Whether ATM or Credit card, identity theft dey everywhere BOSTON (Reuters) - A computer hacker stole thousands of credit card numbers after breaching security at two U.S. grocery store chains owned by Belgium-based Delhaize Group SA, the companies said on Monday. ADVERTISEMENT Nearly 2,000 cases of fraud have been linked to the breach, but no personal information such as names or addresses was accessed when the hacker broke into the Hannaford Bros. stores in Massachusetts, New England and New York, and Sweetbay customers in Florida, Hannaford said in a statement. Boston's WBZ radio said 4.2 million credit and debit card numbers were stolen. Company officials were not immediately available to confirm the number of stolen card numbers. Hannaford, headquartered in Scarborough, Maine, said it became aware of unusual credit card activity on February 27 and began an investigation. It said the data was illegally accessed during the credit card authorization process. Hannaford Chief Executive Ron Hodge offered an apology for the intrusion. There are 165 Hannaford stores in the U.S. Northeast and 106 Sweetbay supermarkets in Florida. "We sincerely regret any concern or inconvenience this has caused," Hodge said in a statement. "We have taken aggressive steps to augment our network security capabilities." The breach is the latest at a big U.S. retailer and comes after U.S. retail group TJX Cos Inc disclosed last year that data from 45.7 million credit and debit cards were stolen by hackers over a period of 18 months, as well as personal information for 451,000 people. A group of banks later asserted in court documents that the number of consumer accounts were affected was closer to 94 million, a charge Massachusetts-based TJX denied |

izeek:Dont you think your post is incomplete, should av asked the ladies how many of 'em can beat their chest and say they've never cheated on a guy @ one time in their lives (probably hasn't happened/didn't happen to you) Infidelity is not synonymous with the male folk,it's found in both sexes,a person that has self control and discipline will never be moved to compromise no matter how semi naked a babe dresses or how pretty she may appear. Wisdom is the key,the beginning of which is the fear of God(even if na small fear of God ma sef,e go carry you thru) |
Roughcut, Any info on Wapco's year end? |
@ All Most female posters have tended to view the matter from one side of the coin, aiming eventually to lay the blame on the laps of men. This is wrong On the other hand, most male posters have tried to pin it on the ladies who tempt men in one way or the other or outrightly chase married men(I've heard ladies who say they prefer married men cos they are more "responsible" .This too is wrongPersonally the topic is really deep and it's regretful that negative things are really prevalent. Faithfulness to one's spouse is not just to one's spouse,it's faithfulness to God too. We all get tempted(that's why we're human)but do we need to fall?, If you value your peace of mind,I bet you, you'll rather stay faithful to your spouse (whether they dress like ehies models or not) The same applies to the opposite sex Come to think of it,it's just like an empty mountain zenith, once you get there you'll realise there's nothing there |
@ ehie007 you're a bad boy.Where did you get all those pictures?I'm sure not from your bank website. |
@Naijadr sorry for the earlier mix up,sold off the few kg of costain I had @ less than 50 naira(a bit hastily, bot @ around 12 though),so I'll join you in waiting to see if it comes withing striking range by April |
RoughCut:Now I had to stop over @ ur Dojo, yea red marubozu was the case for ABC today,so what's with the hmnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn per thinning volume, wetin you dey plan again? |
Naijadr:Yea yea,I know they have huge infrastructure contracts with mostly private/corporate clients as against governmental contracts that that nearly killed them in years past.I'm also aware that they have some huge contracts from some state governments especially Rivers state, but I'm afraid the above reasons don't totally tell me why the share price of costain has maintained a rocket speed movement to the moon |

chrisoml:Fa fa fa fauuuuuuu, I no be new school oo,walahi ta lahi The sms thingy na afta the transacn though, but you no go believe how many times i don change the pin plus I always leave "controlled"balances in the ATMed accounts just in case ![]() |
@ Chrisoml, Wetin dem dey call old school for ya language? ![]() I no blame you jare my broda, infact I share your views I do have ATM cards, all interswitch enabled, but the accounts I routed them to are closely monitored via sms alert and weekly balance from acc officer This is because I lost my wallet containing my former cards as well as local and foreign currency though I de-activated the old cards and got new ones with assurances from the banks that everything is ok now, I had to employ the above measures just in case. ![]() |
Hello Friends, The recent spate of robberies, highway and bank robberies especially have necessitated a reminder of the following security precautions: 1.It’s been observed that most bank robberies happen before 12 noon,so avoid going to the bank too early in the morning. 2.Be careful when discussing planned bank visitations/transactions on phone or otherwise 3. Lock all car doors and windows when driving. 4. Do not leave office at the same time everyday - vary the routine. 5. Don't be predictable use many alternate routes of travel to your destinations.Vary also the time and days you visit your favourite eateries, clubs e.t.c 6. If your car is lightly hit, either from the rear or from the side, do not stop immediately - it could be a ruse by robbers to get you and snatch your car.(a driver in my wife’s company recently fell for this prank and was not only seriously beaten up,but lost the official car he was driving, all because he decided to stop and challenge the young men that hit him from the rear) 7.When driving on lonely/sparsely busy routes,do not stop to render any assistance in an apparent crash or auto accident, even If it looks real. ( Just dial 774 5703; 774 5705; 774 5706; 791-3550; 791-3540 for police assistance) 8. Always keep sufficient fuel level in your car. 9. When driving, be alert to all activities on the road, front and rear. Be well focused. 10. Watch out for someone trailing your car and if you think you are being followed, drive to the nearest Police Station but avoid driving home straight. 11. Avoid giving lifts to unknown persons; you may loose your car or life if you do. 12. Do not expose brief cases, handbags and other valuables on the car seat while driving as this could attract robbers. Robbers may deliberately hit your car to get these valuables ( Please if possible hide bags and valuables under car seat) 13. If your car has a flat tyre, drive on to a SAFE enough area before you change the tyres, 14. Do not stop if any pedestrian tells you that you have a flat tyre, engine is leaking etc. It could be a device to stop you and attack you.Especially around Abalti barracks,Ojuelegba along Ikorodu rd. 15. Also avoid traffic peak periods and areas with high rate of possible attacks i.e Third Mainland Brigde; Ikoyi, Dolphine, Ketu Alapere 7-Up axis, CMS Bus Stop. Maryland under bridge U-turn. In case of an emergency ( Please dial 774 5703; 774 5705; 774 5706; 791-3550; 791-3540 for police assistance) Hope you'll take the above seriously, have a wonderful week ahead |
dejavoe:Thanx man,checking in a sec |
@ easimoni and Dejavoe Per the food concepts pp prospectus, the megaupload thingy is not available, pls mail it to me via dlast2 at yahoo dot com (that's webzite, not website) |
Now back to more serious issues,I'm getting bored(cos it's now an annoying habit) with our lads dropping pointsn against lowly teams in the EPL.It's no longer funny man,so they should come all out and punish boro for that lone defeat that has scarred our otherwise spotless face |
@ Chacal, Yea you're so right,AC Milan is not Liverpool.AC Milan is that team that made mince meat of Man U in last yrs UCL semis with those lovely Kaka, Seedorf and Gilardino. How could AC Milan be the same as Liverpool? Finally wait for this AC Milan (the team that stopped Man U last term)is the team we beat 2-zip in their backyard |
What do they call those guys, hmmmmmmmm, yea Derby, that's what they're called. Will they do me a favour today?Well I guess I just have to cross my fingers |
@ Mecatchcha, who you dey call oga?no be you and Dangote name dey forbes magazine so? Anyway per your Japaul question, since January 18 when it crossed the N10 mark,it's not dropped down below it.It has made some doji yo-yo(apologies Roughcut) moves though between 11+ and 14+but not more than 15(wonder why that is so) This trend I think will continue in the coming week,as I don't see it getting to N16 (hey this is NSE so if it does I wont be surprised @ all). So you know when you bought, what price you bought @,therefore depending on your objective for buying the stock you can take whatever decsions you wish to;whether to sell some or hold all, BUT NEVER SELL ALL CAVEAT EMPTOR |
I missed cross-buying 3 million units of Japaul @ 13.50 by the whiskers today.GRRRRRRRRRRRRR Well cooloo cooloo, cooloo temper Opporunity go come again |
Phew,I can now heave a sigh of relief. It's been a VERY long time I said "THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY" and meant it. What with rampaging of the bull in the Well it wasnt really too bad, just that some CICO plans were placed on hold, while some had to be sold to cut losses Phew, I enjoin all of you to just CONSCIOUSLY do something to RELAX over the weekend,to ease the accumulated tension and stress(to whom it may apply) Personally,I am going to my sports club to play basketball and have some business-free-disussions with my friends. I would have capped it with a body massage @ my favourite spa,but missus is not too comfortable with that one. ![]() |

Kai mana, can you guys hear the war song from Roma,, Listen closely and you'll hear they are chanting REVENGE,REVENGE ,REVENGE. I pity whoever it is they seek this revenge over |
Is there still se in Transcorp[s]se[/s],the thing don dey rebound,e no even gree show face well for my neighbourhood. The neighbourhood of 2.50. Well another clear case of sentiment (arising from recent info/misinfo) driving the prices up |
Wetin una dey yadder about since? Now listen up once I have Kolo to take care of Torres(he really is easy to mark out of a game, but could be deadly if ignored and allowed to roam),Fab4,Flamstar anf master dribbler Hleb on against Liverfluke,IT'S CL SEMI FINALS,HERE WE COME |
FatherOF2:O boy you harsh o,e neva show face reach as e dey so?,horrr. Some people wey do CICO for the stock last week dey pray seroiusly for a rebound so they can CO as dem don hook for CI ![]() |
Concerning that IAA PP,I think it's late to go on board now. What's all the wahala about paid up capital and NSE's unwillingness to list them. For me,caveat or no caveat, once there's rukus in a particular company I generally tend to avoid the stock. |
choco4life:At last WBC orders Samuel Peters to defend title against Maskaev |
"If you've being in the market long enough, you will know the things that move the market. Most of the movements that you see are 'artificial'. Who are those buying and selling Dangote flour and jerking the price up by 5% veryday until recently? How did you think AP moved up to 300.00? Are you aware that WEMA bank was using its brokerage firms to buy its shares last year so as to jerk it up to 15.00 The figures will not tell you that but there are facts behind the figures."@ Wanaj0 You see, there is a vcery very tghin line between your point of view and mine. You mentioned artificial movements and the maximum point appreciationof AP and Dangote flour, from where I stand I can tell you that if I already have sellable shares of any company, whether it experiences artificial movement or not,I will just just enjoy it and decide on an exit point and sell some/all @ d apt time.(shuo abi u bin wan make I write petition go giv SEC say na artificial rise the stock dey xperience diafore make dem suspend am?horrrr) One thing you will never cacth me doing,is trying to hop on the train of an artificially appreciating stock, especially if there nothing on ground to support such upward movement(man pikin don tey for dis game to go mis do like dat). My when I say once it has to do with the NSE that formbook/fundamentals of a company goes out the window,I PERFECTLY know what I'm saying. As far back as almost ten years ago,I used to disagree with my broker(then) a lot,cos he was always going for the few blue chips with good fundamentals. However on most of the occasions,my "strange picks" have turned out to give heftier ROI than his own picks. BOTTOM LINE:Artificial rise or not, sound fundamentals or not, most quoted stocks on the NSE are in for over 200% appreciation this year. All that is needed is a bit of patience. The NSE is such a good place that sentiments,information/misinformation plus other factors perculiar to us help in pushing prices up |
