OluDare01: VISA APPROVED TODAY IN LAGOS Apology please i talk alot.
The journey that started about 18months ago was consolidated today with the approval of my F1 visa. Got to the embassy by 5:10am and those agents surrounded me but I was just using them to catch fun. Took out time to educate some gullible guys that wanted to fall for their trap. I was so confident, I think my confidence level was 99.9%.
Well, we passed through all the check-in and some guys were turned back for offences ranging from DS160 barcode to sevis receipt. Some did not even have the right documents.
Fastforward, we got inside and I just dey form oversabi dont mind me. The lady was like you folded your i-20 and sevis receipt already So after all the initial gragra, I finally joined the queue, was the 10th person. Turned on the pastor mode, no be small thing o ( praying in the holy ghost) Three Vos came and interviews started. They were just dishing out denial like gift. See guys froming fake american accent, no be small thing o Gbam, so i was interviewed by the lady in window 7, the babe before me was also approved. My approval was the third Here is the conversation Me – Good Morning VO – Pass me your documents VO- Why are you going to the US? Me- I am going to the US to pursue my masters degree in Chemistry with a concentration in analytical and environmental chemistry at Tennesee Tech University, Cookeville. VO- what do you currently do? Me- I just concluded my NYSC where i taught chemistry in a secondary scvhool. I also volunteered as a radio presenter VO- (looks at me for the first time) What will you do after your studies? Me- Few weeks ago, the FG launched a $10m clean up of oil spill in Ogonni land in the Niger Delta. I plan to return to Nigeria to help in environmental remediation and fighting environmental pollution, I will take up lecturing jobs in Nigerian Universities, I wanna be a Prof of Chemistry VO- (looks at me) i will be approving your VISA. Then i became deaf temporarily. Be confident, I was so confident and eloquent. Didn't do any rehearsal atall, maybe cos I've been reading transcripts here and I did the whole application myself.
Thanks to everyone here, you guys are doing a great job. To the gurus slimmy2005( Mr nice guy, God bless you real good), imperiouxx, MsNas, Zeezahbee, Bigfrancis Aadeyi, profdot, Ojap, mevisbleek, GboyegaD,bbdd, lagosismyhome, deetus et al, keep on doing the good work here. Rheenah: You know, when you have the Lord by you, no need to shake. I woke by 4 today . Had 7:30 interview.we left by 5:30 and funny enough I didn't even think of the interview. I was admiring the island and the ocean and all. Even when we queued I was absorbed in my surroundings. Didn't think of the interview much. I was on heels and from the whole queue and queue and all I was exhausted and vexed. I think the vexation added more confidence to me. Plus I kept singing the song "your grace is enough for me". (Ladies biko dun wear heel to your interview o) Moving on.... The person that was interviewed before me in window 6 was rejected.
VO: Pass me your passport, sevis and i20 (I did and in my mind was like nawa o. no good morning) VO: why this school (typing fast) Me: Berea college is a highly ranked college in us. with good econs faculty. (I stopped) VO:tell me about this course (I didn't rehearse Ds at all so I didn't HV an answer. Keep your i20 well you will need it congrats. Pick ur passport at bla bla bla place. HV a nice day Me: thank you (Those in the queue before me standing at other windows waiting to be interviewed smiled and said congrats because we had been talking about how everyone was getting rejected. Especially by the man in window 3. So mean. So many drama.Even those phonerising (and they were many both male and female. See me with my yeye local accent and God still did it) Its all God. Be confident. Look them eye to eye. Oyibo is a human. Rehearse (some people just dey bite their tongue) Pray pray pray Congrats sweets |

bailcron: Hello great people in the house.
I appreciate everyone in the house for the great support. My appreciation to God Almighty for His grace, mercy and love.
Also appreciate Bigfrancis for his help in paying my SEVIS fees. Bro, you remain the best. Thank you so much................ @Ratchy and Oloyeadeniyi you are appreciated as well.
My VISA was approved today.......6.30am appointment.
See below the details:
Conversation between VO and I. VO: Good morning Me: Good morning sir VO: Please pass me your passport? Me: I did same....... VO: Also your I20 please Me: did same VO: I can see you going to Troy University? Me: Sure VO: How did you hear about Troy University Me: After I made up my mind to study in the US. I used Google for my search which in turn introduce me to usnews.com, I used this for all the schools I applied to VO: How many schools did you apply to? Me: I applied to 4 and named them....Troy University, Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, Texas A&M at Kingsville and Western Illinois University.
My people, to my dismay the next question is..................
VO: Why did you apply to Texas A&M in the first place Me: I applied because I found a Research interest inline with what I wanted but unfortunately I was not admitted. VO: Why were you not admitted? Me: Perhaps because the course is in engineering and my first degree was in Zoology. VO: Passed me my I20, you will need it at the point of entry. He dint say anything like I will be approving your VISA. Then he picked the white paper and circled the Collection centre......... Pick up your passport on Thursday.
I was favoured............
Thanks to God Congratulations , you are welcome |

rosasparks: I had to join Nairaland to post my transcript because I've been reading everything from part 2 and the amount of confidence I gained from reading and analyzing transcripts really helped me with my interview. My interview was this morning. 9am appointment at Abuja consulate. My visa was approved and no documents were asked. The interview was quite short.
VO: Please come forward ma'am. I like your dress. Me: *smiles* Thank you VO: So you're going to UConn? Me: That's correct VO: What do you want to be in the future? Me: I want to be a health management consultant. I understand that majority of the problems we face in our health sector in Nigeria is as a result of poor management... VO: *cuts me off* Who's paying for this? Me: My father VO: What does he do? Me: He's a recently retired manager in Bleep oil company, but he's on monthly pension which is the same as his salary. VO: What oil company again? Me: Bleep oil company VO: Okay so do you have any siblings currently studying in the US Me: *pauses for a second* Yes, I have a sister who's on F-1 VO: What exactly does she do right now? Me: She's on OPT, working with Bleep VO: Ma'am your visa has been approved. You'll need this to pick your passport.
Thank you guys so much and keep up the amazing work. Congrats |

djmakson: No it wasn't. Meat is generally not allowed irrespective of the POE.
To those coming to the US soon:
If you would have enough space in your luggage (be mindful of the weight. Every airline has specific maximum) , pending the time you would have to visit any African store here, you could arrange for some food stuff like garri, egusi, ogbonno, dry fish, dry vegetables. Get them in ziplocks or plastic bags, clearly labelled. That would last you for a considerable period before eating burger
P.S. Palm Oil (Epo pupa) is not allowed. It won't even pass MMIA. Thanks for the info |

Glory to Almighty Allah for the appointed day (16th June, 2016) arrived... Cab arrived 4:30am at my gate, made some rush-hour dressing and ate my sahur inside the cab. Left home 5:10am and got to the embassy 5:40am. People were already there. Didn't join the crowd immediately, I took my time to make up and dress properly (fine blue gown and hair covered as usual). After so much arrangements from my end, I finally joined the queue then check in start 6:10am or so, not sure of the time. After the almighty screening, I crossed the road to the main building opposite where we were screened. Inside the main building now We were passed to the first window to confirm our documents (I-20, SEVIS payment receipt was attached together at that window) put together in-between my passport. Next window was fingerprints. After that I joined the queue to await the VO's I was the 14th person on queue, after a while they arrived at their respective windows While on the queue I wasn't feeling too well, I was thinking if I should go and wait in the rest room for some minutes. But later summoned courage to get my visa ... Now my turn after some minutes, I was called to window 7... VO: Good morning ME: morning ma'am VO: Can I have your documents please (I:20, SEVIS confirmation with passport) ME: I passed it to her (She was typing and looked up to me and asked) VO: Tell me your plans ME: (fear first grip me...) I am going Troy University in Alabama to pursue my Masters Degree in International Relations VO: Nodding and typing (though facing her system) VO: Ok, what will you do after International Relations ME: I will return home to continue working in my present organisation or alternatively establish my own firm or work in a public sector to develop Nigeria VO: Ok, nodding... (then, she typed like no tomorrow) VO: Who is sponsoring you ME: My dad VO: what does he do ME: he is a successful real estate consultant, he develops... (then, she cuts in saying ok! ok!! ok!!!) VO: your visa has been approved then she returned my I-20 and SEVIS confirmation to me that I will need it at POE and wished me successful trip to the US with the white slip to pickup my passport. ...NOTE: No document(s) was asked I was filled with Joy.............. Sorry for the late transcript Thanks to the GURUS on this thread, your help has been an invaluable contribution to this successful transcript. Profound gratitude to the deserving folks and coaches from my love of life @Don4ye to my sweetheart @OluDare01 you guys are awesome. Not forgetting my ubiquitous fiance for the love, care etc...
