@ Wanaj0,

I beg to disagree with you that the upside is limited(the exact same thing a broker told me @ the onset of 2007,he was proved wrong eventually
The NSE is a such a unique place;universal parameters and fundamentals that work in other climes don't always work here. Here more often than not, fundamentals go out the window.Whether a company declares a slim dividend(like oasis' 2k i not the issue. In months to come we will notice very unusual price appreciation in most of the stocks,BUT BY THEN WE WILL ALL BE TOO BUSY ENJOYING THE LOOT THAT NO ONE WOULD COMPLAIN)

That reminds me;how many stocks on the NSE are trading @ up to $1?

Cheer up,all those seeing the thinning downspreadsheet profit. There's a time for everything.
A time for bullish runs
A time for bearish runs
This(the bearish run) shall pass.
This will open more eyes to risk hedging
Come to think of it,it's really not that bad(except you're  chronically CICOish)
That said, overall the bulls will return in not too long a time
So happy hunting y'all(tread cautiously)

Hmnnn  depends on what story you have heard. From the report i read in Punch apparently Vodacom won the bid earlier on when NITEL/M-Tel were privatised b BPE but couldnt come up with the readies and in the process they actuall lost their $100M non-refundable deposit. I also understand this is one of the reasons Transcorp and the Fed Government are willing to divest to Vodacom

So many stories and reports flying around. I guess we havent heard the last of this!
No man, that's not the story I referred to,your comment above happened much later(hence I remarked that they'd been attempting to come in @ various times),however though my fingers are crossed and I hope they don't mess this one up so I'll be able tlo kill two birds with one stone.
Bird one,Mtel has the lowest subscriber base,so if they pull this one off, that will mean they have to build more base stations across the countyr:MORE SITES FOR ME TO BUILD
Bird two; There's no doubt that such an action alone will help in  pushing up the share price of transcorp:SO I CAN ENTER IN GOOD TIME grin grin grin grin

Is this the first time we will hear that Vodacom wants to come into Nigeria under any guise? The CEO of vodacom, Alan Knott-Craig is highly Nigeriaphobic.Recall how vodacom was to come and bid for the original telecom licences, but monsieur Knott-Craig pulled out commenting that he didn't feel comfortable coming to do business in Nigeria that according to him"they(Nigerians)have a way of taking your money",an apparent refence to fraud.
It had to take the very impressive turnovers declared by MTN to rekindle Alan Knott-Craig's greed interest in Nigeria' telecom market. However, even on his second attempt to come in,could not yield any fruit.
So I am not too optimistic with this current move

You guys have expunged an old Mugu seeking for respect.

Without candlesticks or searchlight, it may be suicidal.

keep the flag flying & don't be

Easimoni Sir, i respect everybody on this forum. both active and silent posters. but there are some craze people that come here to sling insults and take their life frustrations and failure out on people. some men have insulted women and some people their elders and mates. dudu people cannot co-operate for a common cause and that is part of the reason our county takes one step forward and two steps back. bickering. anybody who condones insults on anybody or is selective on what they pick up on or overlook all i will say is each to their own conscience. but do not cry if the same insult is later channeled in your direction.  i have previously ignored a lot of insults poured on various posters. some of them do not post again. some of them ignore and were mature about what happened. but in the real world people will not speak to each other anyhow. what makes it worse is most of the posters here are all educated professionals so why act like animals.

one day God willing we will all see our old age and fruits of our labour. we will all have daughters as well as sons. so please when throwing around insults let nobody jinx themselves. this post has been getting more tense in the past 3 months. i know many people whom fear won't allow them to register and participate. it is not right.
Why the long preachment? In the words of Roughcut, you are beginning to sound like my headmaster.
My point is,allow people to say whatever they want to say,I feel there are some issues you don't want to prolong cos as far as this thread is concerned, they don't add value.
Any poster that feels so strongly about views expressed here should do one of three things;
1.Make his/her/it's(someone said some posters are animals) reservations known once
2. Ignore it TOTALLY
3.Invite the offending poster to suitable sister thread for that purpose

So I am. Just a couple of days ago, a Nigerian secondary school teenager, Henry Akahara, won a gold medal in World Class Youth Debate at the British House of Commons in London. A few days later, Olusoji Fasuba won the 60 metres indoor race at the World Indoors Athletics Championships at Valencia, Spain and now this. This country has potentials to rank among the very best in the world if only we have leaders who have the interest of the country and her people at heart.
GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!!!!

On the other hand  I don't want to blame it 100% on the bad pitch(I was actually apprehensive about the JJB and expressed my fears about it on this thread way before the match).I thought Adebayor should have scored on @ least two occasions that he chose to shoot straight @ the keeper instead of chipping the ball.
Well sh** happens, draw or no draw

@ Gunners, per yesterdays match,on the one hand I was heavily dissapointed by the outcome, however note that such things happen especially when you are the BEST TEAM in England playing the MOST BEAUTIFUL Football in Europe(nay THE WORLD),those novice teams will employ every trick in and outside the book to throw the spanner in your works. It's all good though because they are fighting to avoid the drop.
So I say you ignore the scums that are not worth replying and reply the ones you wish to.

FIFA to consider longer ban for Taylor

FIFA are to examine Martin Taylor's infamous foul on Eduardo to see whether the Birmingham defender's three-match ban should extended, it can be revealed.

The world governing body are to call for the Football Association to send them the disciplinary file on the incident involving Taylor, which left the Arsenal striker with a badly-broken leg.

Taylor has insisted the tackle was clumsy rather than malicious, and that has been accepted by Arsenal.

But FIFA president Sepp Blatter said his organisation have the right to ask for such files to ensure that appropriate sanctions have been issued.

Blatter, speaking in Gleneagles following a meeting of the International FA Board, said: 'We will ask for the file.

'We have now the right to ask national associations to give us the file - and if we, the authorities, feel it [the suspension] is not enough then we will come back on that.'

Blatter said the issue of 'violent attacks' needs to be looked at, adding it has even been suggested that offenders should be suspended for the same length of time as their victims are out injured.

Blatter added: 'I told the International Board that a player who is deliberately attacking another player and tries to demolish a player should be banned, and not only for three matches but temporarily banned or a life ban depending on the severity of the attack.

'Why the hell should footballers demolish each other?'

COMMENT;Everybody knows that Dudu is always composed on the ball, more often than not,not in a hurry especially in front of goal, hence the likes of Taylor Tailor may have opted for strong tackles in order to intimidate him and force him  into losing composure and making hasty goal attempts.

However,TaylorTailor probably got more than he bargained for.

He  has insisted the tackle was clumsy rather than malicious, but I say it was a maliciously clumsy tackle,I pray he is not banned for life,a ten-year ban is okay.
,@ least he wont be completely outta job,as a tailor,he'd easily get a job @ next, marks & spencer or any other taioloring outfit out there

FA set to review Fergies attack at match officials.Read on

The Football Association are to review Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson's comments about referee Martin Atkinson after his side's 1-0 defeat to Portsmouth in the FA Cup yesterday. Ferguson was also highly critical of referees boss Keith Hackett for his apparent lack of action in dealing with underperforming officials.

'Managers get sacked because of things like that and he's going to referee a game next week,' said Ferguson yesterday.

'He (Hackett) is not doing his job properly and he needs to be assessed.

'I'm assessed as a manager, players are assessed, referees should be assessed properly by the right people. That performance should not be accepted by our game.'

A spokesman for the FA said: 'We are aware of the comments and will be giving them consideration.'

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm,Fergie,Fergie ,Fergie stop looking for who to blame for the pomping, failure is truly an orphan.
