Must we blame government all the time? We can blame the government for poor health facilities but certainly not for Yemi's death. I still know that there is yet no treatment for cancer, i stand to be corrected. What if his last feat was God's last plan for him?, We are all created for different reasons. But if putting the blame on the government makes you feel better, then put the whole load of blame on them(na dem cause am). |
I just wish this woman will act like a human at least for once by stepping down, at least cool the tempo of our present polity. But i have a problem; ![]() My problem is this - Will Etteh's exit solve Nigeria's problem? ![]() People are excited someone is dead in the process but remember that 99.8% of crooked politicians and leaders are healthy and kicking, They are not even thinking of death in the next 20 years even at 70. Must we wait till they all drop dead before we think of a better NIGERIA. With the daily unfolding of events in this country, people lose hope and becomes part of our subconscious that we are born corrupt. I think Nigeria really needs prayers now |
Am of the opinion that dialogue should be forgotten at this point. I have been opportuned to work at some of these creeks which form the basis of the ND struggle. The truth is that there is no geniune cause for the MEND struggle. The people in the creeks are actually suffering but these so called MEND terrorists do not reside in the creeks and all they do is carry out inhumane activities of kidnapping, piracy, bunkery among other form of crimes in the name of the struggle. The ND needs real upgrade in terms of infrastructures and amenities but it should never be tied to the MEND issue. I also know that the region has the bad leadership problem but the federal government can intervene if it is considered of utmost priority. But i still maintain my opinion that there is more to this Niger-Delta problem that has been made public. Why would it take the government so long a time before employing military assistance in PortHarcourt?, these MEND boys are well known and could be easily ocated but we still see them gallivant the streets of PH - then why the Military? If as insignificant as i am, i know some of these boys and with my no-security training I know their camps in the creeks in the course of my job, what does it take the government getting at them. These boys are just bunch of criminals, the real activists have withdrawn from the race seeing the height of crime attributed to the struggle So my question is - What is the government waiting for? I'll reiterate that this shouldn't be taken for a weak threat. Reasons are that these people aint human anymore, they've wasted lives and they don't have regard a million of it. This issue has risen to this height because government wants to dialogue, but the dialogue would never affect the real poverty-stricken residents of the creeks. Again, why would you want to negotiate with a criminal, these boys have made real good money through robbery (Bank etc), bunkery, kidnap & ransom among other evil vices. Now tell me, how much you could offer that can cause a change of heart and actions, tell me the kind of employment you can provide for such people. They've seen loose large sums of money & they'll stop at nothing to keep making such money. So military should get to their camps and do their job or go for their headmen, remember"strike the shepherd and the flock will scatter" So i say NO to dialogue at this point and YES to the development of the Niger Delta(they actually deserve it) |

[color=#990000]I think its time I say something on this thread. I was almost thinking that Nigerian intellects were exhausting with its polity until I came on this thread. The oneness, maturity, rationale, beliefs and good use of our lingua franca is evident on this thread exposing the intellectuals and great minds that still abound. Kenosky, Opokonwa, Kuwena, jbyno, pgm, okoroboy, uche, adrianic etc, You guys are doing a great job. Firstly on the issue of NLNG. With much I know about NLNG, I could say it’s a good place for willing folks. Am in full support of a Plan B and unwavering faith in whom you believe. Reasons are that for the little time I’ve worked for NLNG as a contractor, I’ve seen some real good politics that is common with Nigerian companies. But the truth is that NLNG is actually short of experienced staff – so my point is- even if you don’t get called soon and you earnestly desire to be part of NLNG, find something doing that could fetch you a skill that is in high demand. I have some NLNG friends who are white folks and they get so uncomfortable daily at the unfolding of Niger-delta events. Some three has left while a good number is threatening to leave. It takes you to fit into their positions and keep NLNG running. So my advice is that we think wide. You could earn yourself some worth beyond company politics that you could even define your terms. So i wish you all the best in your pursuits. Remember, it may never be NLNG |
Plz could the people that have been interviewed give out more hints on this. Who else have been invited lately? |
