh Gbomo Jomo is just an alias, just like Cynthia Whyte
Asari doesn't pull much strings within the JRC anymore, though he still has a handful of his loyalists.Okah's influence has been whittled by his erstwhile deputy,Boyloaf, who has now fully asserted himself as an independent militant leader taking along with him majority of Okah's men(though he still speaks of being one with Okah).
IMO,the main militant figures whose opinion will carry any weight are Government (Tompolo),Fara Dagogo,Ateke Tom ,Boyloaf and Okah
